Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales (2017)
I'm glad they lost money over this.
I'm glad they lost money over this. at least someone paid for this colossal waste of my time. I'll be terse because this movie sapped away my will to live. 1. No plot whatsoever; some people are chasing some lost something whilst fighting some promiscuous villains. 2. No characters; some people running around some haphazard environments spewing some random words. 3.ridiculous cameos in order to illicit i member moments.
Another one of these, and to the movies, i wont be coming anytime soon. Frankly it seems that Hollywood has died and was replaced with money grubbing executives whom are led by machines.
Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens (2015)
If you've watched more than 20 movies in the past 10 years, don't bother with this one.
Like any child of the 80's I grew up on many classics only to see them get ruined in the 2000's, and the latest entry is The Star Wars saga. Truth be told I'm not such a great fan of the series, I am more of a Lord of the Rings type, but I am an avid movie goer, and I am a sucker for the Big Screen. But Lately I've been beleaguered by a bizarre feeling every time i have watched a movie. I mean the feeling of a familiarity of being with that obnoxious relative whom you need to spend time with some every holiday or family get together, and not that of being with an old favorite couch which for unknown reasons you can't part with. That feeling of familiarity seems to be accompanying me with every themed movie or movie for a mattar of a fact that I watch lately. So just to name a few ; the Hobbit, Star Trek, Transformers(excluding the first), the new Spider-Man and Batman and Superman and just every comic book movie, The list of course spirals on and on and on. Sure each movie I see is different, but it is different only by name and settings.
And now the recent addition is Star Wars episode Who Cares, for the writers of this film sure as hell didn't. So like all recent said film so: all the heroes are funny( at least it's what the writers believe them to be). All the villains are not really evil but are more like a confused misunderstood middle school bully. boy meets girl. Some chases and CGI. Nothing more nothing less. No plot, no conversations, no sentences longer than 10 words, no understanding of the world in which the movie is set in, and writing that suits the writers and not the plot. Plenty of dues ex machinas, and no impact on the viewer whatsoever except for the occasional giggle.
Now this paradigm is very much prevalent in the last 10 years of cinema including Star Wars episode 7(sorry you do not merit the Latin letters to your name).
Star Wars Episode IV has resonated for 40 years now. For how long do you think this Star Wars will be talked about ? If the people who had made this movie cared even a little about cinematography and not about profit, they would have hired someone like Neil Blomkamp or Christopher Nolan to do the job. Now I don't claim that with these people on board the movie would have been great, but at least it wouldn't have been another movie feeling generated by software.
So here is to hoping that the 2020's will be better years for films, and to all of the world in general :).
Dark Shadows (2012)
We could do less with the Avengers and more with Dark Shadows
Usually i don't really care to write down a review i just give it stars but this, this i had to do. i need to be explained (probably by rabid sheep) why this movie has a 6.5 rating and the droll which is the The Avengers got a 8.5 or so ?
Dark Shadows is beautifully realized in any way. The acting is top notch: Johnny Depp and Michelle Pfeiffer need i say more ? the scenes were amazingly crafted: no flamboyant CGI which makes films feel like a game on my PS3 the story and plot were nice and kept your mind running as to what's to come. in the end what you get is a well made movie in all its facets.
i really don't get why crap like the Avengers which had nothing to it even the battle scenes were poor, boring and felt straight out of a video game at best, rates higher than Dark Shadows
People if you value your thinking more than you value your reality shows go see this, if not go see The Avengers
Traffic Light (2011)
when u adapt a bad show it will still be a bad show
this is is an adaptation from a show in Israel that goes by the same name Israeli television is bad and this is not an exception even if it is being made by Fox. the show just like its counterpart is bad by all accounts. the characters are awful' the writing feels as if it were pulled out from a sitcom in the 80s, and it plainly makes you feel sorry for actors who need to play those roles. i tried watching the original and it was 30 minutes i will never get back , and sadly perhaps even moronically i watched Fox's remake and there you have it another 30 minutes that i will never get back. my advice if you don't have anything better to do with your time believe you me, you would rather flush down the toilet for 30 minutes and watch the water swirl down.
