Elk*rtuk (2021)
A decent political thriller
Looking at the recent adaptations of Tom Clancy novels, this movie comes nothing short of it.
The actors are hungarians, and the budget was way less, but even so, it is a decent political thriller, but some twists that are hard to predict. It does not contain so many action scenes, rather concentrates on internal struggle.
The way how it presents the urban hungarian life in the capital city is quite good, the shots from the city are also breathtaking. (I smiled when the lead character said: I'm just a rural girl - vidéki lány vagyok - as she was not raised and borned in Budapest, and for Hungarians from the capital everything outside the capital is rural).
I like how the lead feminin character is developing in the movie, from a carrier oriented person becomes more family and truth oriented.
Enjoyable, recommend it.
PS. Ignore the reviewers who gave 1 stars and 10 stars. I find it odd, that the currently featured review couldn't even spell the title correct (ppolitical ropaganda instead of political propaganda with 1 star). However I find it odd, if this is really a propaganda movie, why aren't there more positive reviews here? My explanation would be, that left party sympathizers are just overrepresented here, and thats why this movie is so underrated on imdb.
Shooter (2016)
Promising start, disappointing continuation
I really enjoyed the original movie with Mark Wahlberg, it was good. When I've seen that there is a series about it, I started watching it, end expected a decent show.
The first season was quite good, definitely comparable to the original movie. However it left a few unanswered questions.
The next 2 seasons were much weaker, similarly to Prison Break. The story got way more complicated, like it was written from episode to episode.
Also did not like the unnatural evolution in Bob Lee s character from a calm, planning sniper to kind of a hotheaded improvising punisher.
Definitely worth watching, but despite the potential, seasons 2 and 3 are average.
Ultimate Justice (2017)
Awesome action movie
This is a very well written and directed action movie, with some twists.
It is not as well advertised as the blockbusters, but storywise and actionwise it is better. The action scenes coreografy is amazing.
The Call of the Wild (2020)
This is not Call of the Wild
I really loved the Jack London novel, and red it multiple times.
This movie is not the novel. There are some similarities with the novel, but it does not resemble the cruel and cold Alaska, nor Bucks character, or the relationship between man and dog.
Personally did not like the CGI, in some cases it was an overkill.
(especially the wolf den in the end)
If you want an easy to digest movie without too much to say,
you can try it. Otherwise read the novel :)
Charlie's Angels (2019)
so many flaws
I did not had high expectations about this movie,
but they were certainly not met (and I liked the first one).
There are way too much flaws, too few action scenes, and the story flow is like non-existent in this one.
