Ise Yarar Bir Sey (2017)
The poetry of life
Jon Kalman Stefansson once wrote that "some poems take us places where no words reach, no thought, they take you up to the core itself, life stops for one moment and becomes beautiful, it becomes clear with regret and happiness. Some poems change the day, the night, your life." This quote perfectly captures the essence of "Something useful". Such a beautiful and poetic film will inevitably touch your soul and will haunt you for days after the last scene.
Touch Me Not (2018)
When provocation is an end in itself
'Touch me not' is the most pretentious and pseudo art intellectual film I've ever seen. Even if you like the work of directors such as Lars von Trier or Gaspar Noe, you will be totally confused and shocked by this one.
My personal feeling is that the director's aim was only to provoke instead of really exploring in depth the subject of intimacy. And here comes the reason why I'm leaving two stars instead of one. The general idea of the movie is a good one and is related to a trending problem in the western world. However, the end result leaves us more distant from the core of the issue than before watching the movie. Furthermore, this misachievment is accompanied by long scenes, boring lines, unpleasant characters and exaggerations.
'Touch me not' leaves the viewer with the feeling of emptiness, despair and disgust. And inevitably comes the question: 'How did this film win the Golden Bear prize?' and the apprehension that the critical success of such films is a symptom of a growing alienation and loss of values in our society.
Teströl és lélekröl (2017)
Beautiful and extraordinary
This is a very original and unconventional story. In the contrast between the material world symbolized by the slaughterhouse where the act is taking place and the spiritual world symbolized by the dreams of the protagonists, the viewer together with the two main characters is looking for a path from dream to reality.
'In body and soul' is a film of many symbols and of great beauty. In this story we feel the poetry of life and develop the idea that sometimes we are closer to ourselves in our dreams than in reality. All we have to do is wake up.
Blue Jay (2016)
One of the most touching movies
This movie is one of the most beautiful and heartbreaking movies I have ever seen. I recommend it to everyone who is looking for a beautiful and nontrivial love story.
The movie is shot in a beautiful way that gives the feeling of intimacy. I had the feeling that I'm in the same room as the protagonists and that I'm experiencing the same feelings as they do. Sarah Paulson and Mark Duplass are brilliant and convincing in their roles.
The film reminds us that unfortunately sometimes love leaves us only with the perception of what could have been, but sometimes this perception is worth more than any of these ifs that have been missed...
