The Offer (2022)
Entertaining, Informative, Well acted
Such a gem - everyone involved gave their best. An amazing script transformed into a wonderful and very entertaining Series. I wish everyone would take such care in creating movies/series. It hooks you from the first episode and tells a very interesting tale. The characters a very well developed and all actors gave their best.
Cinematographic magic! Highly recommended.
A Discovery of Witches (2018)
Mumbling throughout - no wisdom or depth in characters - why did DH let this pass?
What a nonsense ...
It should have been called "A Discovery of Mumblers and Moaners" - I really enjoyed the books but this is such a sad adaptation. I could have done a better job with it.
Half of it you cannot understand because the actors mumble - and sadly Amazon offers no subtitles. The action scenes are severely downplayed and not fully envisioned.
As for the male lead - Matthew Goode comes across as 30-year-old windbag rather than a 1500-year-old warrior, spy, prince, scientist, poet...
And the wonderful Teresa Palmer seems to have misplaced her ability to project the magic she had in "Warm Bodies".
A total lack of grid, chemistry, and magic.
Their Finest (2016)
Wonderful sunday afternoon movie for the whole family.
Lovely film, full of love, laughter and warmth. Period is captured and produced very well. Reflect the strength of people during WW2 well.
Bad Samaritan (2018)
Very thrilling and super entertaining
Watched this movie yesterday and was positively surprised. A very well written thriller that keeps you engaged from start to finished. Well acted, good production and most importantly an original and entertaining story line. Excellent movie!
The Hunger Games (2012)
Who cast the director?
I was very disappointed by this adaptation of "The Hunger Games". I enjoyed the books very much, but the film left me not caring about any of the main characters. The direction and camera-work was poorly executed, making me wonder if someone had a bad hangover and thought a hand-held camera was a good idea. No continuance in storyline, nor did the main characters exactly look starved...
I suppose for teenagers it will do, but to reach a wider audience perhaps a little bit more professionalism in script/editing/direction/production is required. It lacked the grit of the actual book as well.
The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 (2011)
A brilliant example of wooden acting and bad movie making
It is a sad world in which such talentless display of acting, screenplay and direction gets any recognition whatsoever.
You do not care about any of the characters, nor is there any chemistry between the supposed lovers Bella and Edward, calling it wooden would be a compliment, instead it is a bored and effortless "going through the motions and I could not care less performance..." Exhibiting with that a huge disrespect for their audience...!
Edward is suppose to be this strong and wise immortal, but instead I see a stupid weakling who faced with any sort of danger at all would appear to rather lay down crying than to stand up for himself..., there is truly no strength of body or soul in him at all, at times it seems he'd rather be Bella... and as for Bella(KStew), it is sad to see how one merchandise has ruined the blossoming of a good actress... it almost appears the Twilight saga has sucked the soul out of her... perhaps she'll recover, perhaps she won't.
I enjoyed the books very much, to my shame. However, this latest instalment has finally managed to kill all my imagined magic this Sage might have once held for me. I finally grew up...
