watch this movie!

Warning: Spoilers
I don't understand how this movie has had so many bad reviews! To start, Thomas Horn's acting is incredible, considering this is his first acting role- he plays the character of oskar so well, showing how people cope with grief differently, and how children with autistic traits view the world. The story line is interesting - and being based around the 9-11, it is relatable for a lot of people. Obviously, with the film being based on such a traumatic event, the story is emotional, but with enough funny and light hearted parts, to keep it form being too depressing. i wouldn't recommend it for children under the age of 13, because of some of the disturbing themes, such as how Oskar harms himself to try and help with his grief, although for older viewers it is a very good movie, and i would definitely recommend it.

Deserves more credit

I first watched this movie when I was eleven years old, and I really do still like it now! The boys were very young in the movie but showed that they had talent right form the start. When I first watched it, I couldn't believe that a nine year old- Nat Wolff- could have written the songs that were played, and I was also very impressed that a six year old Alex Wolff could have written 'Thats how it is'. I like the mocumentary style of the film, and how it is based on the boy's real life band. The whole cast were good actors considering their age, and I like how it covers real issues like first love and growing up. Lots of people have given this movie bad reviews and I totally disagree. It's meant for kids so adults aren't expected to love it, but nobody can say that the boys have no talent because I've never met a six year old that can play the drums like Alex or a nine year old that can sing and write songs like Nat. I've grown up loving these boys and I'm never going to dislike the naked brothers band.

Amazing movie!

I can honestly say that this is my favourite movie of all time. The characters of Danny (Jonah Bobo) and Walter (Josh Hutcherson) are cast really well and are both very good young actors. It is funny right from the first minute and has some cute and heartwarming moments between the brothers. The storyline is very creative and different, and it is better than any other space film I have ever watched. The special effects are really good and the twist that comes about halfway through the movie is unexpected. The story of the two brothers is very believable and you can to relate to it, and the character of the older sister Lisa ( Kirsten Stewart) is a good edition to the story. It has you on the edge of your seat the entire time, and the various adventures the boys have bring comedy and excitement. Although this movie is mainly aimed at children, I believe that people of all ages will enjoy its thrill and originality. I have watched zathura so many times that I have lost count, and I think that the boys are much better actors than a lot of adults I have watched, especially Jonah bobo as he was so young. I would definitely recommend this movie to anyone that likes good entertainment!

Funny and cute- a must watch

I didn't know what to expect when I went to see this film, but I've now watched it three times! The way that it follows a lot of different story lines makes it interesting, and all of the actors made their characters believable. I especially like the character of 13 year old Robbie ( Jonah Bobo) - I think that he plays to his character very well- and it is a very real portrayal of a teenage boy. Steve carell shows that he can play serious roles, and Ryan Gosling is the perfect choice for the character of player- Jacob palmer. There are a lot of funny moments, and some more serious but heartwarming scenes. With some cute speeches and a theme of 'fighting for your soul-mate', this film is a great hit with teens and adults alike, and went down well with my whole family. The characters are relatable to, and it's nice to hear their individual stories. I would definitely recommend this movie!
