All I could think about James Dean, or at least the character he played in this film, is "Grow up, James! The world does not revolve around you!" What a self-absorbed, self-indulgent narcissist!

Bleah.

Wretched

Terrible movie. No decent songs, no discernible plot, no charm or humor or warmth. Unwatchable.

Not even a significant pop culture item of the 1960s. You don't need to see this.

Good Comedy Seriously Flawed By Racism
24 January 2022
This is the second of the Bob Hope & Bing Crosby Road movies. This is a pretty funny film - but it's seriously flawed by racist depictions of racial stereotypes of Africans as humorous natives without intelligence.

Powerful and DISTURBING.

This is a brilliant western. I can see why it only lasted one season. It shows the west as it really was. The episodes frequently do not have happy endings. They are often thoughtful and disturbing. Rod Serling's writing is top notch, as good as on the Twilight Zone. Powerful.

As Creepy and Disturbing as it is Absurd
14 April 2019
This movie is as creepy and disturbing as it is absurd and perverse. It's quite effective in it's own B-movie way. I enjoyed it, and I admire its audacity.

Very, very bad
4 October 2018
There were some great science fiction movies in the 1950s. This isn't one of them. Despite high production values, this movie has more plot holes and unintentionally bad scenes as to illicit groans. Joan Taylor puts in the best performance, and Hugh Marlowe is at times pretty good. But the movie overall is not very good.

Dull

Dull. Unfunny. Poorin every way. Lacks the quirkiness and goofball energy of the novels.

Nothing Special.
30 June 2018
The film features a story of a successful wife and the husband being threatened by it and having to deal with child raising. Hi-hum. This is the 21st century. Why not instead have a husband that ISN'T threatened by a successful wife and doesn't have male ego problems? The villain is predictable from a mile away. I found it all in engaging.

Great Caper Film!
3 January 2014
This is a very cool, very hip caper film, with sexy James Coburn in the title role. He plays a rogue and conman who…no spoilers, here, It set in Tangier and throughout the Mediterranean, has gorgeous photography, has more twists and turns than any film I can think of, and an ending that is perfect and hilarious and brilliant. It's one of those who is conning who films, and this is one of the very best. It's perfectly cast, James Coburn is awesome, as is James Mason, James Fox, James Alderton, and Susannah York. And the soundtrack is very intense jazz, and Lou Rawls sings the opening song.

This is a great film.
