Child in the Night (1990)
Way over my expectations of a "cliche" whodunit 90s TV movie
In absolute honesty, I can say without a shadow of a doubt that i wouldn't have even considered watching if it wasn't for the kid that i would debate with ANYBODY is the greatest child actor in movie history. Elijah Wood. And really it took me a while to finally sit down and watch it because i knew i had to. This movie had all the hype of your stereotypical whodunit crime movie that plays late at night. When i sat down and watched it I tried to look past that. I first noticed that i began to really get into the relationship of Luke (Elijah) and the psychologist, which i really wasn't expecting to get that much into the characters. Like all of his movies I really felt for the character Elijah portrayed and hoped everything would work out at the end. I did see flaws in some of the acting and some cliché's followed and I cant help but be lenient about it considering I wouldn't think of it as a "Professional grade movie". Although, With every child movie Elijah wood was in that I watched (almost all of them), It ALWAYS seemed to have an emotional effect on me that night and sometimes even the next morning. With this movie i feel as though its just a "EH, that was pretty good". I'm glad to say i have seen it and i would certainly recommend it to the correct people. But like i said; i couldn't see myself watching this and really appreciating it if it wasn't for Elijah wood being in it.
The Purge (2013)
Swing and a miss
Months before this movie hit theaters, i saw the trailer and was immediately interested. I loved the premise and started telling everybody about the concept and I think everybody in the country started asking "What would you do if there was a purge?" I cant say i have ever been more excited for a movie in my life. The movie started strong with the "Purge feed" and from then just started to fall off the cliff. I see a young boy that I grow no relationship and frankly wouldn't have cared if he died. There's a stupid daughter who i just hated in the beginning. I started getting worried that the film starts the day of the purge just hours before. I began to think that it will he a flashback to explain how the purge began or who the f*** the "New founding fathers" are...NOPE! The movie just jumped into it with little background info. Then i was just overall angry with the stupid evil dude that looks like a sorority's leader. The action is sub-par and I left the theater why they didn't just throw this family in the woods somewhere and go that route with the slasher home invasion film. Do not see this film
The Adventures of Huck Finn (1993)
A fantastic adventure of fun, freedom, and friendship
I found this movie to be outstanding. They took a story as old as time and truly recreated the times of slavery and racism just the way that Mark Twain depicted it. Elijah Wood played an absoulutly phenomenal Huck Finn showing the street smart, warmhearted but troublesome young boy he was created to be, while creating a true grasp of childhood innocence. And Courtney Vance truly did a great job of the noble and kind hearted slave Jim showing the troubles and hard times that slaves have gone through for centuries and depicts the friendship of Huck and him although the struggles they have gone through in the duration of the film. Although the movie wasn't kept in its absolute exact form as the book, the small changes added were smart and just as entertaining. This film is so great, i have watched it at least 5 times, and two days in a row and I am currently considering watching it again at the moment
Loose Change: Final Cut (2007)
i found this to be disrespectful
I found this to be rather offensive, this movie showed no respect to the men and women that tragically lost there lives besides the statement made in the beginning. Not only do they disrespect the government and everybody that runs this country, they disrespect the men and women of flight 93 by making a claim that has not been proved to be true. a cousin of mines best friend past away on flight 93 there's some proof of disrespect right there. some proof against Since i first saw the clip in 2001 of the W.T.C. attack i was silent to show my utmost respect, now i wont be able to watch the clip without thinking about the disrespect shown in this movie.
