Frantz (2016)
Broken Lullaby
Broken Lullaby, 1932. Frantz is a remake...sadly without given credit due. Writers please mention from where you get your source? I liked both movies and both movies were well done.
OOPS: Apologies to François Ozon ... (scenario)
Philippe Piazzo ... (in collaboration with)
Ernst Lubitsch ... (movie "Broken Lullaby")
Michael Z.
Maximum Velocity (2003)
Holliwood spends hundreds of millions...
Hollywood spends hundreds of millions on crap movies like the Avengers and others...I had more fun watching this movie than the big budget ones...keep my attention with laughs thrown in...try watching and enjoying without thinking what can and cannot be done in reality.
I grew up watching black and white serials at the movies on Saturday afternoons...this movie is pure escapism, enjoy.
Exploding Sun (2013)
I saw this movie 3 times...
I saw this movie 3 times looking for flaws...couldn't find any...it kept me glued to the screen...I thought this movie worked well for me.
For a low budget movie; great...I am sure this movie will be made again, big budget Hollywood...and longer flick
Flood (2007)
Edge of my seat excitement
Edge of my seat excitement; much better than others thought.
Good movie; and good fun...these movies are not to be taken as fact...it's a could be.
I am not a pick-apart critic...just what's good...this movie was, for me, fun and escapist stuff with my bowl of popcorn; of course I am rooting for Nature...as a retired merchant marine I see this as payback for polluting the ocean.
Go water and drown the rats; the politicians and such.
Mind's Eye (2016)
I get it
Its a low budget indie movie, I would say; brilliant.
it got me thinking, and that's hard to do...thanks to real movies like this I have hope for the future of movies.
The Lost Missile (1958)
Great little movie...60 years ago.
Great little movie...60 years ago.
The duck and cover era. A low budge movie that deserves praise in movie making.
Mistakes many, but worthy.
2010: Moby Dick (2010)
I love the story...enjoyed it.
I love the story...enjoyed it. I have seen the other versions of MD...this was fun, well played.
Makes we want to read the book again.
Its another version of the Passion Play...we go into the valley of death, knowing the outcome, yet still ride onward and onward.
Was this ordained before the Universe began?
This was pure fun. any fan of the story, I am sure, will enjoy this story version.
Prityazhenie (2017)
good sci fi .
Good sci fi...love story. More like a Shakespearean story.
I enjoyed it...took awhile to get into it.
not much to say...keep up the good work Russian.
and I enjoy the dubbin too.
Alien Implant (2017)
Can one young woman carry a hour and 15 minute movie, yes.
Can one young woman carry a hour and 15 minute movie, yes. I thought the budget was way to much for this movie.
I never lost interest, although I kept looking for a hammer to drop...I wasn't disappointed.
I have a lot to say thou I don't want to spoil it for serious movie buffs...special effects are not always needed to enhance the quality of movies.
A long time ago I learned to enjoy the simplicity of indie movies; I loved this little movie and recommend to the lovers of cinema seekers seeking something not main stream Hollywood.
It's hard for me to do long reviews since I have arthritis in my hands.
I gave it a high rating, since I believe Lisa Mueller has a great future as an Actress...hopefully she'll make her stardom on her terms, which is hard for any one to achieve.
Watch it, and enjoy.
The Girl with All the Gifts (2016)
This movie will make Z Wars look lame.
This might be a spoiler, not sure...This movie cost 4 million Euros; 6- 7 million us dollars. The US spends about two hundred million buck on mostly junk movies. First let me say; Glenn Close was a surprise, and she should be considered if this becomes a series, and it should? Seldom does it happen, this movie grabbed me right from the beginning, and would not let me go; it's still on my mind...this is why I am writing this. The Walking Dead got boring after the first three years or so...I still watch it waiting for everybody to die off, still waiting. Now back to this movie, The Girl... However, you have to think, and I am sure you'll have to watch it again as I will. Sennia Nanua, is a newcomer and (I think) will do great work in the future. Her caricature, Malanie was delightful and captured my heart. And I would have given the movie a 9-10, thou I believe only classics like Casablanca or Lost Horizons are entitled to the top row of movies. I could go on and on, however if you're not threatened by Zombie movies you will enjoy this special movie. Everyone was great that played in the movie deserves recognition for their part. See this movie somewhere, as I am sure it will go to video or Netflix's or some lame outlet...Enjoy.
No Men Beyond This Point (2015)
Great little movie.
This story has been done before by different writers, but this version is so sweet...I loved it. It portrays women becoming the dominant force in the world, and the slow extent ion of men. I kind of like it, and I thought the main male might become a male lesbian...watch and see. This will open the door for other combinations of inter-sex relationship.
Personally I love gender-bender movies...it adds to, what I believe should be a gender-bender world. I like that the Canadians seem to take a simple concept, and turn it into a great low-budge movie. And with no violence is needed to get the point across to rest of us movie goers. All I can say is watch and enjoy.
The Morning After (2015)
The premise is great, however...
Yes I liked it...maybe a little bit of Steiner, maybe some Jung. I wouldn't expect many would understand the concept of a dead man walking himself into the future...something like the spear-holder at Gethsemane. I know you won't understand my review, but that's OK. Death, dream, its all the same...walking my way home. The land of the dead, one forgets what one journey is all about. See it twice. You might understand? The acting isn't great, but doesn't have to be... One needs to understand Greek myth. Death and life overlap eternally. Really, not much one can say, watch it. Hello, hello, what more can I say? Tell me? What?
Space Trucker Bruce (2014)
OK, this is a great little movie; it was made for 10K, so I took that into consideration. I got laughs and loved that space problems were solved with easy solutions...
I took that into consideration. I got laughs and loved that space problems were solved with easy salutations...so get a 6 pack and a large pizza and enjoy. Its just silly fun...tells us a good movie can still be made at home and for little money. Thanks Antone Dorion...nice job and fun movie...I hope to see more adventures of Space Trucker Bruce in the future? Michael Z also the bit with the sour cream containers was wonderful. There is not much more I can say; I loved it. I hope to see more movies like this. And thanks to you tube for posting it. You know what ball busting is: I don't have a lot to say, and I wonder what you guys want?
The High and the Mighty (1954)
This is the mold they made the other airplane movies from.
This movie had shades of Stagecoach, and JW didn't do much acting, no one really did, but who cares...again its the mold for most airline, airplane movies. Its a trip back to the 50s-60s. Its fun to watch.
Airplane CEOs should be made to watch this movie; imagine all the seats are first class...booze is poured from a quart bottle, the stewardess asks, asks, you if your ready to eat...and how you want your stake cooked...men are dressed in suits and women in dresses...everybody used suit cases for luggage...and people were polite; the rich sat with the working class. I remember flying in the late 50s...no jets, prop planes, but a lovely flight...the companies made us feel like we were guests, and we were treated like important guests; not so today...we are treated like prisoners/scum by the airlines and airports. I miss flying, but its not worth it today...I'll drive.
Bailout: The Age of Greed (2013)
I enjoyed this movie so much I am adding my 2 cents
OK, as far a movies go its worth a 7-8, but the last half hour got me so excited I could do no less than excellent...I loved the ending; its about time the good-bad guy wins, and hopefully goes on to Washington DC...boy is he needed there, big time. I know I am a 70 year old, retired guy; 6 years in the marines, and worked for the shipping industry another 20, with an attitude, since the powers that be lied and used me for all this time, so I am a little P O. So sit back and enjoy the way this movie plays out. My thanks to the writers and director, and editors, great job for telling it like it is, and how it could be...I am sure my god will forgive me for having such dark thoughts and desires. Most of us feel this way, and to the bad guys, stop killing the poor people. Enjoy.
Jim (2010)
A thinking person's movie
I just saw this movie a few minutes ago, thought how unfair it is when someone/s spend a little amount of money and produce a thoughtful movie? This movie kept me glued to the TV, watched it on Netflix, and I ate every scene like it was food from an international buffet? If you have a brain, believe that art becomes reality, you should watch this? Its not perfect, but it is worthy of the story it offers...enjoy it as it is enjoyable? Do you like to think, then think, and maybe you'll understand? Seems I have to say more to get this posted? I liked the music. Sometimes the characters become confusing, but it works out in the end? Remember this is not a big-budget Hollywood move, its and cheap art-house movie...it made no money, and it lost money at the box office? Just watch it on whatever, and enjoy?
