Kath & Kimderella (2012)
Flogging a very dead horse.
I loved the TV show in the early days.. It was original and hilarious. Over the years though, they just repeated the same old stuff over and over again.. and i always assumed that's why the show eventually went off the air - People were bored.
Unfortunately, it seems they didn't learn their lesson though. This movie is just 90 minutes of the same old jokes from the show 10 years ago, regurgitated in exactly the same way. Only difference is that this time it is set in Italy.
Prue & Trude, My all-time favorite characters from the show are nothing short of annoying in this movie. They are just scattered throughout the film for absolutely no reason and don't add a thing to the story.
I use the term "Story" lightly. This film really doesn't have one. It's just a stage to shove the same old characters, saying the same old lines.
Very very disappointing.
Hopefully the aging actors will finally realize that this horse has been flogged, and move onto new things.
Hollywood Ending (2002)
Loved it.
i was not expecting to enjoy this film because everyone i have ever asked what they think of Woody Allens films, has saif that they hate them!
Until i saw this, the only other Allen film i have seen is Whatever Works (2009).. Which i only watched because it starred Larry David... And i didn't really pay much attention to the film so much as i was focused more on Larry's performance.
So i sat down to watch Hollywood Ending just to see why everyone seems to be so "Anti- Allen"
Anyway, long story short = i loved it!
Great story, shown in an interesting way. I love the warm lighting and the long takes.
I wasn't a fan of the score, but hey.. you can't have everything!
But i am glad i watched it, and i look forward to watching more of Allens films in the near future.
Weekend at Bernie's II (1993)
What was the point?
Weekend At Bernies (Part 1) has always been one of my all time favorite dreadful movies.. i class it as one of those films that are so tacky, they are kind of great...... Which is more than i can say for this sequel!
I just don't get the point of it. There is nothing new or different about this movie.. they achieved nothing by making a second film..
All i can think is, They thought a lot of money was to be made by making this... I wonder if it was worth it?
I guess if you'd never seen the original, this film would be OKAY.. In a bad way!... but as a follow up to the original.. it just kinda sucks.
