The Predator (2018)

A Sunday matinee

A good family movie for kids and grown ups, but more for kids. It should be shown around afternoon, like 5 pm on weekend, when whole family get together. Silly teenage-humor, non-violent violence and beautiful female actors, not provocatively dressed. Everything set for a 10 year old kid to enjoy.

Boring, boring, boring...

Two and a half hours spent on this boring movie. Great story, that after 30 min just turned to some boring psycho-philosophical street.

High-class acting!

The whole cast is just superb. Every role played perfectly! I did not expect the end as shown, yet it does not hurt the complete impression of the movie. Really, really good movie!

Very disappointed...
22 October 2017
There was no war almost at all, but that's not a problem. The problem was very slow scenes, ˝dialogues˝ and plot development. Actually there was not much of a story also. Harrelson was great as a colonel, but just very less used as a great actor and an important character in the movie. This emotional Caeser-scenes were so long and boring. No drama, no humor, no tensions and after all no war. Actually, if I overthink, the movie is disaster, especially because all previous movies were very good.

Thumbs down!

A good story totally ruined by a bad director. Great actors have been degraded thanks to Espinosa. English with Russian accent was and always is a terrible idea, especially when you choose the actors that have problems with performance in this made-up-dialect. The story is also misleading the audience a few times in the film making 3-4 stories in the same film, jumping from one to another, with a poor or no explanation in a single part of the movie. At the end I was confused, didn't know how to connect the events into the plot. At first seemed we search for a murders done by Soviet system, then ups!-it's not, there is somebody, a single killer, but seems protected by government (why?who knows!), then we have some stupid short story about drugged nazidivisions which are inserted into the Soviet-system to revenge their defeat in war. At the end- No,again! It is all about a sick ex-soviet officer from the WW2 who is crying at the end end being shot just 2 minutes after showing up in the movie. The movie has been directed as there was a small child behind the scene, not a grown up. TERRIBLE! I give 4/10 just for a good actors team gathered, even their performance was poor, but again thanks to Espinosa.

Under 12 movie!
20 April 2017
The scenario as usual, but the scenes and acting is more and more childish as series goes on. If I was my daughter (4), then the movie was excellent. The dialogues are so pathetic, full of clichés and emotionally overreacted (specialy with a baby-scenes). Diesel is a bad actor in a bad movies, but this is really too much. With such a funny and awful face when he needs to act sorrow or concern or happiness. Statham is a far better actor, as well as Charlize and they are true intruders in this movie. Also a terrible humour in the movie. Roman is trying to fix something but just trying. I watched last 2 and now with this one watched yesterday I'm enough. Awful!

Very good...
25 February 2017
I watched the movie at home and I must admit I enjoyed it. Actors are very good, plot is very interesting and it's ending is very nice. There are only few actors in whole movie and that's what makes it different and interesting. The star-ship configuration is also very nice, as well as space frontiers. I can't find anything wrong, but feel that something's missing to make the movie really great. I don't know what, but it's probably the ˝Homestead 2˝. We should have seen it, at least a bit of it. But, the story could bee continued on Homestead 2 in next movie, that would be interesting.

Excellent!

I always can't wait next Gibsons movie and he thrills me every time it shows up. - Classy performance by Garfield, Wothington, Vaughn and the rest of the crew. - Perfectly recorded battle minutes with all the ugly moments that the front line of the battle contains. - Very pleasant romantic moments - A lot of emotions all the way from the beginning until the very end of the film.

It is unbelievable how meticulously and carefully Gibson develops every scene and the part of the movie. The time passed so quickly that I haven't even noticed that it came to the end. Well done Mel! Congratulations again!

I expected far more...

Far away from a great film. Very intriguing and attractive location in Siberia is always challenging for the audience that you just have to check what is behind that. I love this kind of movies, but there's just too much cliché in the screenplay. Good guys vs bad guys - OK, it is hard to avoid this, but there can be a huge spectrum of this, from way good to super bad. This one is more bad than good. Not to be so harsh I'll say an average. The main protagonists are two quite naive Americans on a charity mission in China. It is kind of naive way as well how they easy connect with 2 very suspicious passengers. Carlos is just too intrusive and Abby doesn't talk at all, at first. Interesting location, countryside, great actors, good plot, but from all these good elements we got nothing but an average TV-movie for a boring rainy afternoon.

Spoiled good story
24 August 2016
When I read the screenplay, I was looking forward to have nice and relaxing evening but nothing was like I expected and really I didn't expected much, just fun. The movie turned out to be very weird and confusing SF with some strange black but not funny humour. Unrealistic characters in a possibly-realistic story. At least how I saw it. I know people judge different stories differently from each other, from different perspective, but here seems we have a good idea in a wrong hands.

Mark 4 is very generous from me.

Thumbs down.

HQ movie!

Personally, I do like 2h-and-longer movies, but only if they can attract my attention in full durance. This is very very good movie, but I wouldn't say a masterpiece. Why? I expected more convincing turns and twists. Example; When the crew finds out that they were fooled by dr.Brand, it is hardly well explained what kind of purpose leis in their expedition. Dr Brand says there is no hope to find the ˝salvation planet˝ because his equation is insufficient, yet they still have to continue their research, as dr. Mann says: they are the future, not the Earth inhabitants. What's that mean? They will die searching? What's the difference then between them and those left behind??

Nolan is one of my favorites, but still something's missing here.

Wow!

This is an Under 12 movie. Cm on guys...! I sorry for my 30 kunas I spent for this crap. It supposed to be at 11am in theaters, then I would take my little cousins to see it. They would've been enjoyed I'm sure. Zoe Saldana? Are you kidding me? Let's just be honest, there is only one movie that is more naive than this one, except it's a legendary movie. TERMINATOR. She kills 23or4 people just to atract the killer of her parents? But the worst scene is when her uncle shoots the car across the street just like that just walks away like that. I asked my friend next to me: Is this a joke or what? The story was good basic to develop fine action and grab viewers attention.
