The Young Ones (1982–1984)
A programme filled with drugs, sex, drink, music, rebellion, pointless violence and unnecessary swearing-lovely
31 May 2004
Having recently moved house, there were a lot of jobs to be done round the house, and I had to sort out the videos to see who's was who's. I came across a video of 'The Young Ones'; I'd heard quite a lot of bad comments about it and how teenagers shouldn't watch it. Of course being a teenager I do the opposite of what they want me to do, and watched it. I love it. 4 very different students put together in an old, dilapidated (caused by them) house and forced to live with each other: Rick, sociology student who is perhaps everyone's idea of the annoying housemate from hell, Vyvyan, who will probably grow up to become the world most feared doctor due to his violent nature and unorthodox methods (6 inch nails for acupuncture), Neil, a slow witted hippy who lives in the past a bit, Mike, who's just normal, scarily normal. The show at times deals with quite serious issues (or at least tries to) like the demolition of the boys house, but it's broken down by the sheer funniness of the show, like Vyvyans plan to stop the council knocking the house down is to do it himself, from inside. I know the show was made over 20 years ago, but it means something to me, and possibly teenagers and young adults everywhere. I don't know if its just me, but I think some of the comedies BBC having been showing recently have been tame and boring, (mad about Alice), I hope that they come to their senses and start showing shows that are similar to the young ones, wild, wacky, and shocking.

Elf (2003)
Best Christmas film..ever
30 November 2003
There a very few Christmas films that have been made that don't go extremely cheesy. Elf has the perfect combination for a festive family film, humour, a morale (they have to have one) and it appeals to both kids and adults. I found it so funny and can't wait till it comes out on dvd.

My Hero (2000–2007)
Funny and Original
16 November 2003
My Hero is a classic example that if you wait....several years a good show will come along. I am now so sick of "reality t.v." that I turn over and watch the news, desperate or what. When i first watched My Hero I must admit I was bored, so I sat down and watched it. After that I was hooked, it was funny and original and I looked forward to it, I can't understand people who its sad or boring, its a piece of pure comic genius that I hope the BBC will continue to show it.

As Told by Ginger (2000–2009)
Decent Telly: NO WAY
11 August 2003
I think Nic is going down the pan, i mean for gods sake, they give us a stupid pre-teen who's only interests in life are: Being 'popular' and boys. Do they think people enjoy watching a silly, loved up pre-teen run around fretting that she's not Courtney's 'bff' yet. Where are the good shows Nic used to show?? oh sos they got shoved into a dark basement called the "never show ever again" section. In my opinion they should have a good look at whats in there bring back all the good shows kids, pre-teen, teens and even adults like to watch, and then shove "as told by ginger in there and throw away the key. What is "as told by ginger" going to teach young children, to worry non stop about whether your popular and to fancy EVERY boy which walks your way. My opinion: DOWN WITH GINGER.

Madonna at her finest
19 June 2003
Fantastic, Madonna at her finest, the film is funny and her acting is brilliant. It may have been made in the 80's but it has all the qualities of a modern Hollywood Block-buster. I love this film and i think its totally unique and will cheer up any droopy person within a matter of minutes. Fantastic.

My Family (2000–2011)
Laugh a minute
20 April 2003
I can be in the foulest mood, but just watching an episode of "My Family" can bring a smile back onto my face. Ben is hilarious, with his angry moods and "don't give a damn" attitude, Susan with her awful cooking and power to dominate, Janie with her ever practiced money grabbing techniques, Abbi with her extremely dumb blonde act, Michael with his seriousness and finally Nick with his stupid ideas and quick, quirky one-liners. The funny thing is, I can look at the Harper family and it reminds me completely of my own

Tough Call !!!
4 April 2003
Its weird but at the same time funny. So its hard to say whether this movie stinks or its good. So its a tough call. Its got a good set of actors, its got an okay story line, but its just plain WEIRD ! I think it depends on the person who is watching it. If their idea of fun was watching Arnold Schwarzenegger go through morning sickness then they would love the film but otherwise people might just hate it to bits.
