Game of Thrones: The Last of the Starks (2019)
White Walkers killed the logic
The thing I loved about this show was that the characters were reasonable and it was easy to understand and explain their actions. For example, Tywin was intelligent and cared about his legacy, his actions were adequate and the viewers were often amazed at how effective he could be at achieving his goals. Similar words we could say about all the other characters until ~ season 6, later things started to make much less sense.
The actions of characters are now so reasonable that I fear I do not know them anymore:
- Cersei does not kill Tyrion even though she already hired the assassins to do that. She could also easily crush that small army at her gates and kill Dany and therefore secure the safety of her child. Why did she decide not to? Not sure.
- Tyrion exposes himself to try to persuade Cersei to surrender even though everybody knows this will not work, especially just after we all saw a dragon being killed so easily.
- Dany exposes herself at the gates of Kings Landing armed with archers and Scorpions that just killed her dragon.
- The dragon gets killed suddenly out of nowhere, honestly I thought that it was somebody's dream/vision. How come 3 shots from a far distance were accurate, while nobody even hit Drogon when we was much closer charging straight on them?
- Jon spontaneously decides to tell Sansa about his true ancestry after she says 'you are our brother', did he actually think what his words could do?
- I completely do not get Brandon, he seems to be completely useless. Why nobody uses his powers? This seems like a very valuable asset, he could say see that Cersei manufactures Scorpions and plans to use them to kill dragons. Or even use his powers to see how the Valyrian steel was made. Instead he sits on a chair the whole day repeating he is not Brandon anymore.
- The Tyrion-Varys conspiracy - they did not give any argument why Dany would be a bad queen. Their little conspiracy could lead to Cersei winning the war - if they really care about the realm I am sure they do not want that. So far the only serious argument against Dany is that she burned Tarlys. Jon also executed people for not obeying orders. Can't they see things from her point of view and use that in conversations to persuade her?
- Sansa spontaneously decides to tell Tyrion and everybody else about Jon's ancestry despite he specifically asked her not to. For what reason? Does she really think Dany would be such a bad queen to risk the alliance? Why? North cannot win the war alone and without Dany they would be doomed.
- Is Euron Greyjoy really this stupid to believe that Cersei's child is his? How would Tyrion know about the child?
- Why is Tyrion so stupid and does not make any sense anymore?
- Why is nobody discussing the military advantages that Cersei currently has? The last dragon seem to be excluded from the game and there is still a whole army to defeat. I do not see that Dany's victory is so clear that the only point in conversations should be 'killing innocent people'...
It appears that the only thing White Walkers successfully killed is logic in GoT.
Legion: Chapter 16 (2018)
Boring and slow
The show became way to slow for me, the episodes could have been compressed 10 times. Season 2 is almost ending and basically nothing happend, nothing new, and I am losing the connection with characters.
Thats it for me, not continuing the show.
