A Binge-worthy fiction inspired by fact!
7 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Queen Charlotte's extraordinary life has been beautifully brought to life by Shonda Rhimes in this wonderful screenplay that has enough fiction to entertain and enough facts to have one rushing off to Wikipedia to know more.

The brilliant casting has brought to our screen some fine acting that connects us to these amazing characters. India Amarteifo is a spitfire and Corey Mylchreest brought soul to the character of young King George. Their chemistry on screen is brilliant and make this series such a fun watch.

One also appreciates the supporting cast, every single one of them, Brimsly and Reynolds are my personal favorites, their love for each other and their king and queen is endearing.

The interweaving of issues such a race, minority, the struggles of being a widow during this period has been depicted in a way that empowers the strength of a women and I really liked that. The last scene foretelling the birth of Queen Victoria gave me goosebumps.

We have to thank the late Mrs. Jaqueline Avant whose fascination with Queen Charlotte inspired the creation of this series.

Very Entertaining!
7 October 2022
I was born and raised in the Middle East and lived there for many years. Having moved to North America recently; I found myself missing the culture and listening to regular everyday conversations in Arabic.

So I decided to watch this on Netflix as it was the first thing that popped up on my screen and I was amazed by how much I enjoyed it. Perhaps it was because I could relate to the humor and the characters, it was such a brilliant reflection of real life!

I thought the actors did a great job in porting these simple every day characters with such charm and humor.

I also enjoyed getting to know more about the customs and practices.

Give this a watch with an open mind. It's a great reflection of real life where the women are in so much control of their lives and families unlike what is portrayed in the media.

Simple, Cute & Entertaining

I watched this movie last night. I found the first half very beautiful to watch, it was funny, it was picturesque - the scenes from Madurai. The storyline was interesting and the characters were brought to life by the actors, the sets from the first half reminded me of India and made me miss it so much. I see a lot of negative reviews from the press for this movie. It breaks my heart to think of all the people who helped set up the beautiful sets, outfits etc. What a letdown to have their work not appreciated. Maybe the storyline was not managed excellently towards the end but it is definitely not a 2 star out of 5 movie. Watch it at the end of a really busy day when you just want to relax and see a bit of beautiful south India.

Imtiaz Ali - Brilliant Storyteller
21 February 2014
Warning: Spoilers
You know you have just witnessed a great bit of film-making, when the viewing experience collides with your own and almost leaves you within the movie along with its characters. Highway was one such experience. The strong theme of nature that ran through the movie reminded me of its power to heal, to nurture and free you soul. It made me want to almost pack my bags and take off into the unknown, the joy of lying down beneath the stars, beside a river or even just driving through snow-capped mountains is enticing to say the least. Tie this with an intense relationship involving two individuals carrying wounds so deep that unconsciously draw them into each other's spheres of existence, changing their lives forever. A journey that takes them to the core of their being leaving an impact that is life –altering, forever. As is the case with such connections, happy ending are often rare and the movie kept it real. Except for a handful of unrealistic instances and sequence of events ( You cannot dance like the pussycat dolls when your kidnapped on the mountains, neither do you end up in a petrol station at 1 am just before your wedding night only to be caught by a couple of armed dacoits).... Highway nevertheless is still a journey worth taking. Great Cast – Randeep acting was just superb, and Alia is stunning for a 20 year old. They sure brought alive a great story written by the talented Imtiaz Ali. AR Rahman's Mahi Ve track is the icing on this cake for me.

A Total Disappointment

For someone who wrote and starred in the superb hit film "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" I guess when It comes to directing and starring in a film Nia Vardalos may not find herself as successful.

The movie was frankly "So bad" that I was surprised Nia could actually be capable of messing up a film so badly even though it was her directorial debut...It was over done, over acted, the story line seemed silly and clichéd It almost looked like everyone was trying too hard to make it seem real and natural to such an extent that it ended up being totally fake.

I found Nia's acting over done, and incredibly unsuited to her personality and John Corbett just seemed like he was dragged into this whole mess of a film.

The storyline needed some more realism, the humor some fixing, the actors too failed to make an impact. This is a chick flick that can definitely be avoided.

Warning: Spoilers
Its been a really long time since I watched a film starring Jennifer Love Hewitt....the last time I saw her was on the ghost whisperer series. It was nice to see her work in this film, The role really suited her and the movie is a story bout how Ian, Samantha's (Hewitt) boyfriend experiences her death and is sort of given a second chance to relive that day in order to save his love.

The movie had some really special moments captured beautifully by these two and had a lovely message, although i was a bit bit hesitant it the beginning ....things began to flow and soon you too became a part of their story and could very well relate to it....

I would definitely recommend this, I got to see another talent of Jennifer and that is the fact that she can sing and write songs too, both the songs in the film were written an performed by her...

She definitely has put her heart an soul in this movie and so has Paul Nicholls, the two shared a beautiful chemistry and will definitely leave an imprint in your hearts.
