The Matrix Resurrections (2021)
Expected nothing and still got dissapointed
I remember watching the original back in 1999 and it blew my mind. The plot, the characters, the music, the atmosphere... So many memorable scenes. It was perfect. I still rewatch it at least once a year. It's so good.
Welcome to 2021. I knew this is going to be a cash grab, but didn't expect it to be SO BAD. Weak characters, no memorable scenes or dialogues, everything about it is very generic and forgettable. It's so dull and boring I had a hard time staying awake (lol). They really put the last nail in the coffin with this one.
And whats with that horrible remix of RATM Wake Up at the end credits? I was already pissed off by a terrible cash grab movie and they use this disgusting remix just to piss off the fans even more.
Jujutsu Kaisen (2020)
Overrated copy of Naruto
The first few episodes got my interest, but soon the hype evaporated. There is nothing original in this show. They obviously copying Naruto & Bleach. The main character has a monster inside him that grants him powers - just like Naruto. Vessel - Jinchuriki from Naruto. Cursed energy - Chakra from Naruto. Teams of 3 - just like Naruto. Teacher Gojo a carbon copy of Kakashi from Naruto. "Kyoto Sister School Exchange Event" - just like "Chunnin Exams" in Naruto. It's ridiculous how copy/paste and unoriginal this show is. Most of the characters are generic, forgettable and replaceable. Halfway into the season it get's boring real quick as it's just a rehashed content from other animes.
Mortal Kombat: Conquest (1998)
Actually good
Yeah the fighting is laughable, but boy this show is entertaining. Great characters, cool stories, sexy babes everywhere and Jeffrey Meek the best Raiden/Shao Khan ever. They must've had a blast filming this. The 3 movies and Legacy series don't even come close to this entertainment wise.
Mortal Kombat (2021)
Worse than the original
There is no story, just random fighting. They failed to recreate the 'Mortal Kombat' atmosphere the original movie has. ALL of the characters are terrible and borderline cringy except for Sub-Zero. They did Sub-Zero really good and CGI was cool. The main character is some random dude they made up on the spot, I could not believe this.
Superman & Lois (2021)
Even more cringe than Supergirl
It's a boring and cringe chick flick with mediocre acting made for teenage girls as the target audience. Way to ruin a big name with huge potential.
Raised by Wolves (2020)
Started so good and then...
The first episodes were solid 8/10, a new sci-fi show with huge potential, so I thought. After 4 episodes the show turns into an unwatchable sci-fi parody and dies with the last episode (the worst one). It will make you question the sanity of the writer.
Wonder Woman 1984 (2020)
Very disappointing
I just saw the movie and I got to say it's a major downgrade from the first. The dark atmosphere that DC has been so good is nowhere to be found. Everything about this movie is silly, cringe and boring.
Looks like all the budget went to the trailer which was really good and got me intrigued to watch the movie in the first place. They didn't even use the song "Blue Monday" from the trailer and replaced it with some lame generic beat.
At best it's a silly movie for children, even if that. I wish for 2h 30min back.
The Terminator (1984)
Remember when Terminator was sci-fi horror?
"The Terminator" gave me nightmares when I saw it as a kid. That's how much of an impact it had!
This movie has everything: rich dark atmosphere, Schwarzenegger as the villain, explicit scenes, violence, intense chases, 80s soundtrack and a very meaningful love story. It's a brutal, relentless, and cold Science Fiction Action/Thriller with horror and slasher undertones. It's exactly everything and anything I could want out of a Terminator film. T2 and everything that came after it don't even come close to this masterpiece.
The Matrix (1999)
You can't be told what the matrix is, you have to see it for your self
1999: What A Year! The Matrix, Fight Club, Being John Malkovich, American Beauty, The Sixth Sense, The Insider, Magnolia...
The Matrix is one of the greatest and one of my favorite movies of all time. It really identifies and analyze the boundaries of perception and perspective between reality and fiction. The performances, special effects, story, and music was spectacular and fantastic. It really changed everything for movies at the time. Set a new bar for excellence. I just wish the sequels were as great... but they rarely are. To this day I still watch it and I consider it a classic. It never gets old.
