NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service: In the Dark (2007)
Engaging acting, ridiculous plot
The idea of a blind photographer is just insulting. Smelling someone's diabetes is kind of interesting, but it's childish to suggest that a blind person would be some kind of genius as a photographer. Deaf painter yes. Blind musician yes. Mute novelist yes. Take being a musician for instance. I am a flutist. I have to hear the tempo, I have to hear my intonation. I have to hear my tone production, etc. In an orchestra I have to see the indications of the conductor. I have to see the music. As a soloist sight might not be necessary, but hearing is absolutely necessary. Isn't it insulting to suggest that a photographer could focus on his subject even with his eyes closed? Or that he could just point and shoot? I'm not saying that someone wouldn't buy the picture by the blind photographer. If I were rich I could buy something and brag about how enlightened I was. Still, just incredible. A nice little yarn, though, if you suspend disbelief.
Blue Bloods: Atonement (2020)
This was a Christmas Episode?
Of course Danny goes rogue, because apparently no other NYPD detective can do the job properly (Danny even hints as much)
Once again Erin and Abetemarco set up the bad guy and step in WELL after the bad guy could have killed his intended victim. (who of of course was cooperating as the bait)
Just concentrating in the main story:
Yeah we get that Joe Hill is conflicted about his relationship with his family. We get that he is getting flack with his precinct because they now know of his heritage.. Why leave this cliffhanger unresolved before Christmas? I have looked to see if there was a special episode due before Christmas. Nothing. No info that there will be an episode on Christmas
So, unless there is a surprise. (Have a depressing Christmas everybody!)
Blue Bloods: New Rules (2015)
Plot moves ahead because....reasons
Gripping episode with the usual overblown conflict between Danny and Erin.
My main issue, these things ruin episodes for me, is the device they used to move the plot along. In the end of the episode, Linda gets shot along with a potential witness getting killed. Somehow they have to make it look like nobody screwed up and let a young man with a gun into the hospital room
How could this part of the plot happen?
Option one: No guard is posted at the front of the room to protect a potential witness. (I might not have noticed this, or accepted it even after multiple viewings)
Option two. A guard is posted, but he is easily lured away from his post by the promise of some pizza! (Linda is even the one who tells him of the tasty treat!!) This is the option they went with.
Which is more realistic? Maybe one, the witness really could be in the hospital without the cops recognizing his potential worth and need to protect.. But they choose two and we aren't supposed to shout at the TV? (Maybe not at the first viewing but on the second?) This ruins the episode for me. (The cop guarding the room was probably transferred to the prison where Epstein offed himself! )
Bull: Wrecked (2020)
Look Both Ways-New Title for the Episode
Come on TV people. Did anybody ever teach you that those things in the street with wheels and motors have people driving them. Sometimes those people are ever alert, sometimes they are having an unusual lapse, and sometimes they are jerks. Pedestrians can't walk backward into the street like they are entering the front door of their dorm room.
Sure, nail down the ideas of who was driving, drunk driving bad, leaving the scene, and we all hate diplomatic immunity assertions, look at those things. But please don't try to tell us that Taylor's friend was not being downright (w)reckless herself.
NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service: On Fire (2020)
Serviceable But Frustrating
Always like to sit and watch an NCIS episode. Just a little frustrated how real-life things are swept under the rug. We see how fast the Ferrari is going at the beginning of the episode yet according to Bishop, Torres had time to throw Bishop out of the way then attempt to run at and jump over the speeding car a la Kobe (RIP) How was Torres not dead? Why didn't they just get out of the road? Sounds more like Get Smart rather than NCIS "Missed it by THAT MUCH!" That' s why Bishop had to describe it rather than we get to see it.
Also I gotta imagine that real protocols would have controlled Bishop better after she threatened to kill the bad guy.
But it was something to watch while eating dinner.
Blue Bloods: Shadow of a Doubt (2017)
Garrett's Job
In the episode it looks like Frank Reagan doesn't understand how Garrett does his job and leaves him high and dry having to pay it all back. Seems like an unrealistic plot element to me
