Applause for the effort
23 February 2012
...I am European, and therefore LOVE Tintin.

I am absolutely in awe of this adaption in terms of graphics and execution.

The first half hour is spent being amazed and in love with the entirety of it all, in its full Technicolor.

The second half hour somehow gets a tad stale, and the last half hour is so apart from the comics, it's not even interesting to follow through.

In other words, almost the complete opposite of the comic books, which were a bit rough around the edges, but NEVER missed out on the excitement.

A worthy effort, and I can readily comprehend the man hours that got in to creating this. Yet I find myself admiring more the single man who created, wrote and executed the original...

4/10 for me.

Decent idea isn't spelled with an S

I happened to love the pilot, and was excited about the follow-ups.

Instead of exploring the great initial idea for the show, they've strayed into a regular run-of-the-mill medic show, which is fine, had it not been that so many other shows already do that much better than this.

I think it's very sad, and a lost opportunity, that they've squandered a good premise in this way.

All that's left now of the "spirit" / "ghost" theme, is that she's acting as a voice-over, albeit appearing visually. And a pretty dull one, at that.

By far the best offering of the season

I want to give this a 10/10, but realistically it cannot follow up on itself and deliver again and again, so a 9/10 seems fair at this point.

I adore the set-up, the basic idea, and the execution of it all.

Add to the mixture the hottest guy alive with a classy, nerdy brains as a side-kick, and you cannot go wrong.

This is superior to most shows airing right now, although it has slipped a tad recently.

I hope the series gets great scripts and producers to follow up on its initial success, and build on it.

Huge potential, for sure. But also showing tendencies to slip back into formula A1, Prime Show, just in order to get a renewal.

If anybody involved with this series is reading this, I urge you to keep it special, and stray as far off the main formula as possible. You will reap awards.

Star Trek: Voyager (1995–2001)

SciFi at its greatest

Yes, there are some weak moments in this series, but hardly woth mentioning, and never what makes you think back.

I think, when all is said and done, that this series has incorporated the most number of science facts with science fiction that I can recall, and in a splendid way.

I love Captain Janeway, I love her command and the absolute loyalty she levies over the entire crew in a far-flung star-system.

It is of no use knowing that this star-system is within the Milkyway Galaxy, at all. (DELTA quadrant is no way more feasable than the ANDROMEDA). Yet, she is sticking to the Earth Code, if you like, even then, and that is what makes this such a thrilling piece to watch for us, stuck in the 2010s.

If I had a billion dollars, and started a new venture, I'd make sure Janeway was my CEO in it. She'd lead us straight, and she'd pull through. And I think this fact, that she is alway true to her roots (Federation, i.e. post-Nazi-World) is what makes this series such a compulsory watching material.

There would be no use for Tom Paris, Tuvok, Harry Kim or The Holoctor, if it weren't for Janeway, yet it is subtly induced in all of us watching, that this is as far as Earthlings can go...

Love this series, and the science in it is still pretty much avantgarde, probably more true than not.

AMAZING.
