New Mexico Casting, LLC evolved from "Billy Shears Talent Management Company, LLC" which started in 2000.
We began as a humble hair, make up, tanning and photography studio in ABQ.
Robert Seymore and Roxanne Hennig headed up our photography. Robert and Roxanne began doing head shots for the clients that were coming to our studios.
About that same time the incentives legislation passed thanks to Jon Hendry and Senator Robinson efforts to bring film production companies to New Mexico.
Billy Shears Talent Management Company soon became one of the first talent companies in Albuquerque with a emphasis on Film and Television talent because of the newly created demand for film production service.
The first film production we became involved with and supplied 3/4 of the base talent was "21 Grams".
We continued to work with many other film productions supplying talent to "Thief of Time" "Coyote Waits" (Robert Redford), "Mojave", "Around the Bend", "Elvis has left the Bldg." Just to name a few of the 40 plus productions we have been associated with.
Soon we became involved in the casting aspect of the film industry. Roxanne Hennig started helping other casting directors, thus becoming a casting associate to several casting directors.
Roxanne is Currently Casting President for New Mexico Casting. In January 2007, we registered with the corporations division in New Mexico as New Mexico Casting, LLC.
Since then New Mexico Casting has seen many changes and many other individuals finding their way to our land of enchantment to try and fill the shoes of us who are the first here in the state to pioneer in this familiar movie industry.
To get an idea of who and why I am encamped in this film industry, one only has to look at my family history that can be viewed on IMDB - Stephen Stephen Raye Stannard
I used to spend summers with my Great aunt in Burbank, CA. Aunt Stella was a costume designer for the late great Edith Head. Many a day I would sit at the foot of her sewing machine as she told me stories of the celebrities she had made garments for and then witnessing some of those same celebrities coming to my aunts home for a final fitting. I never knew then what those days would eventually come to mean to me in the distant future. <br />

After the Viet Nam war and I found myself back in Hollywood, Ca. studying hair design and make up at the Associated Beauty School in North Hollywood. Soon after I met Maurice Stein (Cinema Secrets) and my career began.

The Price of the American Dream II (2008)
Dusty Dukatz Producer
The uniqueness of this film was the blending of two above the line people. Dusty Dukatz (producer/Director) and Michael Amundsen (Director/Writer/Editor). The brilliance of these two in their selection of other professionals that helped in creating a dynamic, heart felt and moving film is the reason for a perfect movie that is contemporary with the times of our day here in the U.S.A.
Dusty Dukatz and Michael Amundsen effortlessly built on each scene with the excitement as if the situations were really happening to the actors who portrayed the different characters.
In viewing this feature film, you feel as if Spike Lee was there giving instruction on how to film a barrio in urban America.
You can not help but be moved by each and every scene in this production. You will want to see it over and over again.
Too many times when you see a film you never think about those who created the piece of art. I encourage the readers here to look at all the various films Mr. Dukatz and Mr. Amundsen have created and seek them out to view as well.
Dusty Dukatz is a name that you will see as up and coming in the film industry in the near future. Michael Amundsen is meticulous in his directing and editing also and is not to be taken for granted. These two individual will continue to create viewing pleasure for the public at large and make the film industry have fewer box office flops.
Some of you readers know that Dusty was part of the direction in the making of "Water World" - Kevin Costner. Michael helped edit "Midnight Run" - Robert De Niro.
Keep an eye on these two masters of film creation; you have not seen anything yet!
Thanks Dusty and Mike for this timeless work. I enjoyed being there for the making of "Dream II"

Tennessee (2008)
Dusty Dukatz - Production Supervisor
Under the direction of Dusty Dukatz the magic of this film comes to life.
Many times when a person from the general public goes to see a film, they never take into account the reason why it is as good as it is to view. Well the reason is not only the story line from the writers perspective but the people behind the making of it as well.
In the case of "Tennessee", I had the opportunity to be there while Dusty Dukatz spun his magic in directing certain scenes in this production.
Many times during the days I was able to witness Mr. Dukatz and his expertise; I saw a determined individual with a huge responsibility put together a crew of professionals along with actors and the background extras to make each scene come off without additional retakes.
Dusty's genius in putting action to film is amazing. I hope in the near future more film producers and production companies realize Dustys huge talent in helping make the magic of film become completed as the final product for the coveted viewing audiences.
Just as Mr. Wayne Newton has the title of "Mr. Las Vegas" Dusty Dukatz should retain the title of "Mr. Magic" because of his knowledge and experience in creating a movie. Great job Dusty looking forward to working with you again.
