You're Next (2011)
poor execution
Wasn't expecting much, received even less. The characters are wooden and the acting is poor. Hell, the first half of the movie, you want to kill the family yourself, because they are so annoying and stupid. The concept is interesting, but the execution is terrible. The "twist" is so obvious by the bad acting and the poor dialog. I figured it out 10 minutes into the movie, they make it very obvious. The very ending of the movie was probably the best part. It was dumb, but at least it was funny. The filming is terrible, shaky camera work and zooming in on everything. Most of the people die because they're stupid, not because the bad guys are clever. It's not even worth a free rental at Redbox.
Sharknado (2013)
unbelievably bad
I do believe this is the worst movie I have ever seen. I know this channel is infamous for terrible movies and I have seen most of them.So I came in with very low expectations and I was still stunned. I have never seen a movie so chopped up and put together. One minute there are tidal waves of water & tornadoes, dry streets and sunny skies the next. The surfing scene is a great example of what I'm talking about. Everything is beyond preposterous and no explanations given. The budget for this movie must have been a Lincoln and a pack of gum. It's actually so bad, that it's not even funny. You're too busy going wha tha fa to even laugh. The terrible and ridiculous ending is the perfect way for this movie to end.
Body of Proof: Dark City (2013)
another silly episode
Body of proof has become the silliest show on television. The Sy-Fy channel is more believable. It's good to see the Medical examiner dressed like a hooker AGAIN. What's with the 15' tall elevator? Is it really a good idea to give the diabetic daughter a tub of ice cream? I thought the last couple of shows were silly. Let's send the medical examiner in WITH the SWAT team. So, with that logic in mind, Lets send the 2 doctors to fix the back-up generator. Does the writing team of this show know what a medical examiner in a major city does? It doesn't matter to me that the show is getting canceled, I've watched my last episode. Such a shame too, the first 2 seasons were good.
Uncommon Valor (1983)
Great movie!!!!
I originally saw this in the theater when it opened in 1983.It is now August 2010 and I just watched it again and I was surprised at how well it stands up 27 years later. It is far better than the macho crap of the time, Missing in Action , Rambo and it's ilk. I don't consider this or First Blood Vietnam war movies, because they take place after the war. They show the aftermath and the effects the war had on individuals and their families. The acting performances are quite good and believable. I think it may be one of Gene Hackman's best performances and that is saying something. The direction and filming in general are excellent. Definitely a movie worth watching then and now.
Hannie Caulder (1971)
different movie
Did I see a different movie than everybody else? No one has mentioned the head scratching events, like why the gang of Mexicans attacked Christopher Lee and company on the beach. Like who was the guy at the prison and why he helped Hannie? Did he live there? Let's not forget the absurdity of making a gun without any machining tools. No one mentioned how the older brother's leg wound kept changing legs. Someone mentioned less cheesecake? Less than having one of the most beautiful woman on earth wear a poncho for the whole movie. What moron's idea was that? The whole teaching her how to shoot was just awful and painful to watch. The music was terrible and wildly inappropriate. It sounded like some outtakes from Star Trek. There was no chemistry at all between Welch and Culp at all, none! I could go on and on about the three stooges being portrayed as bad asses, but you get the point.
