Star Trek: Discovery: Su'Kal (2020)
The Discovery's story is its own.
Each episode is unique and highlights the skills of different people. Ignore all the whining that it isn't the same show as the original written over 50 years ago where a prototypical macho male was in charge. I totally have enjoyed the diversity of viewpoints in this season. It is well written, acted and structured. Each season is a fresh new story. In fact this episode is one of the most unique so far. An old nemesis and new potential to annihilate the Federation. Discovery joyously forges it's own path while honoring the tone and goals of the original and subsequent shows. Ignore the negativity and enjoy the show. It's a real joy.
FBI: Hero's Journey (2022)
Improbable story.
It was poorly conceived, the psychology doesn't fit the crime(s). That is the initial part of the episode that made you think they'd lost the plot.
Spoilers ahead:
The bomb is just left in plain sight after all that work to get the bomb and plant it. Then the agents don't take the bomb expert's trained opinion and they stay with the bomb discussing what to do, start to leave by climbing up the stairs, then stupidly decide to go back down. At this point they've wasted enough time that it's totally ludicrous that they could pull a vehicle up, get the bomb loaded and then drive it far enough to save everyone. All I thought throughout this episode was that the writers either ran out of material or were pushed to write an episode that's premise made no sense so they decided to make the whole thing so ridiculous it's almost funny.
Very disappointed. This season has nowhere to go but up.
American Horror Story: Camp Redwood (2019)
Worst season of the franchise
I have watched every season of AHS. Some seasons were better than others, but they all had a plot, character development and a mystery. I have watched 3 episodes of AHS 1984 and it is like the longest most drawn out slasher flick. Horror movies usually last 90 minutes because the actual plot is very limited. This is slow, boring and painfully drawn out. The actors are great, the material is NOT. I can't wait for next season, it can only be better!
My Christmas Prince (2017)
Typical lifetime TV movie
Interesting casting. The lead, Callum Alexander, is a Tom Daley clone and kind of sweet. Parker Stevenson and Pamela Sue Martin back together is fun. Parker can act, Pamela Sue never was a great actress. Sadly the weak link is the the lead, Alexis Knapp. She is still green and not a good actress. The actress playing the queen, strongly resembles Celeste Holm. We've seen this plot a hundred times. But if you're looking for mindless cuteness this is it.
