Wildlike (2014)

I liked the film- thoughtful, visually engrossing, and deft in the complicated unraveling of the protagonist's story with a sensitivity that conveys a genuine understanding of humanity's harsher realities. Greenwood and Purnell delivered in what I'd have to call the redemption of all things good in humanity in an environment that doesn't nurture such things. Inspiring. Good storytelling here is the reason. Dealing with subject matter as potentially volatile and devastating as this can be without losing sight of the story is a very good summation of Frank Hall Green's skill as a filmmaker. I wouldn't be surprised if WILDLIKE became something of a benchmark film for a number of organizations who provide services and support for victims. This isn't a story of victimization however- it's the story of resilience and how even the simplest of gestures can result in profound hope and recovery. Highly recommend!

A great old fashioned western- with aliens!

An adventure that captures your curiosity and commands your attention. A couple of good stories within the story delivered with the kind of nuance that Ford, and more recently, Craig have built promising careers on.

Cowboys & Aliens; more satisfying than Joss Wheedon's "Firefly"... sorry Joss, I liked Firefly- just liked the action in Cowboys & Aliens more. It doesn't always have to be the good guys vs. the bad guys only in a blinding, dazzling explosion of cataclysm but sometimes it can be fun.

This is a pioneering revenger replete with brawls, laser guns, saddle-tramps, bandits, lawmen, monsters, underdogs, top-dogs, pretty gals, dusty trails, flying saucers, Indians, and pretty much everything else you can think of thrown in for good measure!

The success of this picture stems from the balance and direction Favreau gives his cast and crew, which I can only assume was " Play it straight... remember what you're fighting for in this scene...". It appeared to me that's what they did. Not one weak performance in the film. Its been a long time since I've said that, no doubt it will be a long time before I say it again.
