Leave the World Behind (2023)
Oh deer
The acting in the movie was good no real complaints there. And the story almost made sense, but that's the thing almost. The fact that the deer on mass acted like they were either targeting the humans or trying to communicate with them made no sense. Also the fact that every tesla was white again no sense. If you take those two scenes your left with a decent thriller apocalypse movie. But the problem is that's not the decision the director made. So somehow they have to explain those two things in the context of the movie and I'm sorry strange migration patterns does not explain it. Just like hacked AI does not explain all white teslas. In the end your left with a flawed product that leaves viewers shaking their heads.
No One Will Save You (2023)
Don't waste your time.
If I could take back the time I watched this movie I would. Sure parts of it were interesting but with such a nonsensiscal ending it like Alice fell down the wrong rabbit hole. This review requires more then 100x the dialog in the entire movie. Sure you can make a great movie with little to no dialog look at A Quite Place, this movie is not that. Acting and special effects were high quality. But if your story fails then it's just a waste I would have rather have it end as it was a dream rather then the crap that is here. This is what happens when you start a story and have no idea what to do for ending. Again your life will be much better off if you just skip this.
Hard Target (1993)
One of my favorite John Woo and Van Damme movies
Not much of a fan of John Woo but I think his style fit this film well. And my of my favorite Van Damme movies. Good story and good villain if you are a fan of these types of movies it's worth a watch.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021)
The movie that Ghostbuster fans deserved.
I am so happy to leave the trash of that last nightmare behind. This was not perfect but it connected the movies in great way. I am proud to include this in the Trilogy.
Awake (2021)
I think lack of sleep effect more then characters, mainly the writer, editor, and director
The actors did a ok job with the script that was given to them, which was just a mess based on the final results. I had to rewind the movie like 20 minutes in because it feel like it jumped from Start of movie to like 40 minutes in. But nope there was nothing missed, just every character went from OK to end of world, except the main characters. Other characters are introduced with zero back story, that never get explained. This is a hard pass, take a nap instead.
Shortcut (2020)
Missed opportunities
The kids acting wasn't bad, but differently not realistic for situation. Story tried so hard to be a coming of age story it missed opportunities to do that. Strange flash backs. Unrealistic choices made by characters.
Trauma Center (2019)
Bruce should feel bad about phoning this one in.
So many plot holes. Horrible acting. Bad guys that have zero IQ. And the writing I'm guessing they went with rough draft number one. I still have no idea how movies like these get green light.
The Village (2004)
Upon further reflection
For may years I felt let down and to be honest I think I still do. As a true horror fan I would have loved a different ending. But I think I understand better that this movie is really a great film.
Death Wish (2018)
I love this movie.
I would to see Bruce and the crew do a remake. Eli movies are sometimes too much. But this one in my opinion is one of the most sincere.
Onward (2020)
Weekend at Bernie's II and Lord of the Rings
Don't believe me watch it. The dad I'd 100 percent Bernie. But cue movie better then I thought it would be.
Yesterday (2019)
Love the music and story.
The scene with John is awesome touch. It might be light hearted, but just suspending disbelief for a second you could see how that moment would be life changing.
Gretel & Hansel (2020)
Missed opportunities.
I will echo what most are saying, great potential but never makes it to a cohesive story. If I have to walk away from a movie saying what the hell did I just watch, that's not a good thing. But cinematography and acting were above average. Maybe it was bad editing and the parts that make this a story are on the cutting room floor. Maybe a director's cut will come out and explain all. (Unlikely) Maybe a sequel will come out and fill in the blanks. (Not likely with the reviews I've seen on this) Rating of four is solo based on cinematography and acting.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014)
My least favorite spiderman film.
After first film it had potential, but turn out to be a bad one.
Doctor Sleep (2019)
A decent mixture of film and book.
Never really liked the original movie, but a lot of classic cinematic horror material. So I think this movie takes most of the important plot points of book and mixes in some throw backs to the original film. I walked in thinking I would be disappointed, but came it pleased. In my opinion a good King adaptation.
Fantastic Four (2015)
If Stan says no cameo that's all you need to know.
Movie started with some potential, but just turned into a mess.
Joker (2019)
Brilliant, haunting, and insanely great.
I loved it, 1st comic book movie that made me believe. Wow.
Ghostbusters (2016)
This movie is an insult to the Ghostbusters legacy
This movie almost seems to be making fun of the original Ghostbusters., it should really just be forgotten. Wait what just happened? It was forgotten. Best day ever.
The Predator (2018)
Another wasted opportunity.
This is so disappointing. Poorly written, seems like it's almost an insult to the original movie. Munn and Key among others are a poor fit for the series. I was so ready for a good Predator film, this is not it.
Mother! (2017)
Comedy Not Horror
This movie should be changed to Comedy, for it has no horror. If the soundtrack to the Benny Hill show was added it would make more sense. Sure I get what they were trying to say esoterically, and save it I don't want to spend my money on crappy films like this. One day this will go down as an Ed Wood type of classic.
Transformers: The Last Knight (2017)
An unfortunate mess
Suspension of disbelief is completely broken. Story is confusing at every turn. Great effects, but effects do not make a movie. They need to refocus and maybe make a transformers movie based on story. Sometimes you should take a step back and ask if this works, before spending millions of dollars to make a movie.
It Comes at Night (2017)
Do not waste your money or feed into this kind of crap.
Trust me when I say if you go to see this movie you will start shaking your head when the credits show. There are no answers, there is nothing scary, and again someone has decided to put to film a movie that should have never got a green light to begin with. The acting was good for the most part, but the story is ARRRRGGGHH so frustrating. The title of the movie is beyond deceiving. Before you watch this movie write down 20 endings to a movie and pick one from a hat; guarantee it will be better than what you see in this movie.
Phoenix Forgotten (2017)
If the person responsible for this film could send me my 10 bucks back.
This movie is truly a waste of your time. The acting, plot, and production are all below average. I have no idea why this film has a rating of a 5 of 10 it in no way deserves it. Greenlighting movies like this is a sign that the industry needs reality check. No one likes a predictable, overused, cliché ending. The audience all walked away bewildered when the credits started to role. Please readers take my advice and warning, stay away from this film.
Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight (1995)
I totally agree.
This movie is great. A shocker, Billy Zane had a few good movies. This is one of them. The story, the effects, the back story, character interaction all work. I would agree. Take a few moments of your life to sit back and enjoy a great horror film. I think find something in the film that you will enjoy.
