S.W.A.T.: Firefight (2011)
Predictable, Full of Clichés
I had to stop watching this movie after 30 minutes. Full of mistakes, geographical errors and impossible situations. This is just a sloppy and predictable film.
The Queen of Versailles (2012)
17.9 Percent Interest
This film is worth watching just to get a heads up on the time-share business. I saw this movie just before I went to Las Vegas. When I got to Las Vegas, I got caught in a sales pitch for a time-share. Well, I knew just what to say to fend them off and collect $100 without passing Go. This film shows how the time-share people do not respect the buyers (marks). Watching this film made me appreciate my life. This is a good example that Gordon Gecko can be wrong. In this film, greed is not good, particularly when you are not happy. This film gives an insight into conspicuous consumption, an unhappy dysfunctional family and proves that money is not everything.
I would say, before you buy a time-share watch this film.
Red Line 7000 (1965)
For NASCAR Fans Not AFI Top 100 Fans
I have to agree with the comment about Ms Hire being a junior grade Paula Prentiss. I logged on to my account to write that Gail Hire (Holly) came across like Paula Prentiss, but it had already been noted. But, I also noticed that Marianna Hill (Gabby) seem like she was a substitute for Brigitte Bardot and Laura Devon (Julie) as Nancy Sinatra.
I like the movie, even though it was full of clichés and all too typical of most racing movies. I like looking at the race footage. I remember many of the races and knew the full background of the races and accidents shown in the movie. I like the movie because it showed real production based race cars racing. The same makes and models my neighbors owned. If you like NASCAR this is a movie worth seeing. If you are looking for AFI top 100 films, this is not the movie for you.
Delta Force Commando (1987)
So bad that it is good
This movie is so bad that it is good. That is, it is fun to watch for all the errors and bad acting. It is hard to believe that Mr. Williamson takes himself seriously. This almost comes off as a spoof. But a spoof of what move? Itself. If you like bad movies, this will more than fill the bill. It is bad like "Plan 9 from Outer Space".
This movie has just about everything needed to be called a bad film, such as bad acting, gun with unlimited ammunition, wrong uniforms, bad editing, poor continuity, low budget etc. This could be a case study on how not to make a film or how to make a bad film. I must say this again. It is so bad that it is good.
I would rent it again, just to see if it is possible to count the mistakes. But let just face the facts, Mr. Williamson's films are not known for their artistic value. Mr. Williamson's films are more known for a chance for him to exercise his ego and for just simple entertainment. After more than thirty years as a filmmaker, I think most film buffs know this. So rent or watch this film for what it is, so bad that it is good.
