Great Underrated Sci Fi
27 May 2022
Such an underrated Ray Liotta film. Really hard to find but it's on you tube for free. If you like dystopian Mad Max type Sci Fi movies you'll enjoy this. RIP Ray Liotta.

The director ended up directing Goldeneye a year later and directed Daniel Craig's first Bond and in my opinion best of his movies Casino Royale.

Beware of Spike Island
6 April 2022
I hope the crew does more International locations. They saved the best for last in this season. A lot of history Internationally which means more old haunts to explore.

For Fans of Strange Unsolved Mysteries
14 February 2021
I'm a skeptic who really enjoys watching ghost shows. It's like my only reality TV vice. Through my years of watching various different ghost shows, I've heard of the infamous Cecil Hotel and it's weird suicides and murders. Also heard about the famous Satanist serial killer that lived there while he did his horrific murders. I recently watched a special on one of my favorite ghost shows "Ghost Adventures" and never heard of the most recent Cecil Hotel story of Alissa Lam's disappearance. I must've been under a rock cause this was an internet sensation in 2013. I won't spoil it but it's very strange. Like I said if you'd a fan of tv shows like Unsolved Mysteries you'll really enjoy this.

I also enjoy ghost shows cause I'm a big history buff. I love that these ghost shows dive into the history of these old supposedly haunted buildings and show you the lives they once had. Cecil Hotel is no different. It's a fascinating story of a once glamorous hotel in the 1920s and it's evolution to its nickname "Hotel Death" that now sits in the heart of Skid Row.

In summary if you enjoy "Unsolved Mysteries" a fan of ghost shows and enjoy history you can't go wrong with this one. It's a must watch and I really enjoyed it.

Tut (2015)

Not Bad a For Made For TV Movie
22 July 2015
Not sure if this is Spike TVs first attempt for a TV movie but if it is it was well done. Giving the network is considered a guy's version of Lifetime it definitely had all the elements you'd expect in a movie made for fuys while appealing to the women too. Action packed battle scenes betrayal love and destiny.

I got to admit the set designs even the CGI to form the background to show the glory of how Egypt may have looked in its prime was not that bad at all. Even the costumes were well done.

Story was well paced for me and I found myself concerned for Tut and was cheering for him to succeed. There obviously isn't a lot of story about Tuts reign but it to my knowledge covered the political and economical issues we do know may have happened in his time. Tension relations with outer tribes and economic distress. Though a lot of Historians believe he was mildly crippled and may have not fought his own battles he was buried with war armor so it's easy to assume maybe he did. Besides movie wouldn't be as interesting if he wasn't in the battles so why not.

Actors were pretty good in it. Ben Kingsley of course was great but a lot of the other actors ,except Nonzo Azonie from Game of Thrones season 2, were unknowns to me and did a good enough job to not make me cringe every time they opened their mouth.

If you're looking for a movie to fill your need for the disappointment of Exodus: Gods and Kings this will be a great one to watch. Sure not all the actors were Egyptian. Hard to find true Egyptians today like it is Mayans but at least the actors look like they would be. Not white actors with bad body paint like Exodus.

Red State Review
29 September 2011
Don't know how people think this is Kevin Smith's best movie when it clearly isn't. Way over-hyped. Granted I don't believe it's a bad movie. It was watchable to me and kept me interested even though my thoughts and feelings were taken all over the place leaving me unsure what to think when Kevin took me to the end of it. First reason I thought it was a mess is because I didn't know who's side to be on. Kevin Smith has a radical conservative gun loving gay and sodomy murdering Christian church group. Obviously bad people. A Democrats worse nightmare. There's also a Goverenment agency that's going against this church that abuses it's powers of anti-terrorism to cover up a mistake they made by killing every man woman child and hostage in the movie. Again bad people. Possibly a Republicans worst nightmare. Maybe it's not meant to chose sides, but left me confused. Second reason is there were times where it went dark them Kevin Smith would put a one liner that would break the ice so never got me to a point where I felt scared. After that it turns into an action shoot off movie that kills off every character that kept the idea of the movie alive. All in all it wasn't a bad movie as far as it keeping you interested though it all but wasn't great cause every time I thought it was going somewhere it didn't. Kevin Smith could've took this movie into deeper depths and every time I thought it would it kind of flat lined till it got to the end which left me disappointed to the whole idea of the movie in general.
