Once Upon a time in Hollywood Fairy Tale Farce
18 December 2023
Why do I torture myself so?

Just took a second try at "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Why do I torture myself so !?

1. Most of Quentin Tarantino's movies to me are BORING!

2. His overuse of the "F " word. Seems to be when he lacks a word 3. Bruce Lee's against Cliff is laughable 4. Popcorn Lips or Leonardo Dicaprio needs a better acting coach

So many errors in the era story

I mean Rick going up the part of Captain Hils in the Great Escape?

The flame thrower ending scene was such a crock!

I am so glad my local library had it in for me to watch for free. I would have never paid to see this on the theater

To me QT movies are hacks.

I fell asleep on Pulp Fiction 4 separate times, I could only get through half an hour or Django before shutting it .

Did I hear a rumor QT is going to stop making movies? If so I say about Time!

Night Court (2023– )
5/10
Trying to give it a chance.
9 February 2023
I want to like this ,but so far it's not working. I like Melissa and John but the supporting actors are just bland.

The canned laughter is misplaced

And it seems like Lacretta is really over acting in her role.

Dan as a public defender?? And he has lost his edge since he grew the beard!

The flow and pace is unjointed.

But If we look back at the Original Night Court ,it took awhile get the right cast in place . A couple of court clerks, Public Defenders and the passing of Salma and Flo. Then it hit a good pace after a couple of years.

I see this reboot has been renewed for season too. Hopefully it will get better!

Star Trek: Discovery (2017–2024)

I am glad I am not the only one who dislikes Discovery!
6 September 2021
When I saw that they made a new Star Trek show , I was like okay. First off CBS Access or what ever is having you pay to see this worthless show?

2nd as many have stated Those are not the Klingons that Kirk and crew encountered. More the Next Gen ones. They explained it that the Klingons were growing their hair out. That still don't explain the Klingons 3rd the acting is like watching paint dry. BORING.

4th As someone stated here this show is mostly all about Burnham.

5th I borrowed the 3 seasons from my library. FREE!

6 Season 3 really stunk I ended up fast forwarding through a lot of the drivel.

7 It was time for Philippa Georgiou timeline to end.

8 Who is Carl? Lol I heard that there is a 4th season of the show ,plus Picard and lower decks and now one with Captain Pike. CBS is only green lighting these shows cause it about money I can see why Bryan Fuller left shortly once the show started.

Wouldn't it be nice to see Q or Tribbles or a planet like in the episode Piece of the action.

Hogan's Heroes: Cuisine à la Stalag 13 (1970)
Season 6, Episode 1
10/10
Where did Kinchloe go?
9 January 2021
Got a small idea of what happened to Kinchloe a.k.a Ivan Dixon. Yes they did transfer him to another Stalag as Klink and Burkhalter decide things were getting a bit to friendly with the group. So they did a swap with another Stalag. Kinch was still thinking of Kumasa / Carol Dukes. So he escapes to Paris to be with her and they in turn escape to London where he serves out the war And after the war He and Carol now married head back to Detroit where he is discharged and starts a business that he ends up selling and is on the ground floor of Apple computers. He dies in his sleep and his former friends meet in a bar and drink a few toasts to Kinch!

Season 1, Episode 32
If Carter had gone home ..
9 January 2021
Wouldn't that have spoiled Klink's record for no escapes and jeopardized the whole operation?

How would it be explained. I know its just a tv show but still !

This is so not a black comedy for sure
21 January 2019
I like Frances McDormands acting and I was very curious about this movie. I read that the category this is a black comedy . I found this to not be comical at all. I was quite dark indeed.

I was glad that it was on my cables free weekend. I hung in there till the end but it wasn't easy .

Penny Dreadful should be named Pretty Awful
12 May 2014
Had Free Showtime weekend thought the trailer for Penny Dreadful looked interesting. Sort of like The League of Extraordinary Gentleman.

Boy it didn't hold up at all.

I couldn't make heads or tales of this show. Bouncing here and there.

I always like Timothy Dalton as an actor . But this was not a part for him, And Josh Harnett looked like he was sleep walking through this thing

I am so glad it was a free Showtime weekend as it would not be worth paying for

I read that it had only eight episodes perhaps it will get better as it progress's but I doubt it.

Revolution (2012–2014)

It suffered from the Pushing Daisy's dilemma
9 May 2014
The Concept was good, Nanaties(sic) going amok and causing blackouts. Where it went wrong is that They changed the day and time. Than came the Winter Olympics and was off a few weeks, Than once it was revealed that it was nanites (sic)and it was found out that Aaron was the maker of these little devils, it went down hill.

I wonder how many remember the show pushing daisy's it was a good show , did well in the ratings. Than there was the writers strike. Instead of repeating the episodes so viewers could get back into the show rhythm ABC didn't do that and I forgot it was on , couldn't get into it and stopped watching it.

I think this is somewhat happened with Revolution.

Two and a Half Men: Welcome Home, Jake (2014)
Season 11, Episode 17

Are they recycling skits?
18 March 2014
Really tell me they didn't do a rehash or Alan being role playing with Gretchen.

Didn't they do that a few years ago with someone else? It seems the character of Jenny is fading into the background now

And what is up with the Jake wanna be that Walden is working with .

Lyndsey wants to marry Larry but still wants Allan. what is up with that enough already. As I have said before not a fan of Lyndsey's poor placed passing gas and other things

I am watching to see how far Gretchen will go with Alan and will she pass gas after a few more episodes too

I think the jumped the shark long long ago.

Nothing but one liners and one uppers .

Time to go I think!

Nice and Scripted
25 July 2013
I have watched this at least six times. And what I noticed is that Don Henley and Glenn Frey's speech's seem well scripted. "Henley And it was tearing the band apart!" Joe Walsh is just Joe Walsh .

Poor Timothy Schmitt stuck in the middle.

Is it me or does Glenn Frey like to think he is the DeFacto leader of the group? I used to think that maybe Don Felder etc all should get a little more of the pie. But after reading that he is worth $25 million . I am like stop your crying . YOu are still getting paid for Hotel California and etc.

Good movie though if you are an Eagles fan or not!

Two and a Half Men: Welcome to Alancrest (2013)
Season 10, Episode 12

Said it before and am saying it again
12 January 2013
They have run out of story ideas. First it was Courtney Thorne-Smith puking and farting almost every episode she is on.

I agree the Alan character has become pathetic. Does this man ever work or does he just freeload off of everyone. Haven't seen him go to work recently.

Did anyone see the Chuck Lorre Vanity card at the end of this episode? They zip it by so fast you can't read them. But they used the "D" word like 20 times there too.

Just read that CBS may renew the show for an 11th season. My questions is "WHY?" It's not funny anymore.

Still miss this show
2 January 2013
I Still this show. It was a great show , it talked about issues that happen to people of a certain age.

But As Ray Romano said other Networks wouldn't touch it because it didn't have car chases or explosions.

And I guess TNT felt that way too after a bit.

Shame because it was well written , the main actors seemed to have a great chemistry as well Sad that the most popular shows are "Reality Shows!

And now gasp we find out that reality shows are plotted out I.E. Like storage wars.

Tasteless humor
26 November 2012
I have stopped watching two and a half men. The reason is most of the jokes are in poor taste.

I think they went too far when Lyndsey aka Courtney threw up on Walden's plane and She is always passing gas.

Also having Rose come back and cuff and gag Walden is in poor taste as well.

Alan is just too wimpy for my taste and is getting worse.

I can see why CBS put it behind Big Bang Theory. I think it lost viewers after the newness of Aston wore off.

And no Angus aka Jake is telling people to stop watching the show. Okay Angus you get $250, 000 per episode. I hope you saved a lot of money as You are not as cute as you were when you were 8.

Stepping off my soap box

half an hour too much
14 June 2012
I tried to get through the updated version of Dallas. I just couldn't get warmed up to John Ross and Christopher.

The chemistry of the old show just wasn't there.

I could only watch like half an hour of it and erased it from my DVR list.

I wanted to rate this show a zero but You can't go lower than 1 .

Too bad .

Others may like it and more power to you.

I will pass.

I do wish TNT would bring back Men of a Certain Age. The actors in that had a great chemistry.

This is not your fathers Captain America
3 August 2011
I am a Die-hard Captain America fan. I had my doubts reading the premise of the film. They took quite a few liberties with the characters. There are some that I can see to tie in the upcoming Avengers movie. For those of you who do not know Nick Fury was Sergeant in World War II. As we can see Nick Fury as portrayed by Samuel L. Jackson and an Afro American while the Marvel Comics version of Sgt Nick Fury was a Caucasian. Also James "Bucky "Barnes was quite a few younger then Stephen Rogers, not the same age.

So I went into the movie a skeptic. I came out a convert. They did a very good job of staying as true to the Marvel version as they could. I also realized that this in the Ultimate's Version of the Captain America, not the Cap or Yore! If you like action this movie has it, granted some of it may seem a little corny cause part of the movie is sent in the 1940s or BCP(Before Cell phones).

Wait for it to come to Pay per view
3 August 2011
I thought this movie would be a bit more fluid. But to me it was a bit disjointed. It started out fine, like a typical western.

But when the aliens came into play, this to me is where it all went downhill. The sic if western mix just didn't seem to come together at all.

Mind you I like Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford. And I am a new fan of Olivia Wilde. I even like Adam Beach in this movie

It came just under two hours, I know because I checked my watch at least 4 times during the movies. And this is not a good sign when I check my watch more than twice.

Save your money and wait for it to come to pay per view or a free cable weekend.

Wait for pay per view
16 January 2011
I read somewhere where Seth Rogen said he hoped that he did the Green Hornet justice.

Boy was he so wrong.

The 3d was horrible, the sound was tinny like it had been made for radio.

Rogen may have lost weight for this part but if you compare him to the 60's Hornet he was so out of shape.

I am not a fan of the slow mo action scenes. I was basically bored with the movie.

Carmen Diaz basically had a walk on part.

I hate to compare Jay Chou to Bruce Lee because we didn't get to see him do the martial arts in real time. But he was better at fighting then Rogen for sure.

I do hope that a squeal is not made.

My advice is to wait for it to come to pay per view.

Will it make it to 4 episodes
10 January 2011
I thought this would be something of a cool show to watch. I was wrong.

I too noticed a lot of Batman in this show.

Like Orwell is this shows Oracle aka Barbara Gordon of the Batman comics.

The pilot was fine, but not worth watching over again.

The next episode I found to be very boring.

I couldn't wait for it to be over.

I am wondering how long it will be on.

To me it wasn't very original.

Kind of sad to see it actually! I give it four weeks on the air at the most

Not an Oscar Winner
31 October 2010
Just got back from watching this movie. The opening scene was great and I thought that the movie would move faster than it did. I kept wondering when and where Mr. Eastwood would tie the three stories together.

It seemed to drag on and on, at one point I almost went to sleep. I found myself looking at my watch at least four times during the movie. If I look at my watch more than three times it means it doesn't keep me engaged.

I kept saying to myself "Come on Clint tie it together. I knew at some point the three characters would come together but didn't realize that the last fifteen minutes was it would.

One good thing about the movie was showing the fakes physics who will take people's money to speak to the dear departed.

Hey if Houdini could not contact after he was gone , what makes you think anyone else can do it! Myself I don't see this movie being in the theaters very long and will be on video by the first of 2011. Will it get an Oscar nod? I doubt it very much. Will it make back the money spent on it? Nope! Save your money and wait till it comes on cable, at least you will have commercials to give you a break!

See it on the big screen
19 July 2008
Went to see the Dark Knight today. Everything I had heard about Heath Ledgers performance, as "The Joker" was true.

As I watched him in his last role, I could utilize Caesar Romero as the 60's Joker and Jack Nicholson's performance as the 80's Joker. Then made the role his own.

Anarchy is Jokers first rule, as many know from the Comic books.

Maggie Gyllenhaal did a fine job replacing Katie Holmes as Rachel Dawes Aaron Eckhart came into play Harvey Dent the coin flipping Gorham District Attorney.

Christian Bale, Gary Oldman Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman return in their roles as Bruce Wayne/Batman, James Gordon, Alfred and Mr. Fox respectively Eric Roberts role as mob boss Salvatore Maroni is okay, but he is nothing more then a set up man for Ledgers "Joker" "The Joker" is sort of a mirror of "The Batman." I enjoyed the bat cycle. Bale says there is only one man who can drive that cycle and he wasn't one of them.

There were some tense moments with the citizens of Gorham but in the end good won out over evil.

See this on the big screen it is worth the coin Now the next question is will there be a third Batman movie who would play "The Joker?" Will they bring in the Cat woman character? I am thinking a good choice would be Jessica Biel.

The Producers (2005)

Not as good as the original
12 July 2008
I have been a Mel Brooks fan for many, many years. Blazing Saddles, Spaceballs, High Anxiety, History of the world part one, and young Frankenstein.

And of course the Producers with Zero Mostel, Gene Wilder, Kenneth Mars etc. What Mostel and Wilder had is film was chemistry and it could not be duplicated by this remake.

It probably was very good on Broadway, but it didn't transfer to the movie screen.

Matthew Broderick as Leo Bloom was too bland for my taste. Nathan Lane can be a bit annoying.

Uma Thurman looked great in her part as Ula the Swedish bombshell.

Then what really ruined the movie for me was Will Ferrell. As usually Ferrell over played his part.

I am so glad I got the chance to get this DVD from my local library. I shut it off halfway through Sorry Mel but that is my opinion

Great Tribute to the Original
24 June 2008
If ever a remake of a an television series was worthy of being good, this is the one Agent 86 a.k.a. Maxwell Smart is played by Steve Carrell . He plays this role just to the hilt without going overboard.

Anne Hathaway plays Agent 99. Who knew that the kid from Princess Diaries could look so sexy. She has just enough attitude to try and put Maxwell Down a peg or two.

Dwayne Johnson plays Agent 23, the suave James Bond type of spy. But is allowed to ham it up for a few laughs..

The start of the movie gives a brief nod to the original show by some memoriblia from the original . This will later be seen again , I will try not to reveal too much.

Look for the appearances of the Control Agents in the film here and there.

Also, look for a cameo of one the old shoes actors. Don't blink because you might miss them.

I laughed so hard I had tears.

Worthy of the $10.50 I spend to go see.

No wonder I see Horror Films as Comedies
23 May 2008
We had STARZ free weekend and I switched on the station to see what was on . It was this movie Howling II: The acting was terrible but the eye candy was great. Sybil Danning and Marsha Brown as the afore mentioned eye candy. I was laughing a lot from the few scenes I saw.

My friends wonder why I never want to go to Horror movies , If they saw this film they would know why. I would get thrown out for laughing so hard.

Just a couple of trivia notes : Reb Brown who played Ben White had played Captain American in a made for TV movie Marsha Brown was Mick Jaggers inspiration for the song "Brown Sugar" Mick has great taste in women for sure.

Think I'll pass
13 May 2008
We had HBO free weekend awhile back and this movie was on. What I caught of it was disgusting. Two naked men on a bed and then the chubby little guy chased the tall skinny guy into a reception hall screaming "Eat my !@#" I couldn't hit the next channel button fast enough.

I saw trailers on this movie as well. I didn't find them that humorous either.

Sasha Cohen was on the junkets in full character as well. I didn't really see what the big deal was with this guy.

Mind you I have a very warped sense of humor. But this was not funny

I will pass on this should it come on again.
