Vivarium (2019)
Don't wait for something to happen
I found this quite enjoyable because I feel it's relatable. I'm not like these characters but I could see how it may not be a choice.
Don't get me wrong though. Don't go in expecting joy or even a big bang. These are people and they are working with what they got. You don't have to look for a message but there could be several if you want.
I would watch this again and while I would recommend it, not everyone is going to be satisfied. I don't want to elaborate because knowing less is better with this one.
The Recall (2017)
It's your turn...
I'm going to sum this up with
Alien 1 (Fred) "Soooo, it's your turn to bathe the humans."
Alien 2 (Paul) "My turn AGAIN? I did it last time."
Fred "Well, it's technically it's Charles turn but-"
Paul "Ooooohhhh... actually, what did become of him?"
Fred "Well, you remember that human...uh...thing... sword or whatever it's name was?"
Paul. " Oh Bla-oh ...uh, THAT Charles guy?"
Fred "Yeah."
Paul. "The Charles that got really prickly, spoiled that human too much and was never seen again?"
Fred "Yep. That Charles. I heard he's still hanging out with the human."
Ok, ok. So, it's not a great movie but I was really amused by how ridiculous it was. There are aliens, the Scooby Doo crowd, an ex military astronaut and fancy baths. Would I watch it again? If I was having a friend watch it and I wanted to watch their reaction more than the movie? Hell yeah, I would watch it again!
The Perfection (2018)
Not your typical thriller.
I generally avoid looking into trailers and such when watching something new and I'm glad I did that with this movie. Thrillers aren't generally my cup of tea and was told about this, I probably wouldn't have had watched it. This movie goes one way, takes a sharp turn, continues on until the next sharp turn in plot as well as how it will play out. I really enjoy that because I watch so many horror movies that they get pretty easy to predict...they follow a formula basically. The plot is a bit ridiculous but I still enjoyed it. The acting didn't make me cringe. Now, there were a few SCENES that made me cringe but not because of failed movie tricks. Be wary if you have a delicate stomach.
Astro (2018)
Pass
I would say it's about as good as "The Room" but it's not as funny.
