Land of Bad (2024)

50 shades of white testosterone cringe of a film
30 April 2024
The film seems to have good intentions, yet it falls into familiar clichés and potentially problematic racial stereotypes, reminiscent of earlier decades.

It's 2024 and international sovereignty still doesn't exist to Uncle Sam.

Anyways, the conclusion feels disjointed, with characters left underdeveloped. While the acting is good, it prompts the question of whether the actors read the script before accepting their roles.

In summary, the film seems to be soaked in 50 shades of testosterone, giving it a macho, white righteousness vibe that's bordering on cringe-worthy. The characters are blunt brain washed beings with no depth.

Disappointment

They spent too much on the cast and very little in the dialogue and research. Feels like a bad B movie. I usually like Halle Berry but this movie might be worse than Catwoman - sorry.

Disappointing

The story is not that bad, but acting and directing sure it is. Angelina did not deliver on this one. She lacks authenticity and surely did zero effort to look like a firefighter. She just looks beautiful throughout the movie but I was looking for something more three dimensional and substantive. Sad.

This could have been a great movie

The story was interesting although movies about killing family and revenge are kind of dated.

Writing, acting and directing was bad. I felt like I was watching a B movie. The characters were so plain, especially Karen, so shallow. How the conversations between Karen and Kelly were shot just threw me off.

So much effort to do those amazing scenes but the human factor wasn't captured properly.

Sorry to agree with bad acting comments

I just watched this movie again. It's sad but true! Keira was not the best choice for this movie at all. She awkwardly passes through the movie. A bit of a cringe feeling watching it, to be honest.

Not so good...

I always respect Cuba Jr, even in this lousy movie he gave everything that he could. The story is good, but honestly? The movie is bad. The makeup, the action scenes, the camera movement, but.. but the worse part is the interpretation of some actors, and the winner in this context is Cole Hauser. He is not in the movie sometimes, really not convincing, you can feel and see insecurity, some looks he gives, body movement. I have to say some lines are corny, and some events too much cliché. In the end, there are better Cuba Gooding Jr movies to watch. I remember other movie somehow like this, Collateral with Tom Cruise and Jamie Foxx.
