Zombie vs a Shark, this scene alone makes it a unique and classic example of the genre, (or of film in general), not to mention that droning synth score that complements perfectly the dread and impending doom that Fulci's films seem to inhabit and permeate. The zombies are real sinister looking in this, especially when your used the blue faced zombies of Romero's Dawn of the Dead (no diss on Romero mind you).
This is actually quite coherent and linear for one of Fulci's 'dead' films, most of what you see is happening for a reason, a lot of people have commented on why the women stands there staring at the zombie as it is rising from the dirt and walking toward her, -paralyzed with fear is a fair explanation i think, (plus we need some reason to view that terrific Fulci throat ripping we've all grown to know and love) Zombi 2, or Zombie Flesh Eaters as it is known in the U.K. is arguably my favorite Fulci film, it would be a toss up between this and The Beyond. A real gem from the maestro of gore.
