Renegade Nell (2024)
Waste of time. Such rubbish
I had high hopes! I hoped it would be something like Dick Turpin (old version) or something well made and entertaining.
Its starts out well. The first 10 is pretty good and BOOOM downhill from there.
All the great effort is clothing and placement is totally destroyed in a whiney overplayed main character that is surrounded with even more overplayed and whiney characters.
The bad guy is classically boring. The Bad guys sister is even more boring, the main characters siblings are weird and uninteresting.
Suddenly the English court talks Danish (????) which im pretty sure was never the case for the queen. Where the H... did that come from?
Dont waste time with this.
Zorro (2024)
Worst soap opera ever
Wow ... just wow. Imagine sittting down to write a script for a TV show based on a 100 year old famous books series / story and come up with something like this AND then go find a Director that can possible make it even worse. Its something of a acomplishment. I was so fasinated by the bad wording, bad director and bad actor (mind you, the actor typically follows the directors direction, so you cant blame them) that I had to watch several episodes, but finally after E08, I had enough and laughing and crying over the whole cirkus.
Its all like a bad Latin Soap Opera. You know whi the Bad Guy is from the start based on his looks and dress and you know who the good guys are from the same.
Dont even bother unless you want a good laugh.
Napoleon (2023)
Tired of Romanticized and incorrect Historical movies
Im only focused on the historical aspect here ... and I only mentions a couple of out many here
In the beginning, Napoleon abandons a battle at the Egyptian pyramids because Joséphine is unfaithful at home in Paris. It is pure fiction.
Much later, when the two have divorced, he marches on Paris from his famous exile on the island of Elba, because he is jealous that the Russian Tsar Alexander is apparently taking a swing with Joséphine. From whom Napoleon, by the way, has long since divorced.
It is a distortion of history of the worst kind. Joséphine dies of pneumonia in 1814. Napoleon first marches on Paris in 1815 to regain power, a wild story that could be a whole movie in itself.
If you´re gonna make an expensive movie like this, get things right instead of just making romantic stuff up.
Bama Rush (2023)
LOL "The Machine" uhhhhhh LOL. Great Documentary!
Really interesting documentary with a personal double perspective of both Pledgers and Director.
I enjoyed for several reasons and it made me shake my head in disbelief and laugh as well.
First, I consider attending Bama after a year in High School close by. I chose another in Tennessee and watching this, Im still happy about my choice.
I remember the knuckleheads pledging and I never quite understood the American youth urge to belong and be accepted in that way. But I guess that's why they have an ocean of different Religious belief too.
Instead I chose to study, drink and have fun with others while we laughed at the Sorority/fraternity people.
Back to Bama .... I feel bad for these Sorority girls who suffers from anxiety, lack of self-worth and the constant hunt for acceptance. I breaks my heart that they have such and urge to belong to and with others and they think it will make their life better.
Its scary to hear one of them tell how they have all been Roofied one night by the boys and tell it like it was just another natural thing that happens and they have to accept it.
What made me laugh was "The Machine" uhhhhh The thought of some 20 testosterone and hormone pumped young people age 19-22 sitting in a damp basement 11 pm and think they rule the world really made the whole documentary better and its sad that the University allow this to happen because its clearly that the Head Master / President of Bama is in on it. Just the fact that when he heard about the Documentary made the he wrote to HBO, the Producers AND FBI. LOL.
Also, the old "Grand-ma" who repeatedly claimed "Don't mess with the Machine and there will be consequences" had me laughing too. Had I been young, I would have enjoyed to "mess with the Machine". LOL
Next you have the Rumors of infiltration during the Rush and "20 people with microphone". First of all, whats the problem in that? Second, we all know young peanuts and how they love to get exited and make up rumors.
It was fun to follow the panic and its proved again the American need for Conspiracy and their belief that Conspiracy exists all over because they from an early age participate in secrecy and conspiracy.
I found the whole documentary interesting, well made and laughed a lot along the way. I hope the same producers make one about Fraternities and really put a scare in the young boys and their "MACHINE" uhhhhhhhhh LOL.
Raising Dion (2019)
It becomes painful
Trying to fight my way through the S1, but its painful.
It had a lot of potential, but after 3 episodes Im fast forwarding every time the mother (Alisha Wainwright) is on. Alisha Wainwright is a great actress so I dont know why the Director(s) displayed the mother as a hysterical stereotype woman that gets all crazed up every time the son does something. It just doesnt make sense and it kind of ruins the whole show. Im going to give a few more episodes, but if she doesnt cool down, Ill have to break away. It a shame as it could have been good.
Let see what will happen. It can only get better :-)
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law (2022)
Argh I cant believe how bad this is
Ok, the actors are doing their best and I have to believe they all acted under the Directors supervision and preformed how he wished the to perform.
But from the 2 episodes so far, Kat Coiro should never be allowed to come near a Directors chair again.
The actors are clearly over playing their role and expressions, the family sounds like voices taken from Back to the Future Part II and the whole thing is just jabbing through the story. Not even the amazing Mark Ruffalo is playing well and it take some effort to screw up anything he is doing.
You just have to ask yourself .... why? Why? Why?
And who is going to give me back the time I spend on this?
Please please scarp the whole ting and start all over or dont even start again
Waste of time and what a disappointment.
The Man Who Fell to Earth (2022)
Interesting story
With sort of 1984 Starman story in there.
An Alien comes to earth in search of answers and looking for another alien from which he takes directions.
So far, so good. Chiwetel Ejiofor is excellent and I just cant help watching anything Bill Nighy is in. He is just so great.
Im not crazy about Naomie Harris performance. Either she is weirdly directed or the way she portray her character just doesnt fit me.
She is weirdly scared of everything despite she plays a brilliant Scientist on the edge of something new. Its just doesnt make sense to me.
Anyway, so far, a great and interesting show.
The First Lady (2022)
Amazing show! Top Notch! I cant wait for more episodes
Let me be straight here. The cast is just incredible and each main character are performing so great that you are dragged into it.
You can understand and appreciate what each individual were going through and what it took for them to get through. Very well done.
Some Reviews are babbling about some actors "lips" ... I mean, come on. Get a life. I was actually laughing so hard when I read them.
If you cant see past that, you really dont deserve to watch the show :-)
Invasion (2021)
4 eps into it : its becoming more boring
So earth is being invade ... once again, but after 4 eps you´re not much wiser than eps 1. It really more about people. Their fears and relations, but its quite boring as there are about 100 shows that covers this.
The Invastion is much like War of the Worlds in any of the 50 versions made by now, only this one seems to never give much of anything or make you smarter. Watch the first 15 min of eps 1 and then skip to eps 5, I wish I could get the time I used for eps 2+3+4 back.
Bridgerton (2020)
So looked forward to it, but found it utterly boring
On the surface, it has it all and so much potential.
Great period in History, High Society, Class, fantastic costumes and then it falls flat on its A**.
The story has been told over and over and over again.
Family with many daughters, Important of status, Jealousy, Macho, Honor and poor choices.
And poor choices are something that is so utterly repeated again and again that (I) find it unbelievable and boring.
Too bad .... and what a waste.
Roadkill (2020)
Yes, Minister with a serious tone
I found it to be a great show full of twists and raw political ambition.
ok, sometimes there is a little too much explaining and home drama, but over all well played. I enjoyed it and I really hope there will be a second season as there are lots of things in the bag.
Well done.
Romulus (2020)
So Slooooooooooow
Interesting project and well made when it comes to filming and scenography, but its very very slow and you tend to lose interest. Even though im a history nerd, I found it hard to relate to many of the characters, the way they are portrayed and their actions.
Hillbilly Elegy (2020)
Its not bad, but not very memorable either
Ron Howards movies are mostly memorable and its a shame this is not.
The story had great potential, but I felt it was held back by the reason that it should be somewhat true to the book and authenticity of what really happen which also makes it a little bit boring.
But what bothered me the most was that the only really good actor in the whole movie was Glenn Close. She just out performed all of them (kind of like Allison Janney in "I, Tonya") on so many levels and you kind of wish that the story was all about her and her life instead of the main character. Owen Asztalos and Gabriel Basso that played young and older J.D. Vance was just not convincing enough and looked like they just came from the Summer Stock.
Luchshe, chem lyudi (2018)
Im nor sure
Set a bit in the future, a state of the art Android is has been stolen and purchased by another Android maker who seeks to copy it. The Android escapes and attaches itself to another family who has lots of problems on their own and suddenly they find themselves in the middle of a Corporate plot while each of the family members are dealing with their own issues.
Its not a bad show, but maybe it should be watched in the original language and with subtitles. The English voices just make everybody seem and sound like Androids. It seriously sounds like every male has the same speaker and the same with the females. It kind of puts you off and it gets a bit tiresome.
It reminds me of when you watched Western movies in East Europe and both males and females had the same male speaker :-)
Anyway, as I said, its not bad at all but not really revolutionary either.
Aunty Donna's Big Ol' House of Fun (2020)
YAWN
Ok, thats the dumbest and weirdest thing I have ever seen.
I did eps 1 and 10 min of eps 2 and hand to realize that it was 30 min of my life I will never get back.
I mean, I like good comedy. Big fan in fact, but this is just stupid and you have to be mega high to find this a bit funny.
Sorry ....
Away (2020)
Utterly boring
Im fighting my way through every episode.
Its so hard to relate to Commander Green that seems to include every emotion and drama of a thousand families. I just dont find it realistic that any professionel astronaut would go through this and that spoils the show IMO.
Too much "I want to go home, I want to go back ect ect"
It could have been good, too bad it chose to focus to much on domestic issues.
Origin (2018)
Yawn ... waste of time
This could have been so much better and yet just about ever character is unbelievable in both their "Earth life" and how they behave on the ship. It just doesn't add up and that makes all episodes painful to watch.
Too bad. I love a good sci-fy
Cobra Kai (2018)
Just about all you can hope for
As properly many others, Karate Kid, was a favorite movie of mine as a "kid".
This series takes it to a new levels and you get a much better understanding of both Johnny and Daniel. Epecially Johnny, who you get to know real well and why be became a jerk later when he was young.
In todays world, both Daniel and Johnny has "Grown-up" problems they have to deal with and though they try to draw from what they have learned in life, its far from enough and both comes out at adults with plenty of failures.
There is humor and there is seriousness which every adult can relate to and properly young people too. Parents are old fashion and kids are annoying and unpredicable. Johnny (William Zabka) handles his role fantastic and he delivers his part. Im a fan! Daniel is .... Ralph Macchio. Not the greatest actor, but does a good job.
Its not a nail biter, but it brings jo down memory lane is such a great way than you have no problem bench watching it. I could do 10 more episodes right now.
I hope there will be a season 2 !
The Philadelphia Experiment (2012)
Argh ..... wasted effort
I had looked forward to this and I was so disappointed. What a wonderful movie the first was ..... and now this
Acting awful despite good actors .... must be the directors fault.
There are under-laying music during the whole movie which is properly the only way they thought they could get excitement up with the viewers.
Its just awful, awful, awful.
What a shame ....... it could really have been good
Why would anybody do this and spoil the memory of an excellent movie is pitiful.
