Kudos to S.S.Rajamouli for bringing to life Indian cinemas first epic
28 April 2017
Why Kattapa.. Why?? A question probably 1.4+ billion people have been quizzed about for the past 2 years.. Well, I assure you, the wait for that answer was worth more than the stunts, songs or a budget of 2.5 billion INR.. It probably was a combination of one of the most emotionally and frustratingly epic scene I've ever witnessed in Indian cinema.. Just the grandeur of that one scene gave for some goosebumps; for some a prolonged tear jerker; and for some absolute silence with awe.

The Conclusion is helmed on 5 shoulders.. #Prabhas, #Sathyaraj, #RanaDaggubati, #AnushkaShetty and #RamyaKrishan, who have all done their parts well. But the strength of the movie is Prabhas who literally lived the character. The support cast have all done their parts brilliantly.

3 hours 15 minutes: Having watched it in Bahrain, I was surrounded with the thrill of sitting in a cinema in India; whistles, claps and howls of joy; every scene was celebrated.

This movie had a good mix of soulful songs, witty one liners, amazing sound effects, bgm, beautiful locations (both original and visually created), grand sets, hard hitting stunts and touching moments placed aptly.

I had read earlier that the VFX is in par with #TheLordOfTheRings and #HarryPotter.. I would say it is top notch for Indian cinema.

Although I did not understand a word, I watched this movie in the language it was conceived - Telugu. Wanted to keep it as original as possible. It was a challenge coordinating the scene with the subs, but if I'm still recommending it, you must understand how good this movie must have been.

Kudos to S.S.Rajamouli for bringing to life Indian cinemas first epic.. A theatrical must watch for all.. #Enjoy

Truly amazed!
22 July 2015
This is probably going to be the hardest thing for me to accept.. especially for a Salman Khan movie.. Watching him put his heart into acting.. Yes I said 'acting'.. I personally thought that Tere Naam was his best movie to date (one movie that I truly regret not watching at the cinema)..

As everyone does for every Salman movie, I left my brain at home expecting to cleanse my head of work stress.. But what I witnessed from frame one was entertainment with a lot of heart..

It's been a very long time since I've seen Salman portrayed as someone from planet earth.. Here's why; he takes punches, he wears normal clothes, he rides normal vehicles, he genuinely jokes, he emotes and, he talks like a normal person. Above all, he genuinely acted! Kabir Khan deserves a standing ovation for this achievement.

Nawazuddin, Kareena and Om Puri did their roles brilliantly.. But the real hero's were Harshaali and her mom (don't know her name and for some strange reason not listed any where).. Harshaali's mom did a brilliant job in every scene she had appeared. Although not a word spoken by Harshaali, her emotions were enough to keep the audience engaged for 2.45 hours.

Overall, this movie is a must watch and I would say brilliant in every aspect (can't believe I said that for a Salman movie).. and above all, my dad kept awake all throughout the movie! :p

Overall rating: 10/10

Entertaining, but the spark was missing..

Warning: Spoilers
Went for this movie yesterday with not much expectation. Was an enjoyable flick and a good time pass. But, there were too many down sides..

I'll talk about the good part first: (1) The beginning of the movie was very catchy to keep you hooked on for the next 133 minutes.. (2) Simon Pegg was very hilarious with his British accent in an American movie. His facial expressions were too funny!.. (3) The scenes inside Kremlin and the explosion were very well made.. (4) Every moment of the Burj Khalifa scene was WOW!

Now for the down side: (1) The sand storm in Dubai was a bit hard to believe and the CGI looked fake.. (2) The chase scene after Burj Khalifa showed a different Dubai with people living inside mud houses. It looked very fake.. (3) The classic mask was almost missing in this movie!! We would've preferred to see Tom Cruise wear it rather than the villain.. (4) Almost all scenes in India seemed as a set or made up.. I would definitely like to see a parking place like that in Mumbai!.. (5) Tom Cruise looked aged in the movie.. (6) They could've chosen someone better looking than Paula Patton! Reminded me of Thandie Newton in MI2.. (7) I wish the main villain was Léa Seydoux.. She definitely would've made a better villain than Michael Nyqvist.. (8) Anil Kapoor was good.. But towards the end, his reactions seemed weird!?

What worked: Stunt scenes, Tom Cruise, Simon Pegg What didn't work: Lengthy dialogues, weak villain Would I watch it again: Probably on bluray for the Burj Khalifa scene.

Overall: A good movie to wind up the year, but there were better. I would still rate MI3 the best of the lot.
