See (2019)
Binge worthy!
This isn't perfect (apart from Momoa.... swoon) but it's definitely entertainment and I was easily able to suspend my disbelief. I couldn't stop watching it. It's gripping, brutal, dark, mysterious, frightening and I just love the concept. Are there things I could complain about? Sure! But certainly not enough to make me stop watching. Don't let other people's negative opinions put you off, just watch with an open mind and form your own opinions. Maybe you'll be entertained just as I was.
London Road (2015)
Irritating
I can see how this might appeal to some for it's unique approach.... but I couldn't see it through to the end. Now I love a musical, don't get me wrong, but this was just irritating.
I just wanted to know the story!! The way they kept singing the same line, or in this case, local comments, just dragged the whole thing out. I didn't have the patience for it, I'll just google and read the outcome of this true story there instead.
Greenfingers (2000)
Sweet and Uplifting
An easy to watch film. Light, uplifting with relatively uncomplicated story about second chances, human connection and the therapeutic benefits of gardening. I really enjoyed this.
The Pier (2011)
Sad and slow with nowhere to go
Im glad people out there really like this, but i'ts not for everyone. The acting and characters were great but the story was monotonous, sad and just went nowhere. I'm all for a real story but give me something! No romance, no real resolutions, no connections. I like all genre's but this was depressing. I barely made it to the end.
Overfed & Undernourished (2014)
Great documentary creating awareness
I don't understand the 2 low rated reviews here. This is a great little documentary giving us a peek into the lives of one family trying to support a young man suffering from obesity. Liam weighs 80kg and he himself is aware that if he doesn't make changes he will die at a young age. His uncle - a health professional, and his aunt, agree to take Liam into their home and guide him through a very tough period. Educating him on healthy eating and regular exercise. The movie also shows that your emotional wellbeing very much plays a part in your overall health.
Liam works his arse off.... there are hiccups along the way which anyone trying to change their way of life can relate to.
The review claiming his Uncle and Aunt are cruel must have been watching a different movie! They told him he IS awesome and that he just needed to believe in himself... this was at a time when he was tired and hating himself, his Aunt knew he had more to give. Hello?? Anyone done a PT session? Some people need a push! I think they are amazing people to care so much about him that they turned their own lives upside down to help Liam. I can't imagine how incredibly grateful Liam must be. I think he's incredibly brave and should be so proud of himself.
Eye opening and moving.
