Advance to Contact (2013)
The true story of a British soldier's battle with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
An excellent hard hitting British drama highlighting the volatile vulnerability of a soldier's struggle with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder as he returns to civilian life.
Based on true events the film raises awareness of PTSD while showing how family, friends and those around the sufferer are also affected.
Skillfuly written and directed by and featuring Scott Ryan Vickers 'Advance to Contact' is passionately made with fine performances from all concerned.
Keeping you gripped from the moment it opens and although dark in places this is a positive film and one that shouldn't be missed.
Minds of Glass (2011)
Independent psychological mystery
This psychological thriller had me gripped from beginning to end.
The film is finely shot and well written by director Ryan Hendrick.
Chris Somerville as Dylan and Natalie Clark as Sophie give strong performances throughout and there is also a wonderful appearance from Bill Murdoch as Dylan's friend Wells.
The bonus of a good score added to the wonderful locations gives the film a tranquil yet sinister edge.
Although not as fast paced as you might expect the film's sometimes gentle flow adds greatly to its menacing appeal.
If you like good mystery thrillers and high-quality independent films, I thoroughly recommend you try 'Minds of Glass'.
