Why, why Hollywood?
11 April 2020
They take what has great promise and instantly screw it up with their gender identity crisis bs. Did the Casting Department not find a male to play the part of Lyndon? Clearly Cailee Spaeny is a biological female. What's the purpose of having her play a guy? What's with this garbage? News flash everyone, Lyndon is not a guy, Lyndon is a girl being played by a girl.

Great Netflix Project
28 March 2020
Such a waste. So much promise and great first season. Netflix has flooded its programming with foreign series, movies with horrible voiceovers, slick previews that attempt to hide the fact they are in a different language. They develop a great story just to cancel it, Netflix is degrading fast. Maybe another streaming service can pick it up, I don't know. Btw, Amazon isn't much better. Ever check out their 4K programming? Unorganized, hard to find, and when you do find them the majority of the 4K is Indian, Bangladesh or some Middle Eastern material.

What a shame these great actors don't get a chance to continue and develop this great story.

Great For Family Night
10 March 2020
I did not know there was a book, so I'm only going with the movie. Before I give my quick review let me just say to some of these so-called critics, IT'S A FAMILY MOVIE. Sometimes adults can learn from children and in this case there's a few that need to learn to let go of reality and have fun with imagination.

From the beginning to the end this movie grabbed our attention and held on to the end. The puppy being raised by stray cats and forming a bond was adorable and heartbreaking. The story telling by Bella (Bryce Dallas Howard) had just the right tone through out. It had a great mixture of laughter, tears, edge of seat thrills. The power of love a dog has with family, friends, and those who need a little comfort while going through hardships is warm and touching. For those being critical of the interactions between dogs and cats (BIG CAT) really need to chill. Enjoy it for what it is, a family movie for kids and adults that are kids at heart.

Only negative and it's small because it was fairly quick, is liberal Hollywood forcing their agenda on us. Stop forcing the lgbtq BS. If it doesn't have anything to do with the story, the plot, it doesn't work. It just comes off as forced, lazy, tiresome, and old. It's Hollywood's way of trying to make a lifestyle normalized and it doesn't work. I have to say though, out of most movies/shows from Apple and Disney this movie didn't shove it in your face. It was more subtle.

Great movie!

Really Good Dark Comedy

Some people should stop expecting every movie to be Oscar material. Grab your significant other, popcorn, drinks, kick back and enjoy. Movie is fun, funny and dark.

It's okay
24 February 2020
First, I'm ok with altering the story. Changing the locations, time frame is all well and good. It still keeps the essence of Extraterrestrial life arrives on Earth and just destroys humanity. The scenery of the Observatory in the French Alps is beautiful, as is the camera work.

The cast is very good with solid performances. Personally, I like that they didn't throw in some big time action star. They had actors with down to earth feel, and were believable as normal every day people.

I'm only through the second episode, but what brings my rating down to a 5 is the writers and director. Why do they insist on making people stupid? People watching movies and shows on tv are tired of the constant dumb actions written by those in charge of the story. Why on earth did she do that or not do this is a question that's throughout this show. Why did they go there or not go here, what were they thinking. These are questions by the audience that ruins the flow of the show. Obviously it's just a Syfy series, but is it really too much to have some reality? These types of questions are ever more prevalent than with the military. Did they have military advisory, a retired military person who helps with accuracy? These guys look untrained, unprepared, and it's embarrassing for the actors and for anyone who has served.

The director and writers of Hollywood have become lazy, sloppy, lacking creativity, and tiresome. They are wasting really good potential.

Head Scratcher
22 February 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I'm writing this review as a father of two daughters and a son. I didn't mind the opening scene, only because it reminded me of all my bed time stories shared with my children. However, this is a movie and Casey made a mistake taking all that time right from the start. I felt like falling asleep listening that long to the opening bedtime story. The point of all the dangers, not to trust anyone, red alerts, emergency getaway plans was a constant throughout. So it's really damn dangerous out there and every day is a life or death struggle. It was drilled into his daughter and the audience. Which leads to the biggest problem. No weapons?! No gun?! No knife?! No bow and arrows?! This is a father struggling to survive a dangerous world with dangerous people and he doesn't have any protection? Was this some kinda anti-gun point? I wouldn't be surprised being how agenda driven Hollywood is. Even so, why not a knife, like a bunch of knives? Use the knives to make a bow and some arrows, a couple spears. How can you hunt for food without some knives, guns, something? As a father I'm writing this review and thinking that was probably the dumbest thing about this movie.

It's really hard to let the no guns aspect go, but putting that aside I really enjoyed the acting and the story. I loved the relationship between the father and his child. That is what kept me focused throughout the movie. Very well done by the young actress and Casey.

Finally the ending...that's the other problem. There was no ending. It was like they ran out of time because of that long opening bedtime story or they ran out of ideas. It goes from an intense scene to black and the credits start. There really is nothing worse than a bad ending, a movie without an ending.

Just Stop
15 February 2020
First I'm a fan of Ruby Rose. Personally I think she's a very good action actress. She's the only reason I rate this show with 2 stars. I also see in Ruby she has the ability to broaden her acting. It should be said that actors can only do so much with what they're given, but they share the responsibility for choosing what is/was garbage.

So much honest potential wasted on Hollywood's agenda to indoctrinate its audience. There are great examples of female leads, action or otherwise without the "wokeness." Is it possible Hollywood is confused, thinking all this woke bs is creativity...no. It's fake, lazy, tiresome and a turn-off.

So that's what I did with this show, turned it off for good.

We had a blast watching this movie. Great acting by the entire cast, and what a perfect cast it was. This is the the movie that deserve award recognition.

Well Done Movie
1 February 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This movie is very much like American Assassin (Which I thought was great). Ordinary every day person with a loving family living the dream is shattered by terrorist attack. The surviving victim of the terrorist attack is like a caterpillar going into a cocoon and emerging as a lethal weapon, avenging the brutal deaths of their lost loved ones. Both characters in each movie had their CIA/MI6 Trainers and Handlers guiding them through their tirade. Both movies concluded with a perception of a promising sequel(s).

Some how American Assassin was able to accomplish the exact same thing while at a comfortable pace. Rhythm Section felt slow at long stretches during the same points of the plot as American Assassin. That's my personal negative opinion on this movie.

I have zero issues with women playing these characters. I enjoy leading women playing in these movies. Blake Lively is and was amazing in this movie. As long as they're not agenda driven based on political theology and clearly pushing the fake gender war or purposely changing history or changing the long standing originality of a fairy tail with the sole purpose of inserting a different gender which has zero to do with the story. As long as the acting is great, plot is good, keep pumping out these strong women playing strong characters.

With that said the timing of the release of this movie during Super Bowl weekend probably crushed any chance of sequels. Friday night and the theater was empty. Unfortunately, it won't make enough money to justify it.

Dumpster Fire
23 January 2020
Going in the show was marketed as the second coming of MASH. Not even close. The humor fell and never landed. Instead the attempt only succeeded at demeaning female soldiers and made our soldiers out to be drug using, drug selling, smugglers with little to know sense of their combat surroundings.

To no surprise Hollywood wasted no time to use a military tv series to attack the Commander and Chief, the President. They play the race card, gender card, illegal alien card.

Horrible acting, horrible writing, horrible plot (what is the plot...to use a tv series to attack our country, the President and the people who elected him).

It'll Be Cancelled
20 January 2020
Once again Hollywood and their liberal lunacy gets in the way of making possibly a good series. It has all the forced fed propaganda topics, sympathy for illegal aliens, lgbtq characters. It just never ends. If I were the lead actors I'd make sure my agent has other options lined up.

Ok Popcorn Flick
11 January 2020
The movie wasted no time getting right to it. Action from the very beginning to the very end.

Too many people go in to the movies expecting to be taught science, an education from actors in an action flick. When you walk into a theater with those expectations you're guaranteed for a let down. Or you're the group that believes and base their lives on "actors." Unless the movie is literally based on facts and true events, just enjoy it for what it is, a movie.

This movie has good action, good suspense, and decent acting. It really uses the slow motion at the perfect times to be effective.

With that said, they spend zero character building in the lead up. They try to fit in some back story of some of the characters right in the middle of all the action. A lot of movies spend too much time on this, this movie doesn't spend enough. If they did, it may have been slightly better.

Don't Bother Watching Episode 3
10 January 2020
This had me for the first two episodes. Great acting, great visuals, the story was well written. It left me wanting more and couldn't wait to watch episode 3. And then it all went up in flames. Episode 3 was so bad it was like it was an entire different show with entirely different writers. Even the same actors that were in 1 & 2 seemed off, acting was bad, no chemistry. It was like they were begging to die just to kill this horrible show. I honestly can't imagine anyone with a brain liking this Netflix show after going through a slow death of watching episode 3.

It was canceled with no ending...
3 January 2020
Very enjoyable. I was pleased with just about everything. I understood going into it, it was not a History Course at some University. So the inaccuracy didn't bother me. This is not a Documentary nor is it given the loosely labeled true story. Another common criticism was their accents. I didn't care about that either, I'm no linguist. People need to stop expecting an education from Hollywood and just relax and enjoy.

Unfortunately like so many other series it was canceled and canceled without an ending. That's my biggest issue. So if you haven't started watching, don't. You'll be left unfulfilled.

Ruined by Hollywood forced bs, oh and it's canceled
30 December 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Season 1 was very good. Couldn't wait until season 2 until I started watching the first episode of season 2.

Right from the start the writers insert racist bs. The private investigator who is hired by an elderly Filipino woman accuses an apparent law enforcement associate over the phone that if the missing girl was blonde and blue eyes from an affluent neighborhood he would do more. Then not long after a white detective clearly has an issue with the private investigator because of his skin being black.

Glad I turned it off before the first episode ended, Netflix cancelled it anyway.

Best Syfy On Syfy, Now Streaming On Amazon
17 December 2019
Syfy dropped a masterpiece of a show. Thanks to Amazon for picking it up. Hopefully they continue multiple seasons beyond season 4.

If there's a negative....Other than saving the show which is a huge positive, Amazon only really added the F-Bomb to the show. I read somewhere when Amazon was announcing they were picking up the show it would now give the writers much more creative opportunities and leeway. Well for their first season under this more so-called freedom to be more provocative was forcing the F-Bomb. I have know problem with cursing, but it was clearly forced into the dialogue and added nothing to enhance the show.

Awesome Popcorn Flick
16 December 2019
Take the night off. Get your popcorn ready, turn up your surround sound and ENJOY. Ignore those negative blow-hards looking for an Oscar compelling movie. This is an awesome action movie that's fun from the beginning to the end.

People need to stop taking things so serious and let your imagination free. I'll tell you what's humorous, these people who literally are nitpicking this movie as if they were expecting some kind of Shakespeare script and an Odyssey of action that flows like a poem of reality. You people need to go get lit.

The Potential Is Great...
30 November 2019
I'm not a Star Wars Genius. When I was a child I loved the original trilogy. As an adult looking back the acting was awful, with the exception of Harrison Ford. That really didn't change in the newer movies. In fact, they just got worse (with the exception of Rogue One). Rogue One was excellent.

The Mandalorian in my opinion has a great story and the potential is endless. Its already better than the recent movies not named Rogue One. To nip pick a bit, it's not even 30 minutes when you count the beginning and ending credits. I don't know if Pedro Pascal is actually in that uniform, but whoever it is (probably just a stuntman) looks very uncomfortable moving around. He's very slow in every movement. If you watch, he's extremely careful with steps. It's really my biggest complaint. Ironman looks more comfortable in fight scenes than this guy. I'm being funny with that last statement, but it's too highlight my point. Clearly this character has to be Proficient and deadly with hand to hand combat, grappling, martial-arts. How can he if he's scared stiff to just walk down a flight of steps. Maybe he can't see out of the helmet. Lastly, my guess is it's a stuntman and all Pedro is doing is voiceovers. Easy money.

6 September 2019
Warning: Spoilers
About 15 minutes in at that end of the capture the flag game Amber pretends to fall walking across a rope bridge over a creek. So instead of winning the game Mia decides to help. The way they all act one would think the rope bridge was a hundred feet above a rapid river. No no, it's literally inches above a creek that is maybe two inches deep. This is so bad it might be the worst ever on Netflix. And they canceled OA?!

Great Summer Popcorn Movie
2 August 2019
We went to see the Thursday night early showing on the IMAX due to time restraints. This is the definition of a Popcornflix. We didn't go into the movie looking for Oscar winning material. We didn't go into the movie expecting in-depth plots with Daniel Day-Lewis acting his *ss off. We went into the movie looking for Hobbs & Shaw kicking *ss with their great rapport, cracking jokes and insulting each other. They delivered and much more. Idris Elba just exploded off the screen. He literally can act any role/character you give him. He added additional intensity to a movie that was already intense with explosions, action, fighting, and off the wall cliff hangers. On top of a crazy exciting movie, the two cameos where hilarious and inserted perfectly.

Don't go into this movie looking for realism, shakespearean material. Go see this movie for what it is, the perfect Popcornflix during hot Summer days.

Enjoy it now before....
23 May 2019
Just let yourself enjoy a great tv sitcom without worrying about the boring typical disbelief of what can be done or not in real life. The acting is great and the chemistry these actors have is rare and amazing. Simply a great show to sit and joy with the family.

....it's canceled. Unfortunately the powers that be pulled the plug.
