Richard Pryor: Live in Concert (1979)
Greatest stand up comedy performance of all time
Most of the time, 99.9% of the time, I find comedy embarrassing and corny. No doubt this is because comedy is the hardest thing to do. Therefore if it is so hard, a lot of people are going to fail. And a lot of people do. You need to be intelligent to really be funny. Once again not many people are all that smart either. To give you an idea of some things I find funny: I like David Letterman but not Jay Leno. Find South Park and the Simpsons amusing and think 'The Office is one of if not the funniest things on television ever. In my opinion 'Live In Concert' is the greatest stand up comedy performance of all time. Add this to the list of things you MUST see. Pryor has got it all, voice and the way he uses it, facial expressions, acting ability, intelligence. One of the best things I notice about his style is that you are never aware when he has moved on to the next joke. The transitions between jokes are as good as the jokes themselves. This is something that the best speakers have, the ability to move from one topic to the next so that the listener is not aware of the transition. This is achieved by the speakers ability to relate topics.
Touching the Void (2003)
Possibly the greatest work in cinema ever
I am shaken. So powerful. For weeks something inside of me has bothered me, telling me to vote and write a comment for Touching The Void. This movie/documentary perfectly took us to the brink of human capability. It showed us the limit that the human spirit could ever possibly reach. The person who went through this was meant to. Sometimes there is only one person in the world who can do something, and by some twist of fate they are there at the perfect time in history and that events unfold in such a way that what is deep inside of them is put to its true test. And against all odds they show that nothing in the universe can compete with what they have.
See it and vote for it. It needs more votes to reach the top 250 list.
The Chronicles of Riddick (2004)
A very rare "walk out of theatre" reaction from me
The last movie I walked out from the cinema was 27 Days. This movie was god awful and even worse! I do not over state things am normally very conservative but this baby is one of the ALL TIME pieces of crap ever released! God I wish I could have my time back - If I spent it poking rusty nails into my eyes, I would have done something better with that time. Sufferers from epilepsy beware! I was astounded at the high intensity bright white light flashing that lasted for 5-10 minutes at a time! I am sure sufferers of epilepsy would be more satisfied having a fit in their seat for 120 minutes rather than enduring this rubbish. Why oh why people... why have you given this movie an average rating of 6.5 ?!?! AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!
The Matrix Reloaded (2003)
if you wanna
Lacks the fantasy and story line of the original. At time is quiet boring and drawn out. Dull. Action scenes are good - not great! They have not raised the bar to unreachable heights this is nonsense, c'mon Wachowski brothers! It's basically dull - action - dull - action... with no real plot or story between.
The car chase scene? I was still waiting for it then realized i had just watched it 10 minutes ago. If you wanna see a cool car accident/action scene watch Final Destination 2.
I wasn't the only disappointed customer, i heard others in the theatre and toilet afterwards sounding a little dejected. God I waited so long for this sequel. 6.5
