Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (2023)
Back to cartoonish marvel
They didn't cheap out on the CGI and Jonathan did great with what he was given, which was very little.
As did Michelle Pfeiffer.
Otherwise, very poor story and dumb humour. The fantastic quantum realm just became a superficial derivative of Star Wars.
I can't believe we are back to this level of childish writing and fist fights. The Cassie character is barely a character honestly.
The long awaited supervillain, just came to nothing really.
Not to mention Modok. We can forgive the appearance, but to make him a whiny big headed man who turns good, god knows for what reason.
All in all, disappointing.
Lovecraft Country (2020)
Good start..that's it.
Very promising premise and intriguing period. After the first episode, the show starts to try and cram lots of lore causing confusion.
Acting is good, there was no problem with that.
The singer character had such a lovely and powerful voice.
However, as we get to episode 4 the catastrophe hits. So this is a 50s show right? Who in their right mind plays Rihanna's "Bitch better have my money" as a soundtrack. Who? And why? Who could appreciate this?
It felt like a huge disconnection between what I was seeing and what I was hearing.
Storywise, it is destroyed at this point.
All in all
Watch it if you are curious, I doubt you'll enjoy it to the end.
Why Women Kill (2019)
9/10 for season 2
Both seasons are intriguing in their separate ways. Season 2, however, is exceptionally well made and draws you to another world. Comic and dramatic and thrilling. Highly recommended show, especially season 2 again.
Jinn (2019)
Not Bad
Not as bad as people make it out to be. Story is mediocre and immature acting. Still, it's a fun watch. I guess people can get offended by the language, so if you have reservations against swear words, it's not for you.
Finally, we watch american movies with a ton of swear words, why is that so bad in an arabic show or film?
Game of Thrones (2011)
Watch till season six finale
Unique show from the first minute, if you make the mistake of watching season 7 you will be disappointed, if you sin and watch season 8 you will feel horribly betrayed.
Game of Thrones: The Iron Throne (2019)
Crushing
Flawless acting
Terrible writing
Confused characters, strange endings
What is the point of Jon's character? Sure he doesn't have to be the hero, but his character is just lost..Arya being Super Ninja Arya then all of a sudden "I'm Dora the Explorer"..where did that come from?..Bronn is the master of coin? Why? Cersei and Jaime crushed by rocks, no head injuries, and it seems they could have avoided the rocks by moving a bit to the right.
I only liked Drogon in this episode.
Waiting for GRRM to save Westeros and liberate it from the tyrants D&D
Vikings (2013)
Went downhill
After the departure of Ragnar, there doesn't seem to be any twists or surprises. All we get is repeated plots, lines,..
Now the main downfall is the Ivar character. Such a badly written character, and badly performed.
There are no more interesting characters, only boring ones like Lagertha, or tired ones like Floki or disgusting ones like Ivar.
Kong: Skull Island (2017)
Silly dialogue amplified by some bad acting
Cheesy lines in the likes of "let's do this"
Childish plot development
And the acting is thoroughly subpar
Nothing likeable in this film
Waste of time
Ibiza (2018)
Bad
Richard Madden gives a nice small character. That's the one good thing in the movie. Writing is lazy. Plot is just not there. Characters are unfunny caricatures.
Sand Castle (2017)
bad movie
such a waste of time. Can't believe Henry Cavill contributed to this resounding failure. plot is completely missing. Acting is superficial and dumb. and it doesn't appear a director was anywhere near this doomed location. God I feel bad having seen something as bad as this. I really hope no one else makes the same mistake.
Stage Beauty (2004)
Great and Touching
First of all, the film is one of the few that give detailed lifestyle of this early period in English history. You would think "a man plays a woman..that's a comedy" but it's not...it's a well made drama..These guys were celebrities back then. What got me the most was Billy Crudup's performance..this man can certainly act..I wish I could have some contact with him..I'd tell him "You are one of the best actors I've ever seen"...If I see him acting on a stage it would be great for sure.. Anyway..this is one of my best movies and certainly worth a watch. and yes it's an overlooked movie...like so many brilliant others.
