Vega$: No Way to Treat a Victim (1981)

Phyllis Davis Very Underrated Actress
10 May 2022
This has become one of my top 5 episodes of Vega$, and I especially enjoy the acting. Elissa Davalos was a peach when we were in third grade, and Bob Ulrich was super screen-friendly. When I was allowed to watch this growing up I most remember this episode and how our women deserve our protection... I always dig the cars, and all the file footage of my favorite city in the USA!!! Great acting and directing all around, and post-production was consistent...

Format Unlike Others! Great One...

I enjoyed this episode if for only one reason - okay, two - the transitions were perfectly timed, and the script was NOT cheesy - thanks to Nick Can't Say No!!! Last for Judy Landers - and I'll leave it at that : )

The Crevice and A Bit of Lionshead, To Boot!
8 February 2022
This show has become my second go-to these days, just after Columbo, I was fortunate enough to take a Family ski trip to Vail, Breckenridge, and Aspen during this time frame. I got lost and wound up getting on a lift directly behind Gerald Ford. The Secret Service had uzis molded in to their ski boots. I was 10 or 11, and they took care of me. Everything about this wonderful episode reminds me of that great day. The Hofbrau had excellent schnitzel. Great scenes in this, good acting and directing. And, lastly, Good Night My Darling...

Drive- in Classic You Got Your Money's Worth From
5 December 2021
So many reviews and I'd like to add that this was, and remains, a multi-faceted story with good acting and cool scenery. Certainly underrated and possibly before its time. Watched this with a date in high school at the Paramount Drive-In. We were in my 52 Olds with vinyl tuck n roll. Manual everything, except starter - which skipped a lot... But we had warm roasted cashews and fresh popcorn, as I recall. It was a great time in America.

Some Kinda Fun
4 December 2021
This one has it all - blown-up stuff with dynamite arrows, Roscoe gettin' outfoxed by Daisy and 110 gallons of oil, gun runnin' and arms dealin', UFO's and Swamp Gas (We don't have a swamp in our backyard...), and all the Dukes foiling Boss Hog's get-rich scheme! I recommend.

Character Set-Up - Great tv
2 December 2021
As the second installation of the series many characters are introduced and there is a clear direction for the show. The narration is especially a huge part of this show, and it becomes clear that there will be weekly guest actors/actresses... Even though much of the filming for the pilot took place in Atlanta, the move to the back lot at Universal was okay by my standards... The crew was able to film country scenes up at Gorman and the Simi Ranch of my boy Ronnie Rayguns... The fbli (federal bureau of lack of info) didn't get their man, and the Folk of Hazard County had a happy ending...

Lovely and Super Christmasy
30 November 2021
As much as I appreciate 70's and 80's Christmas episodes, this is one that I play every Christmas Eve - along with an abstract episode of Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew... They don't make them like they used to (remember our Grandparents saying that?)...

Totally Hip
16 November 2021
I seem to be more and more biased in loving shows that my Rents watched, yet I didn't - homework, sleep after football practice, going on dates with cute girls but now catching up with good t v... This one has cinematography and crispness in the acting.. I also appreciate the sound quality - all before digital = and all very revealing... grew up less than 20 miles away from theses sets...

Okay - But Not Deserving of Top-Rated
16 November 2021
Dan Tanna, er - I mean Spenser - is hooked into a case where his friend is targeted and winds up in the hospital... I think this is a fine example of 80's over-acting and poor on-screen appearance... Some of the worst looking and acting cast members of anything since - I don't know, probably nothing... super bad but I expected as much since it is the top-rated on here... nice job, follkes...

Cold War Comes to Vega$
28 October 2021
I never understood when critics said, "This episode has a lot to offer", but this one does... Beginning with the shot of a Harrier landing vertically, to the defection of a Russian spy, to some very nice looking actresses in cool 70's gitups... I liked it and enjoyed it - will watch again soon... i am a Veca$ fan!

The Brady Bunch: The Slumber Caper (1970)

A Gaggle of Giggling Girls!
21 April 2020
This episode rings-in suspense from the beginning, as Jan, Marcia, and Cindy are pacing by the base of the famous Brady Stairs as they await the outcome of Mike and Carol's discussion taking place behind a closed door in Mike's den. We pan-in to a distressed-looking Mike who shakes his head and says to Carol, "I guess Jan and Cindy are in on this, too?", "Well," replies Carol, "It wouldn't be a slumber party without them," - And the plot begins! At first the boys are very glum, especially Greg, who will have to avoid one of Marcia's friends who has a hang-up on him (Paula Tardy). And then, Marcia winds up in the Principal's Office facing a stern-looking E.G. Marshall. She is accused of doodling Mrs. Denton and including a rude caption. Although we see Marcia being very adamant that she didn't do it, the official assigns her detention for the week and phones Mr. and Mrs. Brady to fill them in. Mike and Carol force the cancellation of the slumber party and all you-know-what ensues. Marcia is more upset and disrespectful toward Mike and Carol that we will ever see on the series, the boys are left dejected since they won't be able to play stunts on the girls, and Hope Sherwood, playing Jennie Wilton (Producer's daughter) left in real tears after Marcia accuses her of a set-up and un-invites her to the now back-on get-together. The shining moment for the boys comes when Mike comes in their room and announces the party to be "Back on!". "It is," asks Peter - "Yep." says Mike, while Bobby giggles boyishly, "hooray!". "What's the matter with him?" asks Mike - "Oh, that dumb dough-dough laughs at everything." - "Oh, he does, does he?" Mike leaves with suspicion. That's my favorite part! As you may incline, the party is a real girl-fest and Alice serves them all hot-dogs and potato salad (which she forgets). The lights are turned off and ghost stories begin (Eve Plumb a real story-teller!), the strange events follow! Tune-in to one of my all-time great t.v. episodes and see what happens next! Aloha, Kamaiinas. Brady Bunch rocks! Still and always...

TV Sequel Delight
3 April 2020
The Brady Bunch is surprised and delighted to be going to Oahu - even Alice cheers and whistles (feigned ear-plugging by Mike and Carol). When they get there Bobby and Peter explore Mike's project (the reason they went to Oahu in the first place) and Bobby stumbles upon an ancient mini-statue. He makes it a "good luck" charm and wears it around his neck. To Hawaiians, this statue is Taboo and Taboo brings bad luck to all who touch. Events begin to unfold and the statue becomes an unwanted find. But the Brady Boys visit David "Lippy" Lipman and discover the way to ditch their bad karma... Will the plan work? Find out next week...
