Cloud Atlas (2012)
A total waste of time!
45 minutes into this movie I decided to read some reviews. I can only come to the conclusion that those that liked it were only saying it because they got burned spending money on this completely boring movie and didn't want to be the only suckers to do so. Nothing about the first 45 minutes piqued my curiosity one bit. I looked at how long the movie was, then I looked at how much the budget was and how much revenue it generated and I came to a second conclusion, "Could it be that the cast and crew were writing reviews here at IMDb to try and get the ratings up to deceive unsuspecting others to view this sporadically put together movie that completely lacks fluidity? It is not my cup of tea to have to play Rubik's cube in my mind while watching a movie. I want a story that flows and engulfs me, not having to sit and rack my brain in complete boredom and try and imagine where is this story taking me? Mystery? The only mystery about this lackluster movie is the piecing it together & try, if possible, to make some sense of it? Argh, considered thee warned.

Excellent Entertainment; movie is way under-rated.
Great science fiction story and a scenario that could actually become a reality. Movie starts out a bit rough with kiddy's attempt at music which is noise to delicate ears, but, the saving grace is the torture is short lived. Just mute until the action starts which happens rather quickly. If you're into good science fiction this is it. I found this movie better than Robocop. The story has mystery to it that I doubt any movie goer seen coming. The special effects and acting was up there so as not to mark down for. Just open your mind and go with it and you'll be entertained. Nice that this movie doesn't have another long car chase that so many movies have these days that just bores me to tears. After viewing this movie you may be looking for cameras the rest of your life. You have been warned!
Odd Thomas (2013)
very entertaining
I would have given it a ten and you'll know why I didn't when you see the end. This movie will thoroughly entertain several age groups! Excellent story, I haven't read Koontz's books as I only read non-fiction. I thought of the movie "GHOST" while watching, see if you don't do the same. Just the right amount of intrigue, action, and intensity. Anton Yelchin is an excellent actor... as well as most the cast, a couple actors performances were a smidgen less than perfect, blame that on the Director, he is the one telling the story but I found that it didn't detract from the over all movie. Special effects were fine and I found no reason to criticize the computer graphics work. I don't recall seeing the young lady before and found her a delightful addition to the cast. Enjoy.
The Great Gatsby (2013)
reviewed: director/stars/cinematography etc
The story seems rushed to me. Perhaps told in two parts would have brought out a deeper meaning and involvement for the audience. My ratings. Directing: 4.0. Acting 10.0 - Story: 7.0. Fluidity 4.0. Casting: 10.0. Wardrobe 10.0. Am I glad I viewed it, 0.0. Would watch again, 0.0. Special effects I give a rating of 10.0. The love story is heart rendering. Lessons to be learned? Absolutely. Entertainment value I rate 2.0; as it just doesn't flow where I got emotionally involved. I've not seen the original movie with Mia Farrow & Robert Redford so I can't compare the two, nor have I read the book. I'm just revealing what I felt while watching this presentation.
Drift (2013)
Just the surfing camera shots make this a 10
Totally entertaining. We all know modern day culture even the surfer culture so I'll not expound on that. Just the surfing shots in this film make it a 10. Actng is excellent. At the beginning you're told: this is based on actual events, and it isn't hard to see why. We live in a world today where evil abounds... there are some good as well as bad choices in this film. Hopefully the viewers will comprehend the better decisions and if challenged in their life with such... will make the right choices. One can put all aside and just enjoy the surfing; which makes one want to leave the cities and live the life of the GREAT outdoors!
Crazy Kind of Love (2013)
Good story with excellent acting and directing. Enjoy.
Well acted, Madsen is beautiful, Graham Rogers' acting is outstanding. As well is the whole cast. If you're looking for an action adventure movie this isn't it. The movie reveals how some handle life's truly difficult situations in ways other than suicide. (Long term solution for short term problems.) I didn't read the novel "Angel Angel" so I can't tell you much Director Sarah Siegel-Magness deviated, but, she is an excellent story teller & the story flowed. You'll be hoping for everything to work out for all involved through out the movie.
I go to the movies to be entertained and this movie didn't let me down.
No crime, no car chases, no bullets or explosions. Just a good story.
Enjoy
