I enjoyed every minute of this film
2 June 2004
What a nice film this is. Very few people have heard of it, it probably was released during a period of bigger gravity films and didn't manage to attract too much attention. Never the less I will try to use exactly the same words I use when I recommend this film to my friends. See it! You'll enjoy it.

As fairy tales go this is a brilliant example, narrative that cuts the film in small digestible pieces, naive maybe but funny and light. I think the story line is simple and the plot is pseudo complicated. Like most fairy tales it is not the story but how you tell the story, and the tale is told beautifully in this film.

What is it all about? Two old men tell tall tales about their youth to a young man they have to look after. Stories of glory past that eventually aim to build character. Building the character of a whole generation through tales of an unbelievable past, as it compares with the lame and cynical present.

If you ever enjoyed myths and fairy tales when you were a kid, you'll enjoy this film.

Excelent style, weird story and...
28 January 2004
And one small thing I didn't like, the car chase scene. But let's take the story from the start.

A young boy receives a bicycle and a dog for his birthday as a present from his granny and many years later he is ready for the Tour de France. The poor lad finds himself in a sinister plot of illegal cyclist races and the French Mafia in the New World... Only his poor old grandma can save him now!

The story unfolds through a unique animation style and characters with exaggerated appearances. The artist has a unique way of putting across all the feelings and thoughts of each and every one of those cartoons.

The plot is not at weird as the 1998 Old Lady and the Pigeons but it is certainly told the same weird way.

All in all it is a great film. I liked it a lot and I will watch it again and again just to absorb the strong images of the weird old ladies and their musical appliances...

6 fast minutes
28 January 2004
This movie tells more in 6 minutes than a feature film. The fast action and the style, the music, the narrative stays in your mind, it accompanies you for days! You wonder if you can stop blinking for the duration of the film in case you manage to take in more and more!

I am about to go and watch it again, yes! and I can't wait!

I'll write no more, don't want to spoil it for you...

Computer Game gone wrong movie
30 October 2003
Well. I have to say I saw this film when I was 14-15 and I found it amusing.

It is based around a group of teenagers who gather and play an adventure game together. They try to find the ultimate game and finaly they find a very exciting one that sends terrorists to targets.

They seem to have full control over this terrorist network indeed.

By coincidence they find out that the terrorist acts they plan are executed for real!

Nice twist, but the movie is definetly dated and it hasn't age well.
