It's two different stories and two different movies
8 January 2005
You have to understand that this movie is a combination of two totally different stories and they are very different in quality.

First story is about the brothers (Clooney and Tarantino) and their crimes. They take a family hostage and head for Mexico. This part is nice&good, I was interested to see more, but the plot suddenly turned to some cheesy&corny vampire story. This second story has no style and is totally awful. But Clooney does his best to save this part and I must say thank you to him, because otherwise there would be totally no purpose to watch this movie till the end (even Selma's striping is not sexy... She was doing that much better in Dogma).

So, the summary: first part was good and I would be glad to find out the ending of it without stupid vampires (I give 7 out of 10) and the second part about the vampires is awful (I give 2 out of 10, not 1 because of Clooney acting).

My advise: turn of TV when it comes to the bar in Mexico.

Fanfan (2003)
Waste of money and time
24 January 2004
I went to this movie only because I am crazy about France, it's kings and queens. I adore baroque costumes and decorations. But this film was a great disappointment. Dialogues were not funny and lively. Costumes were miserable. Acting was awful. The plot was silly. The action was totally not convincing. Fanfan (the main character) was too arrogant and energetic. Solders and officers were too stupid. The king was too generous. I wanted to leave the cinema long before the end. I try very hard, but I can't remember anything good about this movie. Sorry...

Entertaining, but quite silly
24 January 2004
I liked this movie because it's very entertaining with some jokes and funny scenes. No hard thoughts, no real dramas, no big tears, no bad emotions. It's perfect if you want to spend some time without thinking and feel good after that. The main plot idea is promising and launching some fantasies - what if...?, but plot development and some twists are quite silly. Perfect for kids and not-nihilistic teens.

9 for entertainment; 4 for silly plot

Picasso is a daemon and no answers why.
24 January 2004
Even from the title 'Surviving Picasso' you can guess that this movie is about Picasso's personality. It's complex, impracticable, arrogant and so on and so fourth. But I watched this movie and couldn't understand why Picasso was like that? Actually, I felt that this movie is more about one of the Picasso's wives - how strong and brave she was. Picasso was shown as a real daemon, which controlled you, your feelings and emotions - you couldn't resist him, his will. But why was he doing it? Or how did he manipulate people? You won't find any answers here, in this movie. I was very disappointed: I wanted to know the real Picasso, what he was like, why he was like that. In this movie I could find only bits of information. I got much more interesting and intriguing information from a documentary on Discovery channel I saw latter.

I don't recommend you to watch this movie. It's not entertaining. It's not informative. It's not documentary. It's not fiction. Basically, it's misunderstanding. 4 out of 10

Should be at the bottom 100

I am a big of all kinds of action movies, but Kill Bill was the biggest disappointment. Why? Very simple:

1. The plot is one sentence: "They almost killed me, so I'll kill them all". As shallow as possible. Also the are some big plot holes.

2. There is nothing else but some long boring episodes (I guess to extend the movie so as to create Kill Bill vol. 2) and some super violent scenes (blood fountains, countless chopped heads, arms and legs). It is advised to watch this movie with closed eyes.

3. There is no Tarantino style left. No jokes, no philosophy, no anything, just blood and violence. R rating is what it deserves. Even fight scenes are not fascinating... Matrix, Equilibrium or even Jackie Chan's fight scenes give me much more satisfaction.

All right, the beginning was quite fine, but everything else... terrible.

I give 1 out of 10. One of the most horrible movies ever. I would pay a lot not to see it one more time.
