Great Cast - Terrible movie
14 February 2021
I thought this might be a funny movie we could just watch as a no brainer kind of night.

There is no plot. It just goes on and on from one pointless interaction to another. I laughed a few times, but that is it.

The cast is fantastic, I thought they'd make the movie. Unfortunately, they couldn't save it.

This was terrible.

This was probably the worst film I saw in all of 2019. Poorly acted, directed, and written. Please avoid it at all costs, and see any other movie.

No, no, no. Terrible, terrible, terrible.

This is terrible. I have watched a few episodes now thinking maybe it would get better, but it hasn't.

None of the characters are in any way likable. They are rude, pretentious and totally unbelievable. They have no redeeming qualities whatsoever.

The show attempts to be witty, but comes across as rude and offensive. Satire is an art, and the makers of it do not have the ability to write it.

Do not waste your time with this show. With any luck, it will be canceled soon. But knowing TV networks, this will keep going and other shows worth watching will be kicked off the air.

The Muppets (2011)

Fantastic
26 November 2011
Warning: Spoilers
I have loved the Muppets since I was a kid, watching the TV shows with great enthusiasm. While I liked the movies like "Muppets Treasure Island" and "Muppets Christmas Carol", I had longed for a return to the variety act type show I remembered as a kid.

This movie did not disappoint. It was right back to the same style and feeling of the original show. All the old characters that we loved were there.

It all begins when the Muppet Theatre is slated for demolition and the evil buyer (Chris Cooper) is going to use the area to drill for oil. The Muppets have to come together for a telethon to raise the money to save their old theater. Over the years, the Muppets have all gone their own ways and are doing their own things. Kermit and his friends (Amy Adams and Jason Segal along with a new Muppet) are on the hunt to unite the old gang. Of course the hilarity ensues.

Memorable moments for me were Chris Cooper rapping about destroying The Muppet Theatre and The Chickens clucking out Cee Lo Green's "Forget You".

All around, this movie delivered and I was not disappointed. It will delight kids that have never seen the Muppets before and please old fans.

Jack and Jill (I) (2011)

Terrible, terrible, terrible
11 November 2011
I saw a pre-screening of this film the night before it opened to wide release. I knew going in that it was not going to be an excellent film. But, I thought, there would be a few laughs and some funny moments in it. I was terribly mistaken.

Adam Sandler was terrible as 'Jill'. We were supposed to believe that the character was actually a woman. All I saw was Adam Sandler in a dress with a stupid voice.

The character of Jack is unlikeable and mean, almost to the point where you wonder how he has any family or friends.

Katie Holmes, which I usually enjoy watching in films, was a non entity in it. Her character was one dimensional and boring. She might as well have not been there at all.

Al Pacino, why did you do this movie? He is an amazing actor with amazing credits to his name. But this? Really?

The jokes were pointless and not funny. I'm really tired of 'fart' jokes. Been there, done that. Not funny.

The only funny part of the film was Jack's son, he had a couple of funny lines. Basically the only time I laughed was when he was on screen doing something.

If I had paid for this movie, I would have walked out to get my money back. As it was, I sat finished my popcorn, pop and thought, "Free tickets were too expensive to be here." Do yourselves a favour, skip this movie and do ANYTHING else.
