The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power (2022)
Lord of the woke.
I've tried so hard to enjoy the first few episodes. They look beautiful, clearly the budget was huge, some of the acting is ok, dialogue is meh and the plot is interesting as it's LOTR...
The main issue most people have is with the casting and aesthetics.
Honestly, I love that as a society we are more inclusive and trying hard for equality. That's not what this is though. It's so forced and unexplained. How can we go from clearly defined races to something that resembles our own societies?
I know what the replies will be. 'But it's fantasy, you can deal with all that made up stuff, but you can't deal with different races or changes to appearance (dwarves beards, elven hair, clothes ect.)'. But that's simply missing the point. The fantasy makes sense and is already well written and adapted.
They have shoehorned a character of Afro decent into every single race. It makes no sense whatsoever. They are massively underrepresented. To me it is more insulting to put a token character into each race. When I watch House of the dragon, I think fair enough, they are multicultural societies with immigration and melting pot cities. It makes sense. It doesn't put me off seeing the Valyrians, even though genetically it doesn't make sense, it's fantasy, I can see past that, because it still makes sense in the world.
In the LOTR it just doesn't. How have the races intermingled? Are we going to see pasty white ginger people when they show Harad? No we won't, why can't I be represented in every race?
It's forced, you can call me racist or whatever. But you're just lacking a valid reason as to why this needs to happen. Nobody asked for it.
Fear the Walking Dead: Follow Me (2022)
Yawn fest
I think the writers must have some delusion that they are artist writing a masterpiece. But, this season has been total garbage. So many pointless new characters, so many things I don't care about. Constant flashbacks, dreams and delusions. It's so overused and boring now. Just conversation after conversation. Boring monotonous dialogue, none of it is even remotely interesting or leads to anything. Just end this show, it's lost it's way completely.
Fear the Walking Dead: Six Hours (2021)
So frustrating, no logic and nonsensical writing.
Grace is unbearable. Her actions make no sense. People don't react to each-other in a natural way. The action is so forced and the plot makes no sense at all.
What were they thinking with this episode? Did they do any research into nuclear fallout at all?
Fear the Walking Dead: The Wrong Side of Where You Are Now (2018)
Doesn't make sense
I don't understand how the writers and producers could have watched the final cut and thought 'yep that was great'. The actions the characters take make zero sense to the point were it was actually annoying to watch. Its like they struggled to come up with a reason for the baseball field failing. It was so dumb it hurt. First of all what do the 'bad guys' want. What Alycia and nick did made zero sense, the scene where they were just sat in the car not moving is the dumbest piece of footage I've ever seen. Why don't they open fire on enemies that approach? you cant just pretend there's some rules around engagement its stupid.
