Assignment - Paris (1952)
What a complete Failure!
Well, so what was the net of this story? The Americans lost an editor, who was killed and a Hungarian patriot, Gabor. Gabor was not killed by the Communists but sent to a camp where I am sure he was maltreated. On the Hungarian side, they had a dangerous story suppressed, recaptured an enemy of the state, and had a coupe of agents arrested in Paris.. How is this anything but a major win for the Communists.
Sarah's War (2018)
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
The acting was minimal to say the least. The characters were boring and uninteresting. The "German" accent was atrocious. Are there no English speaking German actors who could have played the part to give it some credibility? And this was only after 5 minutes. I suspect that if I hung in, I would have sided with the German.
Outsiders (2016)
Stupidest, most unrealistic show on TV
Where to begin with this drek? The ridiculous costumes? These seem to be a mish mash of Max Max, Braveheat, and WWE. The plot is Theunrealistic and infantile. If a major coal company was being held up by these type of antics, the state police would be sent in. Murder. Kidnapping. Violence in the town. thievery. I don't understand what makes these cretins appealing. Oh, did I forget to mention inbreeding? The sheer stupidity of this series beggars belief. Also the acting is to say the least, pedestrian. I can't imagine that the good people of Eastern Kentucky are happy with this portrayal. To each his own.
Day of Wrath (2006)
OMG - This has to rank as one of the top ten worst movies I have ever seen
First of all, the movie contains Brian Blessed of "I, Claudius" and "Blackadder" fame. The description of the movie also held great promise. However, as the movie unfolds, the promise is never kept. The storyline is boring, contrived, and one of the stupidest I have ever witnessed. Not only were many of the devices used in the plot silly, they made no sense whatsoever. As if that weren't bad enough, the acting was horrible. My wife and I were hysterical during parts of it, and it is not a comedy. At the end of it, we put on Mel Brook's "The Inquisition" bit from History of the World. At least that was a comedy. What the connection between this thing and the 1943 version is absolutely beyond me. You have been forewarned.
Christmas with a Capital C (2011)
In and out in 5 minutes
In an America that has an increasingly diverse population, it is astounding that people do not GET IT. Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, Muslims, and atheists all pay taxes and are citizens. Seasons greetings is appropriate. Merry Christmas and religious displays paid for with my tax money, not OK. Unless the city also wants to fund Hanukkah, Quanza, Winter Solstice and Ramadan displays as well.
In five minutes of watching, the mayor quickly displays a stubborn streak that can be a disaster in a public official. He mayor completely ignores all his civic responsibilities to serve his private believes. Being set in Alaska, I guess this explains Sarah Palin.
