It has everything that a typical kung fu has - loyalty to a teacher, fall from grace, training with new style, defeating the bad guys. It also has rivalry among different styles and much more.

One thing that is unique is the idea that pursuing martial arts is wrong. I think that girl enhances the plot very well.

The movie also has an interesting idea about fate. What would happen if his hand wasn't cut off?

On the other hand - the choreography is quite bad. That's the only bad side of the movie.

This movie deserves more than 6.6 average rating. I used to have this on video-cassette when I was a child and I liked it. After that I have watched numerous Kungfu movies and now I think it's even better than I thought.

First of all, the plot is quite interesting and more complicated than most of other martial arts movies. It is a detective story as the jewels have been stolen and several people are after it. The ending is actually quite brilliant, much better than most of other martial arts movies.

I think that everyone who likes martial arts movies, should give this a try. It is not as classic as Jackie Chan's Drunken Master" or "Snake in the Eagle's Shadow", but it is not worse than some other movies that have higher rating.

p.s. Even though the fight scenes may not be the best, some characters and their fighting styles are truly amazing!

This movie is classic. Sure it is a great kungfu movie but I think everyone who watches movies not only for entertainment should watch this movie as well. Not the best movie ever made, but on the other hand it is classic Jackie Chan movie, and at least one of the most important movies ever made in Asian Cinema. It's one of those movies which you can see it and then have an exact idea how the movies from that decade looked like.

The movie has funny scenes and some nice fight scenes. I personally prefer teacher-role from "Snake in the Eagle's Shadow", but this one is good as well.

In general I love such movies, zombies, gradual transformation, mystery - everything seemed perfect in the first episode.

But without giving out any spoilers, I should say that the plot is terrible. Both the main one, but the script, the specific actions of the characters.

The main flaw obviously is the fact that even though zombies are running in the streets, lot of people have disappeared, some were found dead - the police nor the media is concerned. The schools even function without problems - but how? There are zombies in the streets running around.

The other flaws are individual actions of the characters, which is for other viewers to decide.

I am not an expert though, but I am sure even the main plot has found lot of criticisms among other viewers.

P.S. I am giving 5/10 just because some scenes are great - gradual transformations for example.

I am really disappointed. The movie isn't a true horror film even though it had a potential. It also had a potential to be a good movie, without being horror, but it failed with a bad ending. Just before the ending, I liked the twist and it got me interested in the movie, but ending was just dry. I wouldn't give this more than 3/10, not only because it wasn't good, but also because it ruined its potential.

It really didn't have a horror stuff, but it had the element of mystic and surprise, which would have been nice if they didn't screw it in th end. The film is a total waste of time.

I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.
