Shirley Booth was amazing in this movie. It breaks me heart that she only did a select few television performances after her debut in this wonderful movie. Booth is the perfect Lola, and so very talented in her trade. My only wish is to have been able to see her and her counterpart on the Broadway version of this great movie.

As most people might know, this is one of the many movies that was riffed by a wonderful cult-classic called Mystery Science Theater 3000. Now, the whole beauty of the later-series shows is that they would take a movie that, in itself, wasn't absolutely horribly boring and enhance it with riffs. _The Giant Spider Invasion_ as a singular movie isn't all that bad. Sure, it's goofier than hell, but that's the beauty of it. Now, I'm not quite sure in this case if I'd want to sit down and watch this movie without the crew from MST3K riffing it, but I wouldn't be completely bored out of my mind. Hell, just trying to justify all of the scientific faults in this movie alone will keep a person busy for the length of the movie. All in all, I give it two very enthusiastic thumbs up. Fine need something better to do rather than watch paint dry fun. ;)
