Combat!: Headcount (1966)
Tension and a Surprise Ending !
This episode of Combat provides lots of drama and tension, as only a handful of men under Sgt.Saunders' command have to escort 18 German prisoners to headquarters for interrogation ... There are many opportunities along the way for an uprising and / or escape, and taking your eyes off the prisoners for even a second could mean your life ... And there is a final twist in the tail which I won't reveal here ... Very good episode which I enjoyed greatly.
By the way ... With all due respect to Jim Marchese, who has reviewed a large number of Combat episodes, I find it tiresome how many times he regularly comments on an episode negatively because it doesn't have large amounts of fighting action in it ... Of course, fighting is an integral part of the basis for the Combat series, but it doesn't need to be heavily featured in every episode for them to be entertaining ... Many of the ones I have enjoyed a great deal have had their share of drama, suspense and fine acting, without revolving around constant heavy battle scenes ... I have appreciated Jim's efforts in supplying so many interesting reviews for Combat. but this one aspect was quite grating.
Have Gun - Will Travel: Debutante (1963)
A little gem from Gale Garnett
This episode is just OK, if judged by the high standards that this wonderful TV series set for itself ... but to me it had one particular feature of interest ... The fiery young woman is played extremely well by New Zealand born singer-songwriter and actress ( and now novelist ), Gale Garnett.
Gale never had huge success as an actress, but as a singer-songwriter she had one major international hit with her own 1964 composition, "We'll Sing In The Sunshine" ... This relaxed, melodic little ditty made it to Number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts in October 1964, and won her a Grammy in 1965 for Best Ethnic or Traditional Folk Recording".
Here's a YouTube link to her singing it ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=udvUM7iQz-g

Notable Guest Stars
As the previous reviewer stated, this is a fairly formulaic episode, although being from a great TV series, it is still quite watchable.
Worth noting is the very first screen showing of Hollywood hottie, Dyan Cannon, who appears uncredited as Paladin's love interest in the opening scene ... Also an entertaining appearance as the town bully by Brad Dexter, who is probably best known for playing "Harry", one of "The Magnificent Seven".
