Riverdale: Chapter Seventy-One: How to Get Away with Murder (2020)
Urgh! Just Urgh! Worst episode in a LONG time
I never write reviews, but I have to for this episode.
Alright, I am parodying the other review of this episode. But it is all true, it was the worst writing I have seen to date (having followed the entire series this far). I have actually given up and turned it off 2/3 of the way through.
Thumbs up this if you agree it was awful or thumbs down if you disagree.
Bright (2017)
I wanted to love it...
I wanted this to be a 10/10.
It was rather good, just a little predictable in places. Spoiler alert: In the first few minutes, you end up wondering if this is going to be yet another 'it was all a dream' movie as the 'hero' is shot in the chest with a shotgun and wakes up at home...
However, get over it, the film does pick up after that. And no, it is not a dream!
Another Earth (2011)
Not for me.
Keeping this short and simple:
The storyline never feels to go anywhere, the science is lame and the real story summed up in 15 words: It is a story about a car accident and a girl trying to redeem herself.
Personally I was disappointed by it as I was expecting more. If you are a science fiction fan this is probably not the film for you. If you on the other hand like to see people trying to better themselves and turn their life around (inspirational stuff, this is probably more your cup of tea!).
Finally: everyone has a right to their own opinion, I can understand why some people might love this film however it was certainly not for me.
Thanks for reading.
2 Broke Girls (2011)
Not fantastic.
Just watched the first episode, so my opinions are based on my experience so far. Granted the series may improve, if it does I will amend my vote here.
The main actress 'Max', aka. Kat Dennings; plays a confused, heartless waitress with a kind heart beneath the surface. If that was not confusing enough for you, her acting will surely highlight how 'confused' she was: when asked to play this role.
Overall the show had a couple of laughs and a few cringe worthy moments, however it is nothing too special. I was left feeling a little disappointed with the quality of the acting. The acting reminded me of "Kenan & Kel (TV Series 1996–2000)", aimed at a slightly older audience.
5/10: Worth watching if there is nothing else on. "Crème de la crud"
Luther (2010)
Fantastic action-packed police drama.
I have watched countless TV shows from the US and the UK and this is by far one of the better written shows. It is not fully packed of twists and turns but the actor who plays 'Alice' is pure evil genius. She alone takes the show from being 'just good' to fantastic! Overall it is worth watching and much better than any other police show I have found in recent years, with a possible exception of 'Dexter' (US TV show).
Without giving too much away it is a story about a 'troubled' police officer who is highly skilled at his job, however has to deal with many issues. Throughout the show he comes across as very self-contained with a few outbursts of anger; these highlight his frustrations of the harsh situations for which he has been placed.
Sadly the series is only 6 episodes and I am truly hoping for a second series. For this, I will be keeping my out for! However some of the best shows only ever have one season of pure genius as not to ruin them. I suspect that this may be the case here, even though I do feel there is room to extend the story at least into another 6 episodes of series 2.
