Rock & Rule (1983)
It may not be Heavy Metal- This one stands out on it's own
Heavy Metal is one of my ALL time favorite movies. I was cruising the message boards on Heavy Metal and found a post that said "Rock and Rule vs Heavy Metal" I felt that I totally had to check this out. After watching it, i HAVE to say that this is an AMAZING movie.
Though it does lack some, like for instance, the length of the movie was one of the things that made me kind of feeling disappointed, and the ending which I will not say. This is truly though a movie of Art.
The animation is truly far greater than Heavy Metal, and this totally suites the status that Heavy Metal sure does. Anyways, enough comparing. MOK has to be one of the most frightening characters visually and audibly speaking.
As well as the computer animation, completely art. You can find so much entity in this movie, be it evil and good. Particularly evil, because it in a way left me a little scared in parts. That is well done, especially if a PG rated cartoon can leave you a little frightened.
HIGHLY recommended.
Ginger Snaps Back: The Beginning (2004)
Atmospheric, Romantic, Dark, Under-rated,
After watching the first Ginger Snaps movie when I was baked out of my tree, really made me LOVE the film, because the tongue and cheek aspect of it totally made it so worth while. In my eyes, it's an instant classic of it's own. By far the best damn Tongue-in-cheek horror movie I have EVER seen. The second film? definitely not as good, but I loved how it focused on Bridgette. Though in my eyes, I really don't see why it should have had a sequel to it, and most likely should have just been left alone. Though the sequel was good in it's own intentions- it's feeling/mood, and total derangement of it made it seem so interesting.
As for the prequel? well, it's really no different; not MEANT to be made if you look at it in the view of the first, but it's cool that they did. Now, if I were to pick a favorite of them, I wouldn't know what to chose. Most likely the first movie because it's the movie that started the birth of the sequel, and this movie, too. However, the first IS without a doubt THE BEST, but just because it's the best, does not mean I favor it. Personally, I think I might just go with THIS movie, because this is the only Ginger Snaps movie that I have any intention on reviewing. Exactly how often do I review movies? Not very often. Could it be that I don't have the time? no, I have all the time in the world, it's just that I never choose to do such a thing. As for this, since I was SO intrigued by it, I figure I might as well.
Now all these movies have different't feels to them; the first being a real tongue-in-cheek horror movie with cheap gore aimed at horror fans and teens. The second movie? much more dark, extremely serious aimed at teens, and most probable, fans of the first movie. The third taking a much more Gothic, atmospheric, romantic direction. That's why it's hard to pick, but I LOVE Gothic, atmospheric, and romance anyways, which is probably why I loved this one so much. Also because I had a much more lower expectation since what I heard, nor did I realize it at the time.
Personally, something that I absolutely came to love was how in my perspective, the star of the movie was NOT Ginger, but Bridgette. The camera just seemed so drawn to her. Possibly could be because she's such a beautiful person, and a favorite actress of my own, thanks to IT. Don't get me wrong though, Katharine is ALSO a very beautiful actress, but she seems more like eye candy. There's something about Emily that I find totally beautiful, could be the life, and the spirit she brings to the film.
There also was a little something about the movie I absolutely loved, and that was the romance in it. Lots may not notice it, and I believe that the romance in the film was NOT to be directly shown, but to be more pointed out by the viewers. Yes I know that Bridgette and Ginger are sisters in the movie, now not to sound like a pig, because it's not about that, but in it's own way, they seemed to have a love for each other, and NOT just in a sister way. It was more like romance, and because of that, the way it's portrayed, was BEAUTIFULLY done if you appreciate it's much more subtle objective (if that was the intention.) There is something I would love to know why I loved this movie so much and to this day I cannot figure it out. All I am going to say, is that I am more than glad that this movie got negative feedback from viewers, and more than proud to say that I love this movie. Better than the first? NO WAY! totally different territories, totally different meanings, and just different movies in general. I loved that all of them were different from each other. Ginger Snaps Back has Dark atmosphere, Beauty, Romance, and in it's own spirit, love. Perhaps it's message is Love Is Thicker Than Blood.
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning (2006)
Frickin SICK! Unrellenting, Realistic, Ruthless, And Pure Demonic Brilliance!
I am going to keep this one real brief, because there's only so much to say and I personally wanna keep it a little bit greater than a nutshell. Now, where to start. Ummm, just to keep in mind about this movie which really made me disappointed in some way is that there is NO prologue at the beginning, which sucks because I think with the Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise, 5 out of 6 of the movies made from here all have prologues and in my eyes was something that was a trademark. But, the way the movie was made makes it seem like its not a big deal, because this movie is really in my eyes probably the most well done in SOME ways. Though I do gotta say that even though it was all made brilliantly, a lot happened way TOO fast and everything happened in a matter of ONE night, seemed like that it was sort of a rushed screenplay. Though i must say, I am pleased even if it wasn't what I thought it was going to be. This movie is definitely NOT shy in delivering all the gore, because this is one of the sickest movies I have ever seen. Even though I managed to find a sense of humor behind it all, and I do NOT know why. Really there is nothing funny about anything in this movie. R Lee Ermy is really the hatred element in driving the family to it's insanity, and he makes it seem so natural that you kinda can't blame them. For the first time, I was like "do not die!" when it came to the victims. Leatherface was totally brilliant, and was full of rage. For some reason, he also reminded me of a Gunnar-Hansen meets R.A. Mihaloff type leatherface, because in my opinion, he was totally different from the remake. Personally, he is better in this movie. Now, I wasn't sure of giving it a 7 or an 8 out of ten, so usually I just take in between, a 7.5 which rounded off is 8, so I'm giving this an 8.
Nightstalker (2002)
Very Underrated as long as you expect it to suck
This is a movie that I would say was VERY Well done. I am a Christian adult who is very interested in films that deal with Satanism, Occult, as well, as serial killers. Nightstalker deals with all three of those. As usual, the skepticism of people is what makes this movie feel so good, because as long as you expect it to be something that is terrible, you might like it. I know I did.
Nightstalker was a film that was VERY messed up. Even more so than Fight Club, Donnie Darko and so forth. The beginning of the movie starts out with as someone put "Crack Montages over Speed Metal", Okay, ya, they were crack montages, but it wasn't over speed metal, it was over Grindcore/Brutal Death Metal. With the montages, this movie makes you feel kind of scared/creeped out.
In a way, you could say that this is a lot like Summer Of Sam, because it revolves around a person(s) while the media talks about the killings going around. I do recommend this movie to all those who are interested in these kind of movies, BUT I WARN YOU, DO NOT EXPECT A LOT OUT OF IT AND YOU'LL LIKE IT!!!!
Clownhouse (1989)
WOW! This is a pretty damn cool movie!
Wow!, this movie was awesome. Personally I thought it would be cool, but at the same time, not THAT cool. What I think is interesting is the fact that I was also expecting more out of it, yet, I was also not disappointed really, because it's not a mainstream movie at all. It's totally underground. In a way, it is kinda creepy. It left me a little paranoid after I watched it, which is cool, especially the way the clowns were in this movie- I was looking in every corner of the house, Ha. Yes, the movie is extremely cheesy- poorly acted, poorly directed, lame effects, lame dialog, lame script, and is just a REAL joke, but weirdly enough, this movie is still amazingly cool, and makes you wonder about exactly how clowns really are. In The Devil's Rejects, Captain Spaulding asks for a reason to hate clowns. Well folks, this movie is the very reason to hate clowns. Captain Spaulding, you may have just got your answer.
The Devil's Rejects (2005)
VERY well-done! Just don't compare it the first. TWO different movies!
The devil's rejects is an amazing film. At the same time, so was House of 1000 Corpses. Most people compare HO1000C to TDR. If you ask me, I'd tell you to knock it off. DON'T COMPARE IT TO THE FIRST MOVIE! THEY ARE TWO TOTALLY DIFFERENT MOVIES IN Each other! This movie was A LOT more realistic, and gory/violent. Yet at the same time, it's not quite a horror film as opposed to the first film. Rob Zombie's direction in this movie was more well-done and laid back. As well, it also had more of a mainstream feel to it.
House of 1000 Corpses was VERY creepy, and just INSANE. House of 1000 Corpses is also a horror movie, and NOT a gory thriller like TDR. HO1000C was still VERY messed up as well, which is probably one of the reasons why people more prefer the second one over the first which is understandable. Still, I don't think it should be compared, because like I said, it's VERY different than the first.
The cast was also more well known in this one as opposed to the first, which is also why I think this one is more mainstream, while the second one was more underground than this one.
Bottom Line - 10/10, Amazing performance, amazing direction, and thrilling throughout. Yet not to be compared to the first as I've said for the 9th time.
The Crow: City of Angels (1996)
A Guilty Pleasure Of My Own...
The Crow was an amazing film and is probably the best of its kind in movie history. It made millions at the box office.
Three years later, the sequel arrives entitled The Crow City Of Angels. WOW, I have never seen so much hatred for a movie, but who can blame those for hating this movie, the original one was such a masterpiece and is regarded as one of the best movies ever, at least for it's genre or as an independent film alone.
The let downs of this film was the lack of character development, the acting, the lack of beauty. Vincent Perez i think was an awesome Crow in terms of the look, but unfortunately, his accent got in the way.
The positives of the film were the sexy Mia Kirshner and infernal Iggy Pop. Those two were probably the better reasons to see it, and also not to mention, Iggy's character is my number one favorite bad-guy if not number two favorite. I loved seeing Sarah again in this movie.
I am speaking in general to what most people think of this movie, and probably the let downs and positives were what i thought as well.
Still, this is an all-time favorite movie of my own, and probably will stay that way.
Many people speak of the PPV and Workprint versions of the movie, due to the fact that they were SO MUCH better than the director's cut that was released in theaters and video/DVD. I still have yet to see it.
The Crow (1994)
The Beauty Of Decay
The Crow was a movie of poetry, melancholy, and darkness. When most people hear the name Brandon Lee, they think "The Crow" after all, it was his last performance in cinematic history. An All time favorite.
To those who have seen it often experience the Sadness that was carried with the film, and what is kind of ironic about this movie dealing with life and death is the fact that Brandon Lee was killed during this movie.
I consider this movie to be an independent film, yet it still hit theaters and was rewarded as a beautiful masterpiece. The crow is not a movie to see for entertainment (though it is HIGHLY entertaining and is also considered a classic), this is a movie to experience.
Reading what many others have said about The Crow, it has touched them in so many ways, as well as myself.
I advise everyone to go see this movie who hasn't.
The Crow: Salvation (2000)
To most people including, this is a step up from City Of Angels.
The Crow Salvation is a film that was personally in my opinion and I am sure, many others opinions, a step up from The Crow: City Of Angels. It's true, in most respects, it is.
Unfortunately, this movie doesn't quite focus on the poetry and melancholic views that the first one showed and maybe the second one showed as well. Though it is somewhat an original story in terms of the twists, and how Alex Corvis is executed for murder and is set out to find the killer(s). Almost like Poetic Justice.
This movie more focuses on the action of the movie instead of the sadness involved, but in most respects as said earlier, it is a step up. You might consider this to be a movie that is more appealed to a more teen audience.
Eric Mabius makes a really good Crow, though he is sort of a more "anti-hero" filled with rage in this movie instead of a good guy. Unfortunately, his look as the crow isn't exactly cool, instead, he looks kind of gross. This movie also isn't as dark as the first two were.
Kirsten Dunst's performance was terrible. I think she makes a better child actress than an adult/teen actress.
Jodi Lynn O'Keefe's performance was awesome, and she is so beautiful. In a way she has a little bit of resemblance to Shelly in the first Crow.
Still, I'll recommend this one anyway even if it doesn't make up to the first crow, but it does make up to the second one.
The Crow: Wicked Prayer (2005)
The most original Crow, Most Different Crow, And The Most Less Serious Crow
The Crow Wicked Prayer is a very different movie than the other three. Personally, since I heard that this movie was a prequel, I thought it was gonna be more closer to the first two and that Salvation would be a totally different Crow movie. I was wrong; The Crow Salvation is probably even closer to the original two movies than The Crow Wicked Prayer.
I watched it once, and I am going to finally buy it. Surprisingly enough, this movie had quite a bit of originality with the whole fact it deals more with the after life and deals with not just life and death, but Heaven And Hell. Highly unfortunate, David Boreanaz and Tara Reid were quite disappointing. I don't really like David Boreanaz that much, and I STRONGLY hated his performance in it. Edward Furlong made an AWESOME Crow in my opinion, even though he did need to lose a little bit of weight as Jimmy, but the blackness made him look more built. Emmanuel Chriqui was absolutely beautiful in this movie and her performance was pretty decent. As for the secondary characters; eh, who cares about them. Not a whole lot to say about Danny Trejo; he makes a better native than he does a Spanish dude in all his other movies.
The only real let downs are the acting and some of the cast. More of an Amateur cast than anything.
I REALLY like this movie but I am not going to recommend this movie to people because its more of a movie you watch on your own risk.
Slash (2002)
It deserves higher than a 4.0, why not a 4.8 to a 5.0??
Just saw this movie, and I personally have to say that I was pleased. I am not sure if this is exactly a B-film, or if its just a plain old Direct-to-video release.
I thought it was just a B-film judging by the previews. Now watching it sort of says something different. To be as honest as I can be, I was very impressed. It has good character development, good twists, and some-what at the bear least descent dialogue.
The main character of the movie, Mac, gives off a strong performance, as does Steve Railsback. Mac sort of has a bit of resemblance to actor Michael Bein. I really enjoyed this movie, then again, I think it could have been because of my low expectations.
This is a Slasher movie, and as most horror movies not to mention now-a-days, the slasher genre of Horror has been disappointing us with all its B-films and Direct-to-video releases. You might sorta say even for a Direct to video or a B-film; which ever this may be, is a good comback to the Slasher Genre. The Slasher genre is one of my favorite genres of horror just as Thrash is my favorite genre of Metal.
Though, I personally do suggest that those who watch it should be aware.
Curse of the Forty-Niner (2002)
Come on, Its a B-Horror Film, At Least Appreciate It
I saw this movie a long time ago, around the time it first came out. Then almost a year after that, I bought it, just for the sake of a song they had on the menu.
I read a lot of people's reviews, and the movie was bashed. One of the reasons why I feel that it was bashed was because it's a B-horror film. I Despise B-movies, but, I have to admit, for a B-movie, this one was actually not TOO bad.
Sure, It was HORRIBLY acted, directed, scripted, and overall, just cheesy, but do realize, those elements can be total assets to a movie like this. That is why I enjoyed it. The death scenes were really cool yet cheesy. Also not to mention, The "fourty-niner" killer was not too bad. Unfortanetly, he wasn't original; He looked almost tied with The Creeper From Jeepers Creepers, and Rob Zombie.
The camera angles ticked me off, but it is a B-flick, and it is expected. I enjoyed what was made of it, even though it was POORLY made, even for a B-flick, because there are good B-flicks.
I'll still appreciate what it is. You cant just watch it expecting it to be amazing. It's one of those movies that you have to appreciate with what was made of it.
Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)
The Best Of The Prequels, But Still, Dialogue and SOME Acting Was Crap
Something told me inside that I was really going to love this movie and that it would be the best of the prequels, and it wasn't the reviews or the critics that said so, just from what I saw on the trailers and TV spots made it look absolutely amazing.
When I watched this movie, I was RIGHT into it from the start. I tried to have low expectations, but it is hard to disappointed with a Star Wars movie, with the exception of The Phantom Menace. Unfortanetly there were disappointments. Here's a list: - Dialogue like, "Anakin you're breaking my heart." "Soon I will have an apprentice more powerful and younger too." "We will take the girl because my wife and I always wanted to adopt a girl." and you CANNOT forget this part "You will be known as Darth.... Vader", that had me Major mad. -Acting; Palpatine/Sidious had some pretty bad acting when he revealed his evil self to the Jedi. What really got me mad was when he would laugh or say the most stupidest line like "You will be called Darth... Vader." that just made it seem like he was saying "I will call you um let me think here, how about Darth, nope, not that one, um, nope that one was taken, oh I got it, no thats not it either, Here it is, Darth Vader!" -Lack Of Romance/Padme; I basically said it, that there wasn't as much Padme and Romance between Anakin and Padme. Too bad, I was REALLY hoping to see all that.
Other than that, this movie was awesome. I loved the relationship between Obi-won and Anakin. I will give it a 10 out of 10, even though the MAJOR disappointments should give it less, this is still I know an ALL-time favorite for me, so I will give it a 10.
Batman Begins (2005)
I absolutely love this movie, but still, i prefer the original with Michael Keaton
I saw Batman Begins yesterday where I live, and I have to say this is I was pleased. you might say that I was expecting this to be amazing because don't get me wrong, it was made by one of the best directors in Hollywood, Chris Nolan. And now that I got to see it, I have to say that it was amazing, BUT I am not going to say that there were NO disappointments, which is one of the reasons why I loved the original more.
I am going to compare Batman Begins to Tim Burton's Batman. Why I loved the Original Batman was all because of Michael Keaton, and plus, it's also an All-time favorite movie for me. The real disappointments were some of the things with Christain Bale as Batman, which were a few things; A)The mask was crap, and it sorta made him look like the George Cloony version of Batman, B)I didn't like how he would disguise his voice when he was Batman, and finally C)He sorta had a little bit of a lisp in parts, or a slur, whatever you want to call it. Other than that, he was the best Batman/Bruce Wayne yet. Michael Keaton as Batman however was my favorite because he just suited the role the best with his presence and acting. Also, because he didn't have to disguise his voice, and he didn't look like George Cloony.
With the new Batman, we got to see him do things that he never really did get to do in the original, like Fly, release the bats, and everything else. Which was a huge factor to making this movie one of the best movies I've seen this WHOLE year. Just minor disappointments of how Batman talked and looked, thats it. I am still going to give it a 10, a BIG 10, because my disappointments were just minor. Go see it now
Spawn (1997)
You Say Tomato, I Say Tomoto
Spawn is a film that had a HUGE potential to be a good movie, yet, to many it really wasn't that great. I can see why too; the not so great acting, the short length of the film, the-not-true-translation of the comic book. Yet, this movie TOTALLY has AWESOME special effects, and that deserves credit. Me, I LOVE this movie, because, to me, its always fun to watch, and because its HILARIOUS. Like I said, its not a true translation to the comic and its got its let downs, but if you just ignore all that, its really not bad. I think this movie could have been better to fans and others if it was longer, had a greater story, and stayed true to the characters and comic.
Hellraiser: Inferno (2000)
You thought it sucked A$$, I thought it KICK A$$
Hellraiser Inferno was a film that was released on video shelves. I take it that means that since the bad reputation regarding the hellraiser franchise has received, made you believe that this film was going to suck ass.
To my personal belief of this film, I think that Scott Derickson did a remarkable job on it. I do believe that this was the first hellraiser film that was released on video store shelves. I can understand why they did it, and I believe its because of how little popularity hellraiser has been getting even though it has its fans. Thanks to the stupid ass sequels being made, that really was what gave hellraiser the BIG UGLY AXE! but since this film came out, I personally thought that it was going to get a great rep.
Hellraiser rep still hasn't changed, but, this is definitely the best hellraiser film I have seen since the sequel known as HELLBOUND. This movie has some great acting, great actors, direction, awesome script, it makes u think, and some good gore. What I didn't like about this film was SOME of the camera work, AND MAJORLY, the lack of pinhead used in the movie. He is what makes these movies possible, and in this movie, he really isn't in it that much. But in a way, thats also a good thing, because, Pinhead in this movie, is not really the evil one, but, is actually the jury, and the judge/guide. The film makers of this movie did a great job of the way pinhead should be.
Some people liked this movie, some people didn't mind it, and some people hated it. Me, I loved it, I give this a 10 out of 10
American History X (1998)
American History X: A Clockwork Orange meets Romper Stompers
American History X: A Clockwork Orange meets Romper Stompers.
This movie is unbelievable. I say its Clockwork Orange meets Romper stompers due to what happens and what the movie is about. The clockwork Orange part of it is basically where a kid in a gang goes to jail for a while and comes back somebody else; someone who is against all the stuff that he used to be, even though he never did go under any certain treatment like Alex did in Clockwork Orange. Now, the Romper Stompers part of this movie is basically the skinhead and racist part of this movie.
Still, since Clockwork Orange and Romper Stompers were very great movies, so is American history X. a 10 of 10. highly recommended
Eddie and the Cruisers II: Eddie Lives! (1989)
Eddie Lives!!
Eddie and The Cruiers came out in 1983, and seemed to be pretty successful. six years later, came the sequel, and from what the ratings on IMDb tell me that it was not that great. Personally, I find it to be better than the first, well, actually, I shouldn't say that, cause both the films are different.
The original film was more based on a story telling on what happened before Eddie Wilson had supposedly died. Eddie And The Cruisers 2: Eddie Lives is more about an emotional version of Eddie living as a secret to the world for the past twenty years.
Eddie or I should say Joe West witnesses all the publicity of the original Eddie and The Cruisers and feels emotional over everything. "Its the point, nobody's forgotten, I've seen on every damn, damn radio/television. Its making me crazy, they let me better dead than alive." Joe West said.
As he lives his life a secret, he jams with a few people and one guy in particular, Hilton Overstreet, who hears him play and realizes its Eddie Wilson. Now, as the film goes on he starts to grow into being himself, known as Eddie Wilson and chooses to reveal himself to the world.
I personally found this one more emotional than the first, because it shows Eddie Wilson's life as a secret and as he starts to come out of his shell, he becomes stronger. There was a scene in the movie where he decides to unshroud himself and reveals himself to Sal. So many gave this movie not too good of a mark, probably because to them the first was better, but I give this a GREAT mark, even though I cant compare them personally.
Hellraiser: Inferno (2000)

Leatherface: Texas Chainsaw Massacre III (1990)
at least a 4 out of 5
Leatherface: Texas Chainsaw Massacre was suppose to be a film with HIGH expectations, due to the major success of the first 2 films.
The original film was one of the scariest movies EVER made. The sequel made 13 years later was majorly successful. Then in came this film.
Most people thought that this movie was the worst Texas Chainsaw Massacre film, and I can see why they say that; non-Tobe-hooper, different leatherface, different family, not connected to the original films, not enough chainsaw. But, just put that all aside for now.
When I saw this movie, I thought it was one of my favorite movies. i LOVED this movie SO much I just had to buy a copy. This movie was the first TCM movie I ever got to see, and I thought it was AWESOME, thanks to Ken Foree, Viggo Mortensen, and my personal favorite... Tom Everette. Oh my goodness, he is SO funny in this movie; the quotes he says, what he does, hes really a comic-relief for this film.
Unfortanetly Leatherface played by R.A. Mihailoff was NO Gunnar Hensen, but he still came on strong in his own way. I love this movie, even though it was a LITTLE success to the chainsaw franchise, it at least didn't destroy the TCM franchise unlike The Kim Henkel made film TCM: The Next Generation did. Hell, it was even put on the top bottom movies of IMDb. WHAT A BURN!
One of the reasons I also love this movie so much is because of some of the soundtrack which has quite a bit of Thrash Metal such as Laaz Rockit - Leatherface, Sacred Reich - One-Nation, and my personal favorite, Wrath - When Worlds Collide. Also, this movie is the reason why I took the vintage direction into metal, and in particular, Thrash Metal. I think that they should have used more Wrath on the soundtrack using songs like Mutants, Ripped Into Pieces, Hell Is Full, and Painless. Basically, they could have even used their entire album "Nothing To Fear" Which is why I wrote a script about TCM with Wrath Nothing To Fear as the soundtrack. Anyway, I would like others to see it, because it is worth watching. Great heavy metal soundtrack, awesome chainsaw, Leatherface's mask looks awesome, nice job of Ken Foree. I give it at least a 4 out of 5, and at most, a 5 out of 5
The Punisher (2004)
Personally I loved it, a 5 out of 5, but I can understand why people might say its not good...
First, I saw the original 'The Punisher' with Dolph Lundgren, and I LOVED it. Many people said it sucked, but I didn't, I thought it was great. One day, I went on the internet and they said they were doing a remake of the punisher with Thomas Jane and John Travolta. I saw a little image of what he looked like, and personally, I HATED his look. It was the pic of him in the Teaser Trailer.
Then I went to see the butterfly effect and I saw the previews. When I saw the preview for it, I was blown away, I thought it was going to be the best marvel movie yet (in my opinion anyway).
Now, I finally got to see the movie myself, and I was blown away. I LOVED this movie A LOT. Jonathan Hensleigh's directing was WELL DONE. But there were some things I really didn't like about the movie. Ill list my cons and pros. CONS: -Not enough 'punishment' -Frank Castle hardly wore the punisher shirt -Not enough of what it was suppose to have including Language, NUDITY:D. -It should have been taken place in New York City, not Tampa Florida.
-Too much of it took place at his apartment instead of the city where he venges, oh, pardon me, Punishes. -Not enough gore for the death scenes
PROS: -Well done acting -Funny one liners -Well done death scenes -Very violent -Amazing stunts -Nice explosions -a TRUE translation of the comic book -good Dialogue -Thomas Jane portrayed the Punisher very well
So those were things that worked and what didn't work. Since this movie is a remake of the 1989 original movie, There are A LOT of things to compare with the two. What the remake had and didn't have: WHAT THE REMAKE Didn't HAVE COMPARED TO THE Original: -The remake was more of a biography on Frank Castle as the 1989 was more of the actual PUNISHER character -The Remake didn't have as much punishment as the original did -The remake didn't have as much as a high body count as the original
WHAT THE REMAKE HAD THAT THE Original Didn't: -It developed from Frank Castle to the Punisher, and went from the beginning of his families death to where he firsts punishes people as the original was just on the Punisher himself -The Remake was more of a true translation of the comic book as the original wasn't -The remake used the skull shirt as the original didn't -Better acting in the remake than the original
BOTTOM LINE: Now, personally, I loved the remake A LOT, but I cant really compare The original with the Remake in terms of what was better, The original was great because of death and punishment. The remake was a true translation of the comic book and focused more on how Frank becomes Mr. P. But over all that I give it a 5 out of 5.
