An entire Med School class made up of complete idiots, what a concept....
14 December 2017
I really can't say anything positive about this "remake" of a mediocre movie which compared to the new version is a work of art. This movie is a complete waste of time and money. The actors are what looks like Mickey Mouse Club Reunion, only one of the players appears to be old enough to drive let alone attend an Ivy League Medical School, but hey, why not? There is a feeling that the only tangible reason for the introduction to a temporary state of death is to party like there's no tomorrow and screw your fellow corpse mates. This movie has nothing that would compare favorably with the original, which was no feat of cinematic excellence unless all one has to base an opinion on that movie is this remake which is as bad as anything I have ever wasted evening watching an absolutely terrible movie with absolutely terrible acting while reading from what was an absolutely terrible script! This movie really sucked.

An absolutely ridiculous attempt at a WWII Epic
14 June 2017
Warning: Spoilers
I will not even bother to comment on the story line which could have been a very interesting and well made film if only the script were very interesting and well made. In a ham handed attempt to bring the reality of 1940's society into 2016 by streamlining a lesbian couple into the story line as if it would have been a perfectly normal and accepted situation to have a woman, Pitt's characters sister, in uniform at his wedding pawing all over her lesbian submissive lover, this is while sitting at the same table as the "V" Section Commander who doesn't seem to care that a military officer is engaged in a lesbian sexual encounter while under his command in an intelligence unit which would have required people who had absolutely no "weakness" which could have possibly been compromised. Then later in the film where their roles seem to reverse and she is the one being manhandled by her cellist lover. My complete disillusionment with this film isn't related to the idea that a Lesbian Couple was written into the script, it's how they were written into the script as if they were no longer living their lives in secrecy for the most part, and certainly not in the open within the British Military in 1940's Britain; the very idea is complete nonsense and a complete insult to those who lived alternative lifestyles prior to the societal acceptance of these alternative lifestyles. These people within the LGBT movement had worked decades for acceptance. This idiotic script totally discounts the years and the struggles which were so hard fought by so many. I am not a member of the LGBT community but I can't help but feel incensed by the dismissal of the actual trials which those who were living a Gay lifestyle during WWII. Then there is the lengths which Pitts character goes to in total disregard of his orders and the lives of a number of men behind enemy lines to have people look at his wife's picture; it is simply one of the dumbest story lines I have ever seen played out within a major motion picture that didn't include the launch of space craft full of Well Drilling pros which then land on a Comet headed for New York, and then are successful! That movie however was at least well done, which this wasn't. History is interesting and really doesn't require a "rewrite".

Who is the hell is rating this crap a 6.1?
8 June 2017
Warning: Spoilers
This was the most ridiculous load of crap I have seen in.... well EVER! I'm not going to warn about any "Spoilers" because this thing was totally rotten from the moment this load dropped off the radar and into a toilet near you. All I can say is that the people who actually gave this thing high ratings are either being paid or they saw a different film. I can say one more thing; Denise Richards as an FBI Agent is about as believable as Denise Richards at the controls of a Starship.... don't waste your time unless you are planning a flight in the near future and you want to be aware of something that wouldn't happen in a million years.

Could Have and Should Have Been A Great Movie...But...
5 May 2014
This story has the potential to be a "Great Movie" telling the true story of the Allies efforts to recover and secure Europe's artistic treasure's. The story itself is intriguing and all that was really required was the establishment of the central character's with a bit of care and detail. This was not accomplished by Clooney's directorial leadership in the telling of this story. I suppose I should say that as an actor George Clooney is a current "standout" within the acting community. As a Director, George Clooney is a novice whose work lacked rhythm, pace and direction. As stated, this should have been a truly great movie based on the material that was available to the producer and the director in that it is taken from actual WWII experiences of real people during the most compelling period in modern history. This was a time in which average men and women became larger than life heroes with stories that are just waiting to be told... competently and with care.

It Becomes an Interesting Film
8 July 2013
Considering the cast, I expected a much more traditional movie with Christopher Walken and Christian Slater as what I thought were to be the title characters. Well that was not the case and actually these two actors really had roles that were quite irregular for their stature. The entire film was quite unique in that I have only seen one other movie that has a similar format, Vantage Point. The entire movie shows the intersecting experiences of a group of strangers who have varying impacts on each others lives during the day. They are followed to the climax of their individual events and we see how those events and their players affect the outcome of each others life's path. The overall pace and impact of the characters based on individual performances was really a bit of a disappointment until "Fueisha" or "Few" makes her appearance. This young lady is destined for great things as her performance was without question the standout performance and character of this film. I can only say that I wish we had been introduced to her earlier on in the film and that she had considerably more screen time as there is something quite endearing and almost mystical about her. This was a film I was almost ready to give up on and then it captured my attention and then my heart. It really is well worth watching.
