Heintje - Ein Herz geht auf Reisen (1969)
Beautiful photograph and awesome songs
I saw this movie when I was 7 and since then I have been trying to get it. The songs are beautiful and very well delivered by young Heintje -wich had a very respectable voice by the time-.
It's a pity this movie is not available in NTSC format because since it can be get on VHS, here in America is very difficult to get a PAL-NTSC transfer-unless you pay for it of course-.
The story takes place during a journey with the young star so you will see beautiful landscape and many well-done shots.
As the other reviewer says, this picture deserves much more than the sole star it has been carrying until now.
Nicholas and Alexandra (1971)
Accuracy on characters resemblance and on history
I first saw this movie several years ago. I reviewed it three times more and I still thinking that the director and producers achieved an extraordinary sensation of historic accuracy by putting Michael Jayston in the main role as well as Tom Baker in the role of Rasputin. What an extraordinary resemblance of those two actors with the historic characters! Despite some moments of a certain overacting, Jayston´s work is very convincing. The relation between the royal couple is strongly represented and do explain the profound drama of having a son´s health depending on someone else´s will. Many things can be said of this extraordinary picture but I simply keep to myself the flawless presence of Olivier, the intense feeling of frustration of Jayston as the last Czar of the Mother Russia and, of course, the intriguing, bizarre and fascinating influence of Tom Baker´s Rasputin. By the way, is the young soldier who causes an incident with the princesses in Siberia the now well recognized Ralph Fiennes?
