Heartbreak Hotel (2006)
Incoherent nonsense
This is simply awful. A load of sloppy dildo-humor and incoherent lines of dialog. The movie lacks definite focus to a point where you wonder if the film ever had a script, the ending is by far the most idiotic resolution I have ever seen. Stay away, or you might have nightmares; this movie is simply the definition of a "failed comedy" film... The acting is decent and the directing is OK, but this does not save it from being extremely painful to watch, I would rather burn alive than see this piece of crap again. The obvious targeted costumer here is a middle aged Swedish old lady who thinks movie like "Shindlers list" and "The Godfather" is too serious and violent. Conclusion: Swedish films generally suck. I know, I'm a swede.
Silent Hill: The Unauthorized Trailer (2004)
If these guys would have directed the real movie I'd killed myself.
This is a warning. Maybe it's a glimpse of the future, a small insight into how bad the movie could get. Even if you ignore the shaky camera there's the corny dialog, the horrible acting and the tiny idiotic details like that someone would have spray-painted "Silent Hill" inside a small cabin just outside town. The directing is dangerously near the qualities of Uwe Boll and most of the music is way to hip-hop:ich for "Silent Hill". I'm sure these amateurs meant well, and they did do me a favor: I laughed like crazy. When the lame actors delivered one horrifically lousy line after another I almost fell of the chair in laughter, I tell 'ya. I rarely do this watching regular comedies, so if this was a joke, I'd love it! But it isn't. And it shall be judged that way. Just pray that the real movie won't look anything like this.
Dawn of the Dead (1978)
The best zombie movie - Ever!
I had just watched the remake of Dawn of the Dead and I was hooked. The end of the world atmosphere, the bizarre and real creepy zombies and the character dept made me loose my breath. I was new to the zombie genre and I really wanted to see the original, which everybody said was a lot better. So I sat down, with really high hopes and... just laughed myself to death. The real lousy make-up job, the more or less strange music, and the apocalyptic biker scene, I was very entertained, but also pretty disappointed. But this movie really creeps up under your skin and the more I thought of it, the more I realized how much the movie had affected me. Because of all the strange and dark scenes, this move has a sickly, claustrophobic atmosphere which occasionally made me have nightmares and lose a lot of sleep, no other movie has made me feel this sort of fear. So I watched it again and this time I really got scared. Every little detail in the movie, the music, the overly violent and gory parts, the great acting, contributes to the films unique mood. I bought the DVD and watched it over and over again, this is a movie that gets better for every time you watch it. You can also feel the panic of the entire human race as hope fades more and more, the whole world is in chaos and the humans are turning at each other everywhere. This movie isn't easy to love at first, but after a while you just totally capitulate. 9/10!
Robots (2005)
Not another one...
Yes, you've guessed right, this is yet another computer-animated film, filled with unnecessary morale and boring jokes. This worked out pretty good a few years ago when Pixar released "toy story" and "a bugs life" because then it was original and groundbreaking, the new visual style made you forget flaws in the story. However, while Pixar continues to evolve the genre by actually adding some story content, Dreamworks refuse to let go of the classic un-original storyline.
It's about a Robot who travels to a new city to start a new life and i ask myself, haven't I seen this before? This movie reminds a lot of "a bugs life", despite the fact that you get the need to puke every time those uncomfotable morale-scenes show up. I think I laughed one time during the whole film, and the film is filled with jokes, silly and real childish, I don't think anyone over twelve years will laugh more than I did.
I don't think that a movie can survive using special effects only, and since this movie is like one, big special effect with no interesting story whatsoever I have to give this movie 4/10. Dreamworks, you have to evolve a little!
