For the Love of Spock (2016)
Awesome
First thing you should know - I'm a Trek fan.
Loved the interviews and the inside take on all of this.
The father-son relationship between Leonard and Adam were new to me and quite emotional and sometimes even a bit raw for me.
I'm so glad I pressed Play for this video.
Scary Movie 5 (2013)
Much funnier
After the ABYSMAL 3 & 4, this was a welcome retro funny films. Zucker is still a great and funny writer and this had some genuine laugh out loud moments, without the brutally annoying stoned character.
Well done!!!
Expedition Unknown: Hunt for the Yeti (2016)
BORING
Yeah, sorry, this is SUCH a load of hooey.
I'm all for open mindedness and awesome discoveries, but the constant "WHAT'S THAT THERE?" (full zoom full wobbly camera hot shows nothing) or 'whispering' "WHAT'S THAT SOUND?" and we hear a twig snap. Wow!!!!! What a crock.
Surely the money spent making this show could be better spent. Like on hospitals or schools. If not, something entertaining, perhaps...
Fate (2016)
Time Travel how??
Low budget film making is a thing, and that's cool.
However, attempting time travel from an office with machines from the 50's ain't gonna cut it, and it didn't.
Then there's the music soundtrack/editing that just never stops. Has the music editor ever seen a film before, to know how film music actually works?
Interesting premise let down by the above mentions.
Swim (2021)
Really???
A fun romp similar to other sharky things, but the amount of damage able to be inflicted by a 3 metre (10 foot) shark needs a bit of research.
Swim speed, bite radius blah blah blah.
Always fun though.
Horndogs Beach Party (2018)
No Redeeming Features
I tried with this flick, but the only thing that kept me awake was hitting the "10 seconds forward" on my screen.
Sadly, a shocker.
Thunder Force (2021)
Didn't quite make the mark
This took a while to get going but had some good moments.
Felt stiff at times and over acted a little bit all in all I found it enjoyable.
Introspectum Motel (2021)
So so boring.
This move is boring!
Boring!!
BORING!!!
That is all.
Starfish (2018)
BORING!!!!
This is a tale about a film that is SO SLOW that you tend to fall asleep.
Well acted by the female lead (up until I turned it off, anyway).
To me, this is just self indulgent crap.
BORING!!!!!
That is all.
Cosmos (2019)
Excellent
I really enjoyed this film. At times a little slow and maybe taking a bit too much time on certain shots (only my opinion of course) they created tension and excitement and enough small reveals to keep my eyes glued to the TV then a great ending (Spielberg inspired??) without the potentially disappointing spaceship reveal.
The music score was engaging if over dramatic in some scenes (Hans Zimmer has a lot to do with these kind of scores - so much thundering drums with the long note melodies in the French horns. I blame him 😜)
All in all a great film for me. Congratulations to the film makers!!
First Signal (2021)
This is a YEAH NAH from me.
Interesting premise ruined by pretty much everything about this production.
Sound terrible. Acting not great (imo, of course).
Shot set ups, editing all over the place. POV shots simply terrible.
Music soundtrack about the WORST I've ever heard. Totally out of place in this flick.
Ended up being very very boring.
L'ultimo squalo (1981)
Jaws fail
An absolute shocker of a movie, despite the efforts of the filmmakers to make their version of JAWS.
Shocking shocking shocking.
Vampegeddon (2010)
YIKES!!!
Well.... errrmmm..... what can one say.
Pretty unwatchable movie, made so by the worst sound design/ sound editing in any motion picture EVER, and the worst music soundtrack in a film since music soundtracks were invented.
Appalling choices make this ordinary movie unwatchable. If it ended well, please let me know and I'll watch the last 20 minutes.
2067 (2020)
Tried hard
I found this a very interesting concept and story, ruined by some terrible acting (apart from Ryan Kwanten) and the lead character spending most of the movie blubbering and crying (even more than Burnham on ST: Discovery!!!). Also, the music score is absolutely woeful. So many bad choices for the scenes they were meant to enhance.
Bigger budget and a better cast may have helped.
Robin Hood (2018)
WTF???
What a complete load of TOSH.
Be ashamed of making this. Does the legend mean nothing to you. Shameful. Fail.
Time Trap (2017)
Bravo
Lots of very cool imagination went into this. Limited budget of course but a mind opener.
Well done everyone!!
Earthling (2010)
Hurry up
Some interesting moments early on, but it goes WAY too slow from halfway to the end, plus gets really confused and left me scratching my head. Still not sure what happened and I don't want to watch it again.
Dominion (2015)
Too slow
An interesting premise, some lovely cinematography and pretty decent acting, but it takes SO LONG for a scene to play out. I had to keep hitting the +10 seconds button on my remote.
Arctic Apocalypse (2019)
WHY???!?!?!!! (Spoiler alert)
Yeah look, I always like to try and give the "B Grade" films a bit of credit where it's due, but this one, sadly, is a confusing abomination of epic proportions.
It's like the whole vision was to climb the mountain to victory and make no sense on the way.
Epic Fail on this one, I'm afraid!!
One Under the Sun (2017)
Beyond awful
I always try and find a positive about everything I watch, but this movie is an unmitigated disaster from the first scene to the last.
Truly terrible acting, an incoherent script, confused directing and no one really seemed to know what to make of this mess in the editing suite.
Do not waste a moment of your time with this.
Sadly, I did.
Abominable.
Aussie Gold Hunters (2016)
There's GOLD in that there outback!!!
Despite some overly dramatic scenes here and there, I really love this show and ALL the characters in it. Even makes me want to buy a detector and a lease. Just FYI, there's no WAY I'm gonna be straying on to Vern's lease!!!!!
